It certainly sounds like it will be good against Hur'q, but of course by the time we've got the thing we'll have had more than our fill of fighting them.

Most likely designed that ship cause they kept getting annoyed with alliance ships on their TRIBBLE
I don't even see why they are calling it a dreadnought, it has a pretty typical cruiser layout like the T6 Fleet Galaxy or D'deridex only difference being the weapon setup and hangar bay.
If it is indeed a 3/5 boat, we might just see Mine/Torp builds with this ship. Though without Command, it might not be all that great. Which 5 mines would you put in the Aft? Having both cluster mine torps in the fore with 5 mines in the after would be interesting. Otherwise, I think we are looking at broadside build for this ship. It is kind of sad since this design of the Vorgon ship really looks nice.

They are time travellers, so they knew the Hur'q would be a threat.

Because Cryptic just loves to throw the label 'Dreadnought' around with absolutely no rhyme or reason.
They just slap it on any ship that they want to make desirable.. it makes a ship sound like it would be super powerful.
If you want the best turret boat, I vote for either the t6 bort with the t5 hypercannon console or the t6 mat'ha raptor with its spinal cannon ...load it with csv/crf, maybe some torps and activate the console (also if you don't mind rainbows; we are getting close to having enough heavy turrets to go all heavy)
the mat'ha console is amazing to watch as it fires huge energy bolts surrounded by multiple turret bolts
It's very an interesting ship for my character "The devourer"
She use pets, mines and turrets and attacks foes in close fight with her ship.
For Noemie, who use the escort vorgon ship it would be strange, she use dual beam. I will try something different this time.
This ship would be useful anyway for the terran invasion event mission (if it's a sci vessel).
I have a question about that, the dreadnought is an engineer ship, right? I didn't see it writen somewhere.
For carriers they slap on the dreadnought to give an excuse for more than 6 weapons. Although the kar'fi got the battle carrier title and has 4/3. Pretty much every romulan ship is simply called a warbird so figuring out the actual role is left to the player.
As for typos in blog posts, kael tends to limit his to lazy copy pasting but as he's on holiday at the moment it'll be the same as last year around the same time when blogs either didnt arrive at all or were putting out bad info.
The lolinut post conflicts with info given in game on the PS4 about which ship which could be down to the console post being the exact same page as the PC one.
Until we see the ship in game might be best to take all info as rumour rather than fact.
That ship is going right to Admiralty card. No way am I gonna bother with that thing even for the trait. Assuming that 3x5 isn't a type-o I feel bad for new players, this event kinda put out a really lame T6 ship for their first T6 to get without spending a ton of $$$. Should have been a Risian ship.
Ok, after reading the the description of the ship IN GAME and in the blog post, It's not a typo. So I am going to treat it as a science ship weapons layout with an extra weapon aft and it's put on a crruiser.
It really not that much different than a 5 fore/2 aft ship.
Besides, I've loved the Vorgon ship designs. I think it'll be a great change. Plus with it being Vorgon means it'll be ready for the Vorgon consoles which also means Tetryon based weapons. It'll be fun.
Why are so many people saying this looks like a good mine boat! As someone who specialises in mine layer boats I wouldn’t go near this thing. For mines it has a poor bridge officer layout, poor console layout, the wrong command seating, poor weapon slot layout. It can use mines and made viable at mines but I do not see how it will be very good at it. On the plus sides though the ViL expansion has been great for mine layer boats. Not only did mine boats get a very large boost but the new enemy are perfect to fight with mines.
If it is indeed a 3/5 boat, we might just see Mine/Torp builds with this ship. Though without Command, it might not be all that great. Which 5 mines would you put in the Aft? Depending on the launchers used anything past 2 mine launchers is not recommended although with some of the slower ones you can get away with 3. On the other hand 4 or 5 launchers will run into cooldown problems lowering efficiency.
The other problem is the two best mine layer sets require you to fit 2 energy weapons if you want Master of the mines and Self replicating mines. Which you really want as a mine layer boat. On this ship it takes 3 clusters to maximise mine production which means 5 slots gone before thinking about fitting mine launchers. 2 or 3 mine launchers, 2 or 3 clusters and 2 energy weapons for mine set bonus seem like the overall best fit.
For a mine layer two of the best mine launchers are Modulating Competition Mine and Adv Chroniton Rapid Mine.

There is the problem though.. as a 'science ship,' it falls well short in Science seating and only has 3 Science Consoles.
The big difference between a 5/2 ship is that most of those ships have a heavy tactical focus, but again.. here is this.. thing.. with 3 tactical consoles and sub optimal tactical seating.
Honestly, the weapon layout is the least of the problems this ship has. From it's lack luster BoFF layout, to it's sub optimal console layout, underwhelming console, and useless trait.. this thing is nothing more then an account wide admiralty card.
I am not going to make a big issue out of it, it's a 'free' ship.. you get it for doing practically nothing. They don't even have to do this in the first place, they're still giving players something and I appreciate it. For me personally though, I see absolutely no good use for this ship and won't be able to dismiss it fast enough.
I personally believe this ship will pass the T6 Resolute as the worst T6 ship currently available.
Two days and no word from any Devs nor head communications mod about this. I know Ambassador is vacationing but they can't find a backup to communicate with forums? I really hope it is still a typo after all.

I don't know how you can't make this dreadnought a science heavy boat. You don't HAVE to use Temporal boff abilities. You can easily fit 2 Lt. Com. Science and an Ensign Science on the ship. As for the console layout, It's going to be a more engineering tank science boat.
Just because it doesn't look good on paper doesn't mean you should dismiss it before you even play with it. Sometimes what does work on paper doesn't translate well in game. But what doesn't work on paper can be one of the best ships you've ever flown.
The Ytijara Dreadnought Cruiser strikes a balance in the Vorgon fleets, balancing somewhere between the massive battle station of the Ryn'kodan and the sleek maneuverable strike ship of the Xyfius. Still robust and utilitarian, the Ytijara is intended to give as good as it gets when properly outfitted.
This starship features a Lieutenant Commander Universal/Temporal Operative Specialist seat.
A starship equipped with this console is capable of generating a beam that will drain energy from a target's structural integrity field over time. However, to power this devastating weapon, the starship firing the Inverter must first drain a portion of its own structural integrity field. The starship that fires the SIF Inverter will suffer heavy hull damage, and then rapidly drain a massive amount of energy from its target's structural integrity field, while dealing catastrophic damage to the target's hull.
This console provides as passive bonus to Hull Restoration skill and Maximum Hull Capacity.
This console mod can only be equipped on Vorgon starships and you may only equip a single one of these consoles at a time.
S.I.F. Burst (Starship Trait)
After achieving Level 5 in your Vorgon Ytijara Dreadnought Cruiser (T6), you will unlock the “S.I.F. Burst” Starship Trait. While this Starship Trait is slotted, activating any Hull Healing Bridge Officer Ability will cause enemies within 3km to suffer radiation damage over time.

First thought.. 3 for and 5 rear weapons? Is this a typo or a design destined for a minelayer build?
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Just not interested in this ship at all. If you want to make something out of it, by all means. This game is incredibly easy, there is no doubt you can make a viable build using this ship, I just don't see why I would want to. I was hoping for at least a good trait.. oh well.

If I were building it, I would just put 8 beams on it and call it a day (or maybe 6 beams and 2 rear omni beams.) When broadsiding it isn't going to matter anyway.

No its not for a minelayer build. I don't know why so many people are saying that as this ship looks to be very poor for mine layer builds.
You assume Cryptic knows what would make a good mine layer. Clearly that is their intention. Their latest rep has giving us forward laying mines... and a mine global cool down reducing console. The most recent patch just dropped the mine global. Now they give us a summer ship with a 3/5 layout.
Yes most players still know that mines are going to suck hard no matter what they do... I would say most people also know other then the 3/5 layout nothing about that ship would make for an effective mine build. Still this is Cryptic... they don't play their own game for the most part.

I don’t get it either. None of the weapon systems benefit from 5 rear. In a turret boat or beam array boat it makes no difference if it’s a 4/4 or 3/5 you get the same result. With mines or omni there is no real benefit past 3 rear. Perhaps I am missing something but I am really struggling to see a use for those 5 rear.
