for every sub type of weapon, there should be an Omni for it, either in a box, crafted or rep.
just look at how many phaser types there are, why no Omni's for them?

The visual look of a phaser beam doesn't stop it being a phaser beam. You just have to learn to embrace the rainbow.
And perhaps pester cryptic until they finally decide that more cosmetic options might be a good earner for them especially if they stop burying the damn things under chance of a chance nonsense.
Ok, can someone who actually owns all of the equipment please set the record straight? Is there someone who owns all three of one type of omni (reputation, mission reward and crafted)? Does someone have the competitive, Butterfly and crafted tetryon omnis? Or, does someone have the Gamma, Time and Tide, and crafted polaron Omnis? How can they be mixed and matched? We know that mission reward can be used with crafted. Does reputation work with crafted or mission reward, or both?
Last time I checked Reputation Omni-beams (and that Agony Phaser Omni-beam from some "lucky" Lockbox) count the same as crafted.
In the Ship we can have at once:
- one (1) crafted omni-beam
- one (1) mission reward omni-beam
- one (1) kinetic omni - not exactly a beam, but stil 360° weapon and looks like beam (icon also looks like omni-beam)
If I'm wrong, please correct me...
Edit:
Also, I was sure that Omni-beam, that comes with the starter bug-ship was the craftable (because it was pure polaron weapon) - the only difference I saw - it was character bound, not account bound like normal crafted weapons...

what i meany by weapon sub types, is like the spiral, hybrid, corrosive etc.
I think that if there is a rep weapon type, like the poleron for the.... temporal? eh doesnt matter, just one for each of them IMHO
I think it's absolute garbage we get limited on omni beams but I can if I so choose load up 8 turret cannons.
Just one of the weapons issues I have with the game.

My take on this, in general, is: "If you want a beam boat, and are seeking for more than 3 Omni's in aft (if that were even possible), then you're doing it wrong." Seriously, when you want that, you're often better off with just 8 top-notch single beams. Omni's really aren't all that stellar: useful on an Escort, when you absolutely can't afford to lose that forward momentum, but not really meant for the entire aft section of your cruiser-type ships.

Reputation since it comes from the Gamma Reputation. It's not strictly speaking "Dominion" it's Inhibiting,..
Also, we need a Ferenginar Plasma Omni.

How is the Kinetic Cutting Beam not a beam?
1 Crafted + 1 Reputation/Mission Reward/Lockbox + Omega KCB.
While the Omega KCB IS in fact a beam, it does NOT benefit from any beam enhancing abilities and does not count against any slotted Omni beams.

Though it's also upgraded by beam upgrades, which would suggest the game does consider it a beam to some extent.
Chalk it any other confusion over the name to cryptic not being sure what the hell it actually is themselves.
