Am I the only one annoyed that Caitians can't go bare feet in their uniform? I mean, human shoes look rather uncomfortable for them, and M'ress never had to wear any back during the animated TOS series.

Yeah, but M'ress was what a Caitian is supposed to look like, not what we have in STO.
We have the bare feet for off-duty so it's not like they'd have to make it new. Just add it to the uniform options. And with gorn running around barefoot, it's not like there's an 'all must wear shoes' rule.
Sometimes I think I play STO just to have something to complain about on the forums.
Well, I'd imagine the shoes thing stems from the Caitian's one (and as far as I know only) appearance in the TOS movies where they're shown in full uniform, boots included. Easier to just make head prosthesis than come up with correct looking legs, and it's probably a safe bet they just glossed over M'ress' details in the process.

We come in peace, SHOOT TO KILL!

Probably not. I mean barefoot in an EV suit kinda defeats the purpose of the EV suit.
Still... I'd like to know why Caitians can't be barefoot in uniform while Gorn can.
Did you ever look at the size of their feet? Shoes on a Gorn are an oddity.
My character Tsin'xing
I believe Ferasans use the same model as Caitians, and can go barefoot in casual wear.
