Anyone knows of anything that would bring in more folks to STO these days. I know we are running the Breach events, smaller weekend stuff and perhaps MU/AOS/CE but really no more goodies in terms of content before summer event/expansion? PvE queues getting harder to fill up again (except for weekend events) and the Colony Sim channels work OK but getting tired of same old stuff.
Are there any other FE's perhaps coming up or why not make AOS like events last a little longer than just one weekend? Spring/Fall are usually not heavily populated in STO historically.
IMO it would be nice to get a Roadmap announcement from MR EP (exec producer) or any devs once in a while to see whats coming up?. In the old days, STO used to have lots of blogs associated with major expansions but seems kind of quiet these days. Can't wait for some ACTION finally to arrive here...SPRING is here!

They rarely ever, ever do this, and I've never seen them do what you claim in 7 years. They give hints, and a couple of blogs before a major release and that is it. We will probably see 3 more Episodes before the Expansion hits after the Summer event.
The problem with giving too much information out to the public, is the public then wants their 2 cents worth and the fallout is usually epic when it's not implemented. This is not a democratically controlled game, this is a business.

They even used the word roadmap a few times. I guess through time these have come and gone. However, there was LOTs of communications in the past that leaves today a mere shadow of what used to be to keep players informed. Just putting it out there for those to see pre-DStahl days and now.
Steve "SalamiInferno" Ricossa is the Executive Producer right now.

Only problem is that, when that happens, people get their hopes up, create fallacious pedestals, and then lash out when those fictions actually DON'T happen.
it's exactly why i haven't been around. the game is oversaturated with too much grindaholic content and not enough relevant content. i mean one PvE mission every quarter year is rather slim pickings compared to the rather useless fleet project for a statue for example.
Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

This is an expansion year, mind you. So yes releases haven't been fast and frequent, but we get ViL soon.
It'll probably pick up then
I'd LOVE to know what other F2P games you play that have so much conteent.
1) I think you're exaggerating how often new episodes usually come out. New episodes usually follow the lock box rotation, so we at the minimum can look forward to 1 episode every 3 months, so 4 episodes a year. Remember it takes them time to make each episode. Also,
2) Cryptic is actually releasing content for this game on a regular basis. It's a matter of what you consider to be content. Let's take a look back the last 3 years worth of anniversaries.
2015
- Episodes: Dust to Dust, Romulan Mystery revamp (Emperess Sela, Desperate Measures, Shadow Play, Taris), Iconian War (Uneasy Allies, Blood of Ancients, Delta Flight, House Pegh, Time in a Bottle, Broken Circle, Butterfly, MIdnight), Future Proof (Sunrise, Stormbound), Cardassian Struggle revamp (Lost and Found, Spoils of War, Jabberwocky, The Factory, The New Link)
- Many new ships released throughout the year
- Sector Space revamp, Bridge officer training revamp, Command Specialization, Pilot Specialization expanded to full w/ Pilot ships, Admiralty System, Drydocking, Iconian and Terran Reputations
- Badlands Battlezone introduced, several new queued PvEs
Note: They will likely never release so many episodes in a 6 month period as they did for this year.
2016 - the 50th anniversary year
- Episodes: Time and Tide, Temporal Front, Agents of Yesterday (Tutorial for TOS Fed, In the Shadow of Cestus, Painful Omens, Return to Babel, Tangled Webs, Battle of Caleb IV), Yesterday's War (The Core of the Matter, Vorgon Conclusions, Terminal Expanse), Temporal Reckoning, Ragnarok, Echoes of Light
- More new ships released throughout the year, T6 Flagships, T6 Kelvin Constitution and T6 Prime constitution included.
- Skill system revamp, Strategist secondary specialization, Romulan Admiralty campaign, Temporal Operative specialization, Temporal reputation track
- Station K-13 as a fleet holding
2017-TNG 30th anniversary year
- Episodes: Of Signs and Portents, Mirrors and Smoke, Survivor, Brushfire, Beyond the Nexus, Melting Pot
- Tier 6 ships expanded more with Multi mission explorers, 26th century ships, new allied species ships, Miracle worker ships
- Lukari reputation, Competitive reputation, Miracle Worker Specialization, Kit R&D crafting school, Ferengi Admiralty campaign, Endeavor system, Player Potential system
- Dranuur Colony fleet holding, Alpha quadrant expansion
- Arena of Sompek and Kobayashi Maru special events
Note: I know that this is rather light compared to the others, but then again, we know that they have been working on the expansion since they did a teaser of it at STLV.
This is an actual Expansion year, since they teased Victory is Life for Summer of this year way back at Las Vegas in August. Seasons are smaller updates that can expand the game, but usually aren't as big as actual expansions (like AoY).
With the announcement of the Constable specialization, we're surely going to get another episode with Season 14.5 and what other else is coming in.
It is, season 14.5 was officially announced with the Constable specialization.
Notable missions: Apex [AEI], Gemini [SSF], Trident [AEI], Evolution's Smile [SSF], Transcendence
Looking for something new to play? I've started building Foundry missions again in visual novel form!
Oh I dunno, I think it's a great game and they're releasing an enhanced edition soon.

That's not the game that annemarie is playing. What you linked to is Neverwinter Nights, which is a different game from Cryptic's Neverwinter.
So what's in 14.5? Is the Constable spec the only thing happening? It is only almost April and 2 more long months before ViL. Where are ANY communications regarding what's planned in between. Is the First contact day and perhaps a small weekend event it? Any NEW queues or even a new FE coming up on 14.5?

Is there anything else planned to make it worthwhile to even play STO until ViL gets around? Anyone knows of anything else besides summer event coming up? Can't wait for anything FUN to get injected here... not just same old FEs with different shinies till your eyes bleed from grinding.
Original STO beta tester.
> It's only April and it feels like players are not very active in STO. With the last nerf of colony sims now is even hard to team up for anything. 14.5 was just an April's fools joke of content IMO. Heck even forums seem boring these days.

There are tons of foundry missions.
There won't be anything except for the summer event, which will probably start shortly before ViL. Might be another round of Arena of Sompek again, or Kobayashi Maru, but otherwise won't be anything new until June-ish.
