Ah that's too bad mang, was hoping they'd be able to help you. They might have restored your ship and all it's gear. Like I said when you did it, support restored a character of mine with an inventory full to the brim of epic coals and other ship gear I forgot about when I deleted her, they got it back to me within the day. They were able to because I realised what I'd done instantly, exited the game and emailed support right then and there. They questioned me about using the slot I had her in and if I had made any other toon with the same name, I said nope, and simple as that they fixed it. It wasn't even an account rollback because everything on my other toons was just as I had left them.

I think you furthered your mistake by continuing to play, trying to get onto tribble (I'm sure they can read your account info in their database and don't really need a screenie) and especially using the ship slot you vacated, they told me stuff gets overwritten when that happens. Probably should have stopped and got actual help immediately rather than taking it to chat and the forums etc.

I doubt having gone to Tribble made much of a difference. As for having used the vacated ship slot, shouldn't matter much either: the ship is still on Tribble, so they can see the gear I had on it, and see that I don't have said gear any more on holodeck.

If you discard a ship to make space for a new one, I imagine they can't restore the discarded ship when you no longer have a slot to put it in. I'd also guess they can't just take what you have on tribble as legit.

I'm assuming our situations were different anyway, toon data would be near the top level of an account and be easier to fix by removing a simple [deleted] tag or whatever, a ship would require someone to dig into the data, and if you've opened ships, moved gear around and played with some of it on the bugship like you mentioned, it would require someone sifting though logs. Probably something they're less able or willing to do.

The ship doesn't need to be restored. :) Ironicallly, before discharging it, I asked around and made sure I could reclaim it, later on. :P

And why would they not be able to take what I have on Tribble as legit? It's just a snapshot of my toon, at one point. In the end, all I really asked for to be restored, are the Epic Dyson Engine + Epic Dyson Warpcore (primarily because grinding another 1,500 Dyson Marks is annoying).

They're totally in their right to deny my request, of course; but if they can see how much money I'm spending on this game (*g*), then I can only hope someone over there will have enough common sense to realize I'm not suddenly going to scam them over 2 pieces of a years-old space set.

Yeah, I discharged a ship with a Mk X Omega Impulse Engine in the visuals slot. I opened a ticket and Cryptic got it back to me.

Another time a Mk 1 Hand Phaser that I had upgrade to Mk14 Epic disappeared out of my inventory, but since I wasn't sure WHEN it disappeared, they couldn't refund it. Now that sucked! Not so much that they couldn't check weeks of logs or whatever to find it, more that THINGS CAN DISAPPEAR FROM YOUR INVENTORY!!! :#
Sometimes I think I play STO just to have something to complain about on the forums.

Fortunately, my game log showed the exact time I took command of the new Vanguard. So, as I wrote them, it must have happened a few minutes after.

Obviously they can't take your Tribble build as completely solid evidence. Upgrading to Epic and acquiring expensive gear on there is stupidly easy.

True that. But the ship I took the screenshot of has been there for, I dunno, a year maybe?! So, I can only repeat what I said earlier: that if they can see how much money I'm spending on this game (*g*), then I can only hope someone over there will have enough common sense to realize I'm not suddenly going to scam them over 2 pieces of a years-old space set.

Besides, they can check the Holodeck database, and 100% positively verify I possesed the items, at Epic, I'm trying to reclaim. But if they deny the request, so be it.

On the third hand, sometines you log in and every unique item you have is duplicated. One of my toons actually has 3 Shard of Possibilities, (1 VR, 2 Epic).
That reminds me I lost the Excelsior ship from my account, cannot reclaim it. I wanted to use it during the recruit event but they won’t acknowledge I ever brought it despite still having it on 1 toon with 4 transwarp computer consoles.

As for the duplicate bug one of my toons has 5 Crystalline energy torpedos upgraded to epic and all 5 can be fitted to the same ship. Not as powerfull as it sounds but it sure does look nice.

If you turn on protected status on your gear the ship can not be discharged with the gear on it FYI, and this issue can never happen again.

UPDATE: I heard back from the Escalation team. They said, that while they were unable to verify the loss (kinda odd, really: I gave them plenty detail), they would restore the 2 Dyson items nonetheless, as a courtesy. Which they did! Kudos on a case handled well! :)

Glad you got some of it back.

That at least lessens the impact, it was a mistake anyone could make.
