Quinto is contracted to Paramount for the Trek Films. Wouldn't there be a conflict of interest there with CBS trek? I've seen not any direct CBS connection with any work he has done on TV from 2009 to present.
CBS is currently on track to purchase Viacom and it's subsidiaries (Paramount Studios). If the purchase and merger go through, Trek will be under "one roof" again.
While Midnight's Edge has been sketchy, this is a factual and concise assessment of the CBS/Viacom purchase. Skip to 0:30 to bypass the shilling. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCJQck9DlZs

Just glanced around; the new merger involves: CBS, Viacom and Lionsgate if it were to proceed. So at this point it is just speculation on who the players are. However that could take months if not years to solve the various issues involved to merge operations once more. and even if it is done it might take a few weeks to update the contract and add additional earning opportunities on the big screen than just the films and bit parts here and there.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
If they are going to show Spock, then cast Quinto. He's the right age, he's the "blessed" heir to the role, he does a good job as Spock. If not him, then don't show him on screen.
As for Pike, I'd love to see Bruce Greenwood, but I would get it if they went another direction. Prime Pike technically had two actors anyway (I don't think Jeffrey Hunter was Wheelchair Pike).

I don't know what you mean by "conflict of interest."
And, to be clear, CBS holds most of the cards with the Trek IP; Paramount only holds the film rights. Paramount had to seek a license from CBS to use the Trek IP, which is (at least partially) why they decided to do the separate universe. It is, in some respects, like FOX's relationship with Marvel over the X-Men universe.
Bottom line: I don't see it being much of an issue, if CBS and Quinto want it to be done.

you don't know what a conflict of interest is? Go look it up.
To be clear, Paramount runs their own operation with Trek Films, CBS runs the rest, they both hold their own cards and CBS is in the same position as Paramount, neither of them are more vitally important than the other. They both can use the Trek IP so it isn't a case that CBS can cherry pick the cards however they see fit as you might of implied.
Bottom line is that if Zachary wants to do CBS trek and Paramount trek he needs approval from both sides.

No, I know what a conflict of interest is. My point was, I think you're not using the phrase correctly.
A conflict of interest is when a party engages in some sort of action, whereby they can (at least allegedly) gain some sort of advantage because of holding "interest" of some sort on both sides of the situation. A good example is a politician pushing for an environmental law, but is either backed by or holds stock in an oil company.
Quinto is an actor. He holds no such position of "interest." CBS holds the IP rights, and can use both Spock and Quinto if they so choose. Paramount, as I stated, holds only the film distribution rights (with Bad Robot holding creative control over "original" KT ideas). Nothing there is a conflict of interest.
Now, if CBS wants to cast Quinto as Kelvin Timeline Spock? That may be a conflict, for sure... but even that is not a conflict of interest.
Quinto did VO for STO back when the game first launched, so I don't see what would stop CBS from being able to sign him for one or two episodes on Discovery if they want.
I've read that one theory is that Pike is going to be the next Captain of the Discovery, because his time as Captain of the Enterprise is almost over by this point in the timeline.
