The participation awards are not gratifying themsleves because of their low value nor are they fun to aquire because it does not entail any sort of challenge. To this day, outside my lockbox ships, they only item I can say I am proud to own and show off is my Elite MACO skin that I earned back when skill and teamplay to accomplish an objective mattered.
Fun fact- if you fly under the fortress ship at the end of the mission, the underside of the ship is completely transparent. If you try to fly up to it, your ship is instantly destroyed!

I guess that volume effect that kills you doesn't despawn?

It came up as 4 million "cold damage" from "death" in the damage history.
The biggest issue i have with these events is the length. 3 week duration and gathering 14 items for an event is simply too much of a grind.
Personally i think that a two week event (14 days) and gathering 9 or 10 items is a better setup.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

It's less grindy if instead of turning in the excess transmissions once you reach 14, you hold on to them for the next event. The bonus rewards you get give less dil per transmission once you claim the main reward.
This is why all my toons have saved up 14 of the CE and MI rewards for future events. Not only does this mean less work further down the road, but there's something awesome about claiming the event reward on day one!
