Arc wide maintenance on Wednesday

ambassadorkael#6946 ambassadorkael Member, Administrator Posts: 2,679 Community Manager
Hey folks,

We're going to be experiencing a larger downtime than usual this week for some server maintenance. On Wednesday, maintenance on STO will begin at 5am Pacific and run until at least 2pm Pacific. This will replace the usual maintenance for PC and Console, so there will be no console maintenance tomorrow and no PC maintenance on Thursday. We apologize for this downtime, but it is necessary work being done. We'll be doing some fun events on social media with the Neverwinter team during the downtime, so stay tuned.

7 am to 12 pm my time, so I'll be at work when it's going on. Not surprised to see an international person whinging about it even though a US based company is doing the maintenance at a time during their usual operating hours...

It's coming into Spring, it's time to clean the tribbles out of the engines and blow the dust off and fix that faulty NIC and call the company and get more bandwidth!

7am to "at least" 4pm, mate. You gotta add 2 to both sides for CST. Ask me how I know.

      Has to be done.

Indeed. Guess i'm lucky with working evening shift this week. Arc should be back up at the time i get back home.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

No, it's not a game patch but maintenance of Arc which is kind of the overlay of all the games.
Things like server maintenance usually do not include patches.

You can check the tribble notes to see if the TW problem is rectified there, but the Arc maintenance will not contain a fix.

Yeah there is a new museum opening up and they are taking everything that looks like its from the 1980's so they almost had a heart attack when they saw the game/game engine so its going to take them a very long time to take it and then cryptic to build a new one.

Downtime?? Duh...It's been like that for every game and every server since before people were offended by oxygen... Yet people still act like they just had their dog stepped on.. Clean your rooms...make your kids a meal... take your wife out... take a shower... Give your chair a rest for a shift....

For real 8 hours of server maintenance IS NOT OK.. 2 hours is ok but not 8hr. and it's in my prime play time.

Yeah, it doesn't add up mathematically. Guessing he meant 4pm, not 12pm.

Either way, for Europeans this is a minor inconvenience indeed, I planned on doing some "account maintenance" tomorrow after completing the ship. Well, it will have to wait until next week probably, since I won't be able to wait until 12am or so.

Then again, maybe we will indeed survive this event, and maybe the servers won't survive without it, so good luck.

5am to 2pm, holy carp! that's a long one. 7am to 4pm my time. pretty much count the whole day a loss.
I guess I'll do my 'big' doffing/admiralty today instead of tomorrow as I had planned.

Got DC'd 3 times today. I hope the super-maintenance helps on that? :| Yeah, I didn't believe that as I was typing it.
