It is not true somtaawkhar that maps besides ISA and CAA other never popped. It was also much easier to get players for private matches of those maps. As far as ISA and CCA is concerned, yea they still tend to pop the fastest… it just takes 4-6 times as long for it to happen.
It is also really funny how you switch from players exploiting broken items to now over performing ones we still get with each release from cryptic. They don’t add powercreep?! Wrong, they still do and then it gets nerfed cuz its normal for such games right?
And also no, I’m not telling anybody is an idiot. On the contrary those I noticed leaving over cryptic’s decision-making I considered in game friends.
Just to understand you better here in the forums in the future it would really help me to get two information from you:
1) How may teamed PvE do you play on a daily average and which pool of players do you choose from to play them with?
And To include the discussion about the new colony holding which also has been mentioned as reason for players to leave.
2) How much Dil do you contribute to the holdings of the fleets you are in on a daily average and how much is that of your refinement capacity in %?

I agree that they seem to be repeating the same mistakes. The corrections were necessary and have, I think, promoted diversity but like I said at the time when they were working on the rebalancing: they shouldn't add more power creep.
For a while it seemed they were trying to avoid this, with focussing on defences (critical heals and more resistance through the Miracle Worker tree for example) but with ships getting a 12th console slot and abilities that prolongued the up-time of abilities such as FAW it seems they are creating another cycle of power creep which, evetually, has to be corrected with rebalancing. I probably won't be defending the latter, next time though.
Personally I just try to avoid power creep - most of my builds were largely unaffected because at best I would do somewhere like 60-70k DPS with my exotic builds and usually much less than that, but which is still sufficient for the content I like to play. Choosing not to try and squeeze out a bit more DPS of every build I have when I can already kill the enemies I need to kill, has avoided disappointment for me. Maybe it works for others.
Anyway, to return to the question of this thread: my own fleet has seen a lot more activity lately. Discovery is partly to thank for that, one of our former leaders returned after a long break. We'll see more activity during the Winter event and when Christmas arrives I think, and definitely when the new expansion arrives. There has always been less activity during certain times of the year, as long as Cryptic can avoid the need for a new rebalancing a year or two from now, I think we'll be fine.
It was also much easier to get players for private matches of those maps.
Only because those people were the exploiters
I really wanted to respond to all your points but think it might be better to stop here and simply be done with it.
Nevertheless thanks for answering the questions as they help me a great deal how to interpret you opinions and deal with them adequately in the future.

Yeah, it's time to call this a wrap. Obviously somtaawkhar is going to go to any lengths necessary to champion his white knight cause. So far he's ranged from 'revisionist history,' to outright lying. There is no point in trying to convince someone like that, he's obviously only interested in argument at any cost and has no grip on reality. I had a bunch of replies in the works as well and then just realized that it's a waste of time. You have done an admirable job my friend, but ultimately he has ignored every word you have written.
Still, your efforts are appreciated. Some people are just beyond help.

Though that's probably most easily explained by pointing to the rise of the red alerts as the most popular queue types. A "able to hear a pin drop" effect is less parsimonious (since you have ignore the current time of year, explain away the shift in queue distribution, and take anecdotal evidence at face value, including player testimony on what their burnout can be extrapolated to mean for the population [projection isn't the same as inference.])
The point is that these two queues are still played a lot. Exactly how much is difficult to quantify but the dynamics at work are largely as they've always been. A few top queues get played most and that leaves the rest of the system underpopulated. It's a building facet of Cryptic's queue scheme (add more each season without compensating retirements.) So that leaves one great big shrug to how the game's doing (after all, PVE's are only one part of the game and there's no quantifying shifts to other areas. Ex. missions and zones.) You can try to infer real stats from personal experience but that just highlights why stats are useful in the first place (you don't get far without them.)
So, just hang the sense of it and do what you can with the game. If you have specific feedback, give it. If it's just a general, pervasive sense of doom and despondency, consider where that's coming from and how it can be best addressed. Stay on track with that feedback and don't give into personality-based debates.

Especially that first paragraph is something I agree with. Besides the game always being more silent just before the Winter event arrives, we also have just left behind Mirror Invasion. That also negatively affects how fast a queue such as ISA or CCA starts.
You have to forgive players judging the game based on anecdotal evidence though - as has been said before on these grand discussions: it's all they/we've got.
Sorry mate, you really are confused today aren't you. Peter is absolutely correct, you are not. The proof is simple, go to the game, see how many are playing now given the rebalance and the terrible queue UI, by every measurable means it is way less than before these two systems were implemented, and if you can't see that then you are living in cloud cuckoo land.
The proof is simple? I was playing earlier today and the two queues everyone played before the revamp ISA and CAA, were still being played, and all the others which no one payed were still not being played.
You really can't make any argument beyond
>NUH UH! UR WRONG!
Can you?
What they are saying about the queue UI is 100% correct, and has been discussed at length in numerous threads. Seems like you're the one here to play devil's advocate. And what you said about fleet management reads like someone with no experience managing a fleet whatsoever. "That only happens if fleet leaders don't allow people to fill up projects" yeeeeaaaahhhh
It seems like you came on here to be combative with as many people as possible.
You do realize that the player declained happens as often as it does because of something I JUST mentioned in the post...right? Reading ain't your strong suit is it. Yes there are some legit people who decline. But it went from this happening like less that 5% of the time to 80%+ of the time if it isn't a red alert and like 50% of the time for a red alert. I will get player declained 3 or 4 times before a CCA pops because of this not working BS. And other queues are even worse. So yeah, it ain't working.
I did read what you wrote, and, again, I DO NOT EXPERIENCE SAID PROBLEM. If I join a queue, and it gets matched, I rarely have a failure to join a queue due to player declines afterward.
You have such a backward notions of thinking that if people don't agree with you, they must not have read your post.

Oh goodie, use the sword to pry open the queue interface screen and see why I have to open that all the time every to join a Red Alert queue instead of clicking on the button in the main interface when I warp to the Red Alert in sector space. Seriously.. in order to queue for Red Alerts I have to open the queue interface and then click on the sector space button to get it to actually join.
