It be nice if they gave a Ship Console Upgrade... to be purchased for T5U or T6 ships -even if- they are not universal consoles; but selected based the class or how cryptic wanted to extend each class of starship. <3 Someone claimed they lost one Lt bridge seating but it's not quite entirely true cause all Tier 6 ships have a total of 5 seat's just some have 1 Ensign, 1 Lt., 2 Lt.Comm, and 1 Commander or they have 3 Lt., 1 Lt Comm., 1 Commander generally.

I know this is nitpicking, since it is in itself an exception, but at least the Nandi offers 6 seats (1 com, 1 lt com, 2 each of lt and ensign). Generally the ability to slot more boff space abilities seems to be regarded higher than the loss of ability level.

But again, single exceptions from all these rules do exist. Maybe one day there will be a three hangar ship? 5/4 weapons? All nifty (and selling points, which of course is important for Cryptic), but not intrinsically a game breaker.

    Yea I realize.

I was simply stating the perceptions. A Rare T6 Ships after all only have 10 consoles and it's how you know which ones need to be upgraded with fleet upgrades; then they given the 11th once made Very Rare or Fleet.

Generally however a Fleet Starship is a bit more capable than a non fleet T6 Starship even if Very Rare; so while you pay an extra 500 zen for each fleet ship you unlock you gain something as well.

Still I think many would have had no issues if they just enhanced the Innovation Mechanic more and kept it to 11 consoles with the additional +10 power. I might even agree there - but at some point they need something to draw people into the new ships.

Yeah I think the same way myself. THough i actually think that if they worked this universal console slot into a different concept, like that you could slot any universal console (but not tactical/engineering/science specific console) into it regardless of the normal ship-specific requirement it might have gone over better. An yet still might have been quite appealing to see as it would have opened up a lot of variety in builds, and uses for otherwise really good/fun consoles that were locked to certain specific ships.

Thought I think maybe them moving the universal console idea to single ship releases might make such ships a easier buy, if the universal console slot being part of the normal 11/12 layout not an additional console slot/s on top of them. I mean imagine if you had two ships that had pretty similar ship stats, but one of them had all of their 11/12 consoles slots laid out like many others, but the other had a similar layout yet with three of those slots turned into universal slots (still both having 11/12 slots total.). The sheer fact that you had more variety in how you can build the second ship using those multiple universal slots to me makes the second ship more appealing, as I could slot all tactical into them for more power, or all engineering for more defensive power, or all science for more debuffs/healing/control effects.

The Miracle Worker Mega Bundle ships are getting an extra console slot and more power according to the announcement posted on the site. It looks like T6 cruisers could possible get this feature with an upgrade similar to what happened to the T5 ships. Are T6U ships coming?
    No.

REASON NUMBER ONE-The 12th console is a feature for Miracle Worker ships ONLY. If there are any higher or lower tiers, the Miracle Worker ships will get +1 Universal console slot always.

REASON NUMBER TWO-T6 ships satisfied the biggest problem the devs had with endgame(T5) ships: BOFF seating/console slot combinations. Endgame ships started to be too similar to each other. With the addition of specialization seating, there are orders of magnitude more BOFF seating combinations, so the diversity of ships became more than enough. And if they get back to the same problem again, they can just add a new specialization. A higher ship tier is unneeded.

We have escorts with a special exclusive weapon slot, sci ships with secondary deflectors, so thats both Tac & Sci ships getting something exclusive. Even if this is a "12th console" its just balancing that for Engineering. No reason to be worried about "T6U" or the ridiculous and repeatedly denied/debunked T7 doomsayers.
No, Escorts do not have an exclusive weapon slot. Destroyers, Raptos, Raiders and even some Warbirds get that same weapon slot. Also, no, not every science ship got Secondary Deflectors. Just Science Vessels and Scout ships with some Warbirds getting them as well - Science-oriented Carriers did not get Secondary Deflectors.

The 12th console is specifically just for Miracle Worker ships, not Engineering-focused ships.

They have no official name yet. :) I just call them 'effectively T6-U', but anything goes, T6.5 included. There are those who say a ship like the Valkis is de facco T7-like. I don't care. But a 12th console, to me, really is a major thing; so much so, that I think T6-U, T6.5, T6+, etc, are all good to denote these ships definitely are of a higher class.
Yes they do. They're called "Miracle Worker ships".

Yeah saw the extra power levels and extra universal console slot. That's basically T6U. Selling us more power creep after nerfing the old into the ground. No thanks.
No, it's just T6. The bonus powerlevelsand console slot are features of Miracle Worker ships, nothing more.

It sounds like the Miracle Worker ships are just the OP flavored ships of the week then.
We asked Borticus on the livestream about the 12th console slot. He said it was specific to the Miracle Worker ships only and would not be rolled out to other cruisers. He also said that if there was a T7 ship then the Miracle Worker would effectively get another console as well, making it 13 consoles, so this in no way is a prelude to T7 ships.

From what I am understanding, all Miracle Worker ships will be getting the additional universal slot. If that is the case, I could see the Anniversary ship possibly being the "Free" Miracle Worker ship everyone gets.

As for T7, it appears those Miracle Worker ships could still OP, having 13 console slots. I believe we will need to see how the ships perform once they hit Holodeck and whether the nerf hammer hits the ships hard or at all.

Pretty much. I mean we'll probably get lockbox'd Miracle Worker ships down the line like we've been getting of other spec ships(like the Husnok ship being a Command ship or the Sphere Builder ships being Temporal), but considering that the blog(and this week's livestream) well-defined these traits as Miracle Worker ship-specific traits, that'll probably be the extent of this 'style' of ships.

This raises a few questions for me. What constitutes a Miracle Worker ship? Is it only these 3 or will there be more? Does it have to be a cruiser?

Having a MW boff seat isn't enough since a ship like the Tzenkethi Shuk-din Escort has a Lt MW seat and only 11 consoles.

The problem I see is that there is no draw back to this ship. What is the trade off? Turn rate is standard for cruisers. Considering the potency of some consoles out there, a 12th console slot is a bit too much of a wild card.

Of course there will be more.

There have also been more Intel, Command, Pilot and Temporal ships besides the initial release.

Well...maybe. The number of ships they have released with cmdr spec seating beyond the orginal ones is a pretty small list...and the ToS ships almost don't count.

Yea not that many. Here is a list of the specialized ships so far. :)

    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Ability:_Gather_Intelligence

    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Ability:_Inspiration_Abilities

    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Ability:_Pilot_Maneuvers

    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Ability:_Molecular_Reconstruction

@robdmc question if the new ones have to be a cruiser is also interesting. When I look at the list only the Pilot attributes where limited to escort like crafts. Sona sci is also the only exception for a command science ship. Cryptic managed to keep the decision making here somewhat canonical as well as logical so far.

Given that I speculate that we will have limitation with the new specialization to engineering heavy ships. I could live with that. I don’t think this game really needs sci or tac focused ships with 6 respective department console slots either.

But who knows. One thing is for sure. Despite their looks the new ships will sell well thanks to the new stuff. Can’t imagine what a promotional Galax Class or Vor’cha with miracle worker spec would generate an revenue.
