With today's update I can't seem to go more than a couple of minutes without getting a Server Not Responding that lasts a minimum of 20 seconds and as often as not results in a disconnect. Anyone else?
don't worry you r are not alone in this issue. Actually logging back in is also an issue too and unfortunately has been since the beginning of the season 14 update. Nor that this makes you feel better i'm sure, but at least you know it isnt your hardware.
Yea i'm having all the same problems related to network connectivity with the game since Season 14 started; lag, long load times, frozen load screens, loading into an area but clicking on things on the screen does nothing, disconnects, etc....etc..... I normaly NEVER have any lag at all. I live VERY close to the game servers so this is DEFINITELY a game issue on their end.
These are some examples of the network issues I've been having since S14. The game is barely playable, although intermittently the issues go away for a few minutes.
after logging in, the preview on the character selection screen does not load or only partially (showing away team but not ship)
loading a map, e.g. it can take minutes to jump from 98.07% to 98.12% and then timeout
walk (after a few minutes or so I'm snapped back to where I was)
collect R&D / admiralty / doff projects
queue reputation projects
use the exchange
When I run mtr (a hybrid between traceroute and ping) on the IP-addresses I see GameClient.exe connecting to, I see packet loss and high ping on the second last hop. I suspect this is related and indicates some problem within the Cryptic network.
I was fine, the some lag, until today 7 Oct. I can't log in I get to Account connecting & then nothing, the loading screen just disappears. SO frustrating
Started happening to me yesterday, 7 October. Server not responding on almost every map, patching while loading maps get stuck at 0, also the launcher takes quite a long to allow me to enter password. And when it works, it's extremely lagged.
Checked my internet connection just in case, but everything else works perfectly fine.
It's really annoying. Hope they don't wait until Thursday to fix this...
Same here. I left for a week long trip and when I returned yesterday 11/4/17 I did the patch post season start and now the account server will not connect to save its life. Only by doing a hodge podge of alt-tab can I get it to stay connected long enough to load my captains and crews on the character select screen however that is as far as it will go as by attempting to load into the game world itself will merely cause direct server timeout and drop me back to the login screen. This isn't an issue with ISP as I can easily load any other MMO or load into a multiplayer CIV match and it works without so much as a slight sneeze. This has been an ongoing issue with Cryptic for years and were on the verge of minimizing the timeout errors however due to the season start and 11/3/17 patch it just fails every single time.
I know his might be a bit harsh but don't you think Cryptic it might be time to consider a new team to work the server side back end or perhaps a beefier hosting platform? The tests are showing connection timeouts as well as packet loss so there is a break somewhere in the hosting platforms so maybe a server shutdown and restart "could" patch up the data leaks causing the packet losses and at the same time "could" alleviate the connectivity and timeout errors. Just a thought at least.
I started seeing the same issues two days ago myself. When I run a tracert everything appears fine, but the pathping check indicates a serious problem on the second to last hop:

In such cases I just switch over to using a VPN exclusively for STO..I use cyberghost and works ok, not great though..Everything else works fine without a VPN its only STO that throws a random tantrum..
