Okay, definitely the best episode yet. And holy cameos, Batman! We got Liam Neeson, James Morrison (T.C. McQueen from Space: Above and Beyond), and next week Charlize Theron.

I liked it. It had the premise of the old 1973 sci-fi series, "The Starlost," which featured a similar plot of a colony ship with people on board noting knowing that they were on a bio-sphere ship. Even though I've only heard of the classic series, I think this episode pays a nice tribute to it.

There are parts i like and parts i didn't like, so honestly i found this episode somewhat average. like episode two.
I was kind of hoping Robert Knepper had a bit more of an antagonistic role and the issue between Klyden and Bortus was dropped part way into the episode and not really knowing what Klyden was referring to specifically. Also there was frequent use of a specific male organ, perhaps too much.

On the plus side is the exploration side of a large alien ship, and aliens that are not as tolerant of outsiders on first appearance.
    T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW.

The plot is a hell of a lot older than that. I immediately thought of "For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky", from TOS (right down to the poetic episode title). One might also consider parts of the cave parable in Plato's Republic.

it is like a tos episode in tng setting.

    That's exactly what it is.

Funny, I think the last time I saw Robert Knepper not playing a bad guy on TV, was on his appearance in TNG.

I still cant believe how good a sci fi show his is, considering its supposed to be a comedy.

The only thing i remember of Robert Knepper was his role as "T-Bag" in Prison Break and again as Simeon in SGU. I half expected Robert to play the role of some violent bad guy with some smart thinking. While i don't condone the characters actions he has played, he has done a really good job with his characters.

That's one of the TOS episodes I never ready watch, or only watch once. I'm mostly into TOS episodes that I've re-watch, mostly from the 1st season.

That was an impressive selection of guest stars. Especially nice to see Colonel McQueen again. ;)

Pretty early I though this might be a call back to that episode, and I was right. Though of course, the events that happen are different.

The plot seemed a bit too straightforward... There wasn't really much tension there, and the "villain" seemed overall a bit underused.

Another "Wow!" from me. I didn't vote "Nexus" because I need to seriously readjust. I thought it was supposed to be a comedy while still managing to do a Star Trek impersonation. It becomes more and more apparent this simply IS Star Trek that merely tries to inject more fun in itself (and I do laugh at least at some points). Frankly I'm fine with both options, but the second one requires a bit harsher judgement, so:

This sure was a good episode, but it wasn't much of a surprise that the ship's inhabitants were oblivious to their condition. For a more serious sci-fi, showing how the people (power structure - in this case the "villain") start coming to terms with the new situation would be far more interesting than merely proving they're wrong. As others said, this was a bit straightforward.

But hey, I'm really happy Star Trek is back. This is sort of a good reboot, same stories ("soul") with different characters and a different touch. (Yes, could be called a copy, but that's what we bloody needed after all those years without Trek.)

Took me a while to find time to watch this week...got to it today.

OMG....the space battle was sooooo bitchin'.
(Much better than the snoozefest that was space battle on ST:Discovery.)

Story was OK....happy ending...I am good with it this week.
And that guy really was a TRIBBLE.

Definitely liking the tos style stories from 3 and 4. Not quite Nexus level on 4 because it wasn't quite as compelling as 3, but still a very strong showing.

Very surprised by the direction the series is going. Even the comedy portion of it seems toned done compared to what I was expecting, and less and it's be almost straight up tos.

I would have liked this episode more if it weren't a rehash of "For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky".
Which itself was a rehash of concepts from Heinlein's Orphans in the Sky and Aldiss' Non-Stop. There are very few ideas in SF that haven't already been dealt with by someone...
