It was always Cryptic, never CBS. They were the convenient scapegoats. Keep it out of reach until a fortune could be made.

while i don't support this idea, i have to say that the size of the ship wouldn't be an issue mostly 'cuz cryptic usually can change it by their wishes. like they did with the xindi narcine carrier.
Hope the Dev's can see that there would be money in releasing Borg ship in a Lockbox and promo. Maybe the Tac cube in a promo pack, and a regular cube, sphere, diamond in a lock box? After the T6 never going to happen endgame Connie, everything is Playable now. Heck we have the universe class too!
You don't think they'd know they'd make a ton of money off of a pure Borg lockbox? Of course they do...either they're saving it for a rainy day or are restricted from doing it
Can't have a honest conversation because of a white knight with power
I can see it in an R and D promo pack but that it... Look forget it about it ... Look what happened to the Enterprise J, Romulan, Klingon ship promo. They were a hot ship and people were flying it ... but after a week or 2 it all but disappeared.

Cryptic has said many times that playable Borg ships would never happen, largely because the cubes, spheres, and diamonds don't move in a way that all other ships do, making flying them look stupid and not really work.
Cryptic said for a long time there would never be an endgame level TOS Connie.... nothing is set in stone. Especially if there is a lot of money to be made.
Endgame Miranda was also a taboo subject on the boards. But guess what's coming soon?

The Lukari ship is a triangle and that seems to work ok....
Well with the reasoning they gave for cubes etc, a triangle is different because they can give it an obvious front end, and on the Lukari ship they did just that.
Except that is in no way immediately obvious when flying the thing, and your camera is stuck on its "back"
So make it a Tac cube with armor on it that happens to look like an arrow pointing forward.
Never had an issue piloting Borg cubes in other games. No reason for it to be some insurmountable obstacle here.
Then how does this logic sound. The say it is something they cannot do, because they just plain don't want to bother? All I know is this topic comes up often, way too often. Peace and out of it.
Yeah, pretty much could tell who made that comment without even seeing the poster's name.

You know, I've been thinking about the idea of playable Borg ships.
And while I particularly don't agree that we should never get to play Borg cubes or spheres, I believe that there are a few examples of Borg ships from the various series we could be able to play.
I think they'd make good up coming ships for a Borg inspired lock box even.
1. The renegade Borg ship
2. The Borg assimilated transport from Enterprise.
I think the Renegade ship would make a good destroyer and the assimilated transport could be either a science or escort and since these ships weren't part of the collective's "standard" armaments, one could argue they weren't "God ships", or too powerful for players.
They could be fit into the story as Seven's Cooperative ships, made available via the Ferengi consortium
We already have Borg inspired ships in game with the Talshiar adapted ships. It could be along those lines.
I also think that maybe, one could even suggest that a playable sub faction, could be the "Borg Cooperative", which a player could ally themselves with either of the three factions, and would have assimilated ships from whichever faction they align to, (assimilated federations ships, Klingon, or Romulan.)
Most of these would be already ingame and would only require a borg reskin, like maybe the assimilated transport.
These characters would be different than the liberated characters lifetime players can play, because these characters would still have most if not all of their implants, retaining more of their Borg feel.
Ultimately, Cryptic or CBS or whoever has a say in it can at any point change his or her opinion and a few weeks later we might get a playable Cube. I think, just as with the Connie, Cryptic is aware that some people would really like to fly one of those, and some people really think it would be silly.
I think the latter group is not generally seen as the deciding factor. The group of people that would leave the game and/or stop spending moneyon the gameover "such silliness" is not that big, the majority of them probably already left with the Undine lockbox and lobi ships.

If the cube is moving forward? yeah pretty sure the way its heading is the front of the ship
Lets talk turning the turning would be different since a cube does not bank , it would simpy rotate and move in the direction so its turn rate would be terrible.
Climbing it would have to climb verticle ince again its does not bank or move like a normal ship, a cube could be playable easily but it would take a little getting use to the controls but not impossible.
I don't think cubes should be playable. The smaller probes or spheres...maybe.
Still, I'm not thrilled with the idea. Perhaps borgified fed/rom/kling ships? Something like the TS-Adapted. Probably wouldn't happen either. The Tal Shiar Adapteds are a result of their messing around with Borg tech. And the other factions wisely don't mess with that stuff.
Cubes are just too large. Much like the E-J. Which I do not like at all.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything.
