I'm told Elite missions are for players that want a "challenge." Well, there you go. Enjoy, I guess. Apparently people that fly around in mk15 gear were bored, and needed this. I'm told.
I've been having trouble getting Delta marks lately and it's one of only three queues in the game that will drop non-daily Delta marks, but I'm certainly not queuing for any Elite missions on a new alt. Especially not on that monster.
I believe it was a purposeful exaggeration to make a point.

I usually pug korfez daily so am used to what to expect. But Korfez now is basically impossible.
Gave it a go after s13 launched and quickly decided to not bother until it's altered. First part is a bloodbath, of human players. 2 players quickly rage quit, I stuck around after dying a couple times. Managed to kite one vaudwaar escort away from the rest, then spent the rest of the count down timer trying to kill it by myself.
I'm all for hard content and sticking with it but with a timer count down, this seems pretty impossible content atm.
I'm no DPS king but have mostly gold gear and was doing 40-60k dps before season 13 on my engy toon.
Hope it gets rescaled soon. Korfez was one of my staple queues to join.
Q: If SubNuc is required to complete this STF, and there aren't that many Sci players in the game as it is (let alone any at this level of play), what does that mean for team composition, as well as game design?
EDIT (To clarify, my position is directed to the lower population of active Science Captains that can and want to do Elite content. This was further exacerbated within the DPS community as a whole, since the mantra of, "If you want to do DPS, roll Tac." was echoed repeatedly, and rightly so due to the state of mechanics at that time):
A: SubNuc is not required, but would make the fight a lot easier.

It seems like it is not required?
In another note, I wish Cryptic would re-introduce the old Korfez and set it up as an "Advanced" queue. Eventually maybe we can get an even more scaled down version as its "Normal" version.

Correct. I had to adapt to the situation to overcome the challenge (which I like). I will want to test again to be sure before posting the build (re: trait and BOff changes). Have heart, @reyan01 , Sci-Torp Captains can do well in Korfez.
What IS annoying, though, is that the little annoying gnats are as hard to take out as the Arties. Are the shield resists and drain resistance for those mobs that high across the board? Might as well have nothing but Artillery ships in there, at least that won't be immersion-breaking when I drop several HY's on them.
Yeah, it's all cute and all the Elitists pushed us out of Fez, but how dafuq am I going to get my Ancient Power cells then?! Thru a mission, that is. Meant to get the Neutronic torp for my Rom alt too.
Fez needs to exist on Advanced too. Period. And, correspondingly, offer 1 Ancient Power cell.

Kobali. the last two missions give a choice of APC or the Iconian stuff.

Yeah, but that's ground, right? I needz space. I don't do ground, especially not on Advanced (needed for the Power cells?). I'm still recovering from the that hellish Vaadwaur ground experience in the middle of the Delta rep.
You can get two APCs and two Iconian Probe Datacores per day by running the open Missions 'At the Gates' and 'The Last Stand' twice. Very easy and if they pop you could be done with your APC run in less than 10 minutes.

Ok, I understand Cryptic doesn't want us to complete Fez too easily, but I'm not sure that invisible walls are a valid nerf technique...

Buggy parts are 2:31 - 7:21 and 9:23 - 10:33, where I just got stuck behind invisible wall, with no apparent way out, other than death. Couldn't select most and shoot any enemies. Team was good enough, so we still managed to beat it though.

I pugged it about 5 times, did not make it past the first wave even once. It is absurdly hard to the point of being hilarious, but I loved it. Each time I took a tremendous beating and kept charging back in for more. I put up a fleet event this week just to take on this queue, and see if the best in the fleet can do it. I think it really is a true test, no win scenario. You know you're going to die but you charge heroically from the trenches anyway!! Glorious!
Well we had another unplanned go last night and got to stage 3, unfortunately it was the Benthans which was rather like pouring salt in the wound lol. Great fun, will add video when it's finished uploading. @borticuscryptic please please don't mess with this, best challenge for years!!!!
I love me a good challenge too. And I don't mind a single Korfez, really (if it stays at this 1 insane queue). But I also wouldn't mind if they offered it at Advanced, at some point.
I can do like reyan01, and try and get past the first wave; but, knowing myself, I know the fun will wear off, sooner rather than later, when you realize there's no way you'll ever make it. All challenges should, IMHO, inherently contain the potential of eventually being able to get to your goal. And if 99.9% of the player base can't do it, I feel the mission should be offered at a lower Grade. And then you can keep your current Fez 'as is'.
I did 48k once, after Season 13, in CSA; but that means nothing: prior to S13, for comparison, I usually did like 14-18k in Fez (the maps's vastly different from ISA, where highest I ever did was 78k). So, long story short, I have nowhere near what it takes to take on Fez Elite -- hearing you just did 50k in it.

Indeed.
There's a feeling you get when you realize the best person in the instance is yourself. Also, one when you realize it is not.
