A normie goes "Oh, what's this?"
An otaku goes "UwU, what's this?"
A furry goes "OwO, what's this?"
A werewolf goes "Awoo, what's this?"
"It's nothing personal, I just don't feel like I've gotten to know a person until I've sniffed their crotch." "We said 'no' to Mr. Curiosity. We're not home. Curiosity is not welcome, it is not to be invited in. Curiosity...is bad. It gets you in trouble, it gets you killed, and more importantly...it makes you poor!"
Passion and Serenity are one.
I gain power by understanding both.
In the chaos of their battle, I bring order.
I am a shadow, darkness born from light.
The Force is united within me.

Yeah that is why I think the only weapons on the pets that need a buff in firing arc is merely the dual cannons, as well as dual heavy cannons, which have the exceedingly small 45 degree arc that makes them lag behind in performance compared to other pets(just kicking this up to 65-70 degrees exclusively on hanger pets would help.). An so a arc mod that moves the firing arc of the weapon by one arc size (360,250,180,90,45 degrees are the known firing arcs for weapons.), if it was applied to just dual/dual heavy cannons would make those cannon using pets more competitive to beam using ones.
From the console side of things, [PS4 for me], pets are nothing more than a small buff to the ship. We have no commands to control them. Just launch and check your HUD ever so often to see if they are still alive. I've had a Heavy Escort Carrier since late December and I have seen them do little to help me. Never had a group of 6 fighters destroy even the smallest of enemy ships [excluding enemy fighters]. So much so, I don't even bother to launch them half the time in battle now.
I doubt any balancing that comes to the PS4 down the road will change that. The power for my ship comes from it being an "escort" ship. Nothing should be done to change that.
Lock Trajectory doesn't kill engines at all, its not supposed to, it sets inertia to zero and boosts turn rate by 100%/150%/200% depending on rank, while maintaining speed so to can keep an enemy in your targeting arc.
I don't have the Elite Callistos yet, but I've heard Lock Trajectory 1 actually works pretty well for for keeping the Elite Callistos on target when it's up.
Of course if the arc of it's weapons become 360 degrees then they could find another Pilot or Intel power to replace it.
buffs to pets are nice... but it doesnt mean jack if they lag behind you 20+ km away preventing you from summoning anymore. the moment you drop out of "Red Alert" the pets should all teleport directly next you, either being locked into a V formation as you travel at full impulse or auto dock back into the carrier/ship.
Lock Trajectory is indeed pointless on pets. You need only look at the Tzenkethi using it to see the state of the AI when it comes to piloting.
definitely agree here it really is a useless ability, ive had the pets with this on, and found them using the ability and was a waste of time, forcing them further away from combat, if they wanna give them abilities, firstly the specific pets for each ship type, sud match the specialist seating that the ship has, and have one that actually is useful, not a total useless thing and poss have abilities that effect the Team, even if it just effects the other pets. Would also be nice if the tact consoles boosted the pets that match the weapon type/ or weapon type...

freelancer's engine kill is far better, and that game is so much more simplistic than STO

I am 100% behind this.
