I have to agree - Nabreeki is perhaps the most qualified member of the forums for a stint as a mod. His deep wells of wisdom combined with the charisma he radiates are the perfect combination of traits for a moderator on this forum - even before you take into account his long experience with this community and abiding love for the game.

Anyway, Jo, we should definitely elevate this issue.
I did pass this topic up.
And strictly speaking for myself, I'd welcome having more people taking care of the forum issues. More people = faster response and also, mind you, less risk of burning out, as you don't handle it all, no matter what. The trick is also finding the right folks for the task too. That's all I can say on the topic, really.
I'd be happy for Nabreeki to do this, though I don't know him in-game.
As I'd said earlier, I'd throw my hat in there, being in the UK, to cover UK/EU timezones.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.
Just a reminder, Nabreeki, if you become a mod, you won't be able to openly display your approval of cultural genocide towards the Bajorans and others anymore.
One mod was kicked out because he opposed the Klingon l.esbian couple in Broken Circle, after all.

With forum moderation, it seems to be that it's less about finding folks who are up to the task and more about identifying who the task has already found.

the former mod was voicing real life bigotry. cardasian/bajoran conflict is an in universe story element, the same as the empire/rebellion in star wars. dont conflate the 2 things like they are the same, that is disgusting.
Let's not derail the thread, I was joking, hence the smiley.
Though, you do bring an interesting point.
As well behaved as this forum is, I think Jan is more than enough. In fact, I imagine she doesn't have much to do in the way of moderation, except the occasional thread lock or friendly warning.
Nabreeki is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I've ever known in my life.

l don't know.
l really don't know what l'm about to say, except l have a feeling about it.
That l must repeat the words that come without my knowledge.'
I'm closing this. With the thread being put up to consideration to higher-up places, which I believe was OP's idea, this has turned into unofficial moderator applications instead and a wee bit of a derail. Thank you everyone for remaining civil.

Won't hurt my feelings if I get refused either, just trying to volunteer to help out. I'm here a lot anyway, mostly surfing this forum.
