console forums

why are there no forums dedicated to the XB1 or PS4 every time we console players encounter a issue or bug we have to post on the pc forums where we get put down or out rite abused by the elitists, also the issues raised are seldom looked into/resolved due to the fact the pc players do not experience the same issues we do.

Please don't add a console forum, instead add console 'forums', as in separate XBO and PS4 forums. If you can make the games for separate platforms, it stands to reason that you can provide the forums to properly support them as well.

The OP's post makes me want to agree.

It wasn't the logic of it though...

Reported bugs are investigated as long as it is reported in the support sub-forum; just state [PS4] or [XB1] or even [Console] in the title of the thread. As for how long it takes to fix a bug... that is unknown. STO PC has plenty of bugs, one bug that took a very long time to fix was Doff missions to recruit Romulan Boffs in the Romulan Faction. They more or less disappeared from the game around November or December of 2014 from what I recall. They did not reappear until late last year so it took around 20 months for the bug to be finally fixed.

PC user here. I'd like for consoles to have their own forums as well. It can be a pain to sort through threads, read through threads only to find out that it doesn't apply to your platform. :/

I tend to agree. Cyptic's Neverwinter Online has dedicated forums for PC and Consoles, so why not STO.

Stop trying to play the "poor pitiful me!" victim card and maybe you wouldn't be.
also the issues raised are seldom looked into/resolved due to the fact the pc players do not experience the same issues we do.
Uhh no, Cryptic looks into most issues they hear about, they don't get resolved for the same reason many long standing PC issues haven't been, because its not considered critical, and they have other things to work on first.... just like in every other MMO.

who is playing the pitiful card just check any other posting where a console gamer tries to get help then see how much abuse they get from pc gamers (hence the need for separate forums)

Easy answer...NO MONEY or resources as of yet to hire forum devs. They just had a massive layoff and people are more stretched out than before. It might be on their "to do" list but that list keeps increasing since less people to do the work.

    Uhh no, they did not.

PWE let go of a handful of people at PWE, Cryptic and the other devs weren't effected.

    PWE runs the forums..

Op i agree there needs to be a seperate forum that way console gamers can gt the help they need that fits their platorm.

However you use the word "abuse" on a gaming forum?...are you new to the internet? seriously there are trolls on any platform so dont tag PC gamers as the only ones who do it.

As far as im concerned i try to assist where can if its something that both platforms experience i say so, if its unique to one or the other platforms i will say so and direct the console player to submit a ticket to support.

But to tag PC gamers as abusive is really messed up op , as i said trolls exist on all platforms not just one.

    PC elitist here,

I agree the consoles need their own forums. We do not need to see the consoles players complaining that they do not get the same LTS deal as PC, or those console players who demand to speak to DEVs who made the deal with Microsoft/Sony.

Or my personal favorite, thise console players who happened to be former PC players who keep asking for their accounts to be transferred.

I would write more, but my butler just brought me dinner.

Honestly, I prefer the forums as they are. I've never played the PC version and really have no intention to but I find the insights of PC players invaluable. Alot of the time their input is relevant as the console release really is just a prior version of the PC release. There are differences (where's the console Obelisk?) but they aren't so severe that PC players aren't able to give applicable input on it. The only tangible reason I can think of on segregating the forums is that people don't want to see what the other side of the pond looks like nor even acknowledge it exists. Not only does it exist, it doesn't care that you don't want to believe it exists. Kind of like Republicans and global warming.

Thank you. Whilst some consider it an inconvenience, I do not. By simply putting the platform in your header, which takes all of half a second if that, you distingush the post enough.

At the end of the day OP, you are playing a game that is a few months behind the PC, who's players are, for the most part, more knowledgable, so their input has merit as , bar the UI, the games are other wise mechanically identical.

And as for you're perceived notion that the 'trolls' are all PC based, you are very, very wrong. STO is the only PC game I play online, I have a been a console person since the 70's, and trolls are the same, regardless of platform, and their most favoured haunt is MMO's. It also helps to not dismiss valid advice, even if you don't agree with it, as more often than not, the advice is sound.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

The consoles' handling of the "subscriber perks" is much better IMO. Should've dumped subs on the PC when the game went F2P, too.

The only ones I've seen complaining about it are the PC player who want their existing sub on their console account for free.

Why are you even posting here? On their official forums? :p

You do know they pay more attention to social media and reddit than their official forums? (Don't mean the second part to come out as harsh if it sounds like it...all meant to be a joke...a sad but true joke)

Every week since the console launch there has been a post asking for this...... Cryptic should really just bite the bullet and create a PS4 and Xbox sub forum.

..... Fora is the proper plural of Forum.....

had to get that outta my system... Yes consoles should get their own fora, one to four less whine threads in here per week would be great

And every thread has a number of people from the console version pointing out how bad it'd be for the community. In the last update we not only got K-13 but also the 'credits instead of commodities' fleet tweak. That change was only a few months ago on PC. We ARE catching up (even if they are leaving out certain ships *cough*Obelisk*cough*). You segregate the forums (fora looks like a video game name) you will still have alot of console players using the PC forums to get their information making console forums pointless.

I don't see it happening anytime soon, maybe not at all. Just gonna have to accept it

Except that not every thread title declares explicitly what it's about, including whether it deals exclusively with Xbox and/or PS4. So, half the time you're clicking on a thread to find out what it is actually about.

Perhaps, if not their own separate fora, Cryptic could make separate subheadings within this forum.

It's unfortunately rare for players asking questions actually specify which version of the game they're talking about.
