So, after this maintenance, will we be able to enter Earth Space dock, or will you guys break that again??? Just wondering because the last time we had to wait this long ESD was screwed up.
Why is this not done at night, when most players are sleeping so you don't greatly inconvenience your player base. My whole day I've been sitting waiting for you guys to apply a patch that's a year old.
Cryptic is based in California, which is why server time is Pacific time. It's not done "at night" because a) this is a worldwide service and almost any time they choose is someone's "night" and someone else's "day", and b) since this is F2P, they haven't got the kind of money it would take to pay that much overtime to their IT people. (This doesn't happen automatically, you know - someone has to be there to change the code base, and monitor for any last-minute issues.)

It's night somewhere all the time! Someone somewhere will always be incovenienced. The time chosen is the not only the time the Cryptic guys actually start work, but also the quietest server period......and the new patch is barely 6 months old!

Well... currently on XBO it said there was scheduled maintenance from 6am-9am, but at 9am it was suddenly changed to read 6am-9:30am. Then at 9:30am it was again changed to read 6am-12pm. The part where it really gets comical is at 11:30am it was changed again to read 6am-2pm.
null I play at night CST add there's maybe 15ppl on ps4, takes 10 minutes to get a queue started usually. During the mornings here it's busy, 30 sec wait for the popular STFs, so yeah your information about the slowest time of day is way off.
just because only 15 players are in a que at night doesn't mean there are only 15 players online. Those other players may not like doing ques which is understandable. I love patrolling the Delta Quadrant, I'd rather do that then join a que. Although now that we have three new reputations, I'll do maybe 3 ques a day, Anniversary, and if there is any other events going on which may be possible. I'll do those, after that Delta!
Nothing new? Its posted 2 o'clock and that's coming up pretty fast. People are anxiously awaiting this. And vulcan patience is not a human strong suit. This is trust. People trust to believe what they read is said in an official capacity. If that's gonna change warning is necessary not an impersonal timetable delay. It does not take any significant amount of time to release an update on the status. Its not whining either. Its an expectation of decency. Our part is fulfilled by our enjoyment of the product. And in situations that permit it, investitures furthering enjoyment. Bottom line no matter how busy you are it went kill you to keep the community posted.

OK, update. Nothing's changed since @ambassadorkael#6946 last posted, if it had, he'd have posted something new, is that OK for you?
because if your unlocking it via maintenance. you may want to consider your totally awful at unlocking stuff.
oo or are you doing last minute Q&A?? wouldn't be unlike you to release totally broken maintenance updates.
