Why doesn't the science version get a Lieutenant Commander Science station, and only one Lieutenant Commander station... which is the universal/temporal? That certainly makes the science version suboptimal when compared to the others.

You want what? Commander science downgraded to Lt. Commander?
To my eyes, science version looks the best out of 3, boff-wise.

Well in addition to all having a Commander science seat.. the engineering version has one has a Lt. Cmdr engineering, and a Lt. Cmdr Universal/Temporal. The tactical version has a Commander tactical and a Lt. Cmdr Universal/Temporal. The science version has a Lt. science and a Lt. Cmdr Universal/Temporal seat. |

So two of them have a Commander and two Lt. Commander seats, while the science version has a Commander and one Lt. Commander seat.

Could someone please answer for me,
Does anyone know if you would be able to put the old T5 consoles from the original vestas, onto the tier 6 versions?
Thank you to anyone that can help.

@rickpaa The science one will have Commander science and Lt. universal, in addition to lt. commander uni/temporal. The total number of boff abilities remains the same across all 3 variants.

Giving it Lt. Commander sci would either require them to give Sci version more boff slots than other versions or would require them to either take something away elsewhere or turn a uni into sci.
Not sure what you're arguing for here.

Because not all boff slots are created equal.. Lt.Commander skills are better then Lt, skills.. and he is saying because the non-sci versions have an extra Lt.Commander skill the sci version is weaker compared to the eng and tac versions do to having only a Lt skill.

This is in essence what he is trying to agrue.

With tac or eng versions, you could have max 5 science abilities (Sci commander + ensign uni), provided you fill lt. cmdr with temporal powers. With sci version, you'd be able to have 6 sci abilities + 3 temporals.

They seem like previous 9-pack ships (and original Vestas.) They already have all the advantages of a fleet ship built in: extra hull, shield, console slot and a higher-rarity Admiralty card. (although I guess, not being able to get both blue and purple versions is a bit of a disadvantage.)

Pretty excited...love the meaningful attention given to kdf and rom side. GORN SHIPS!!! :)

Also, completely agree with the guy who said anniversary ship should not be necessary for full console set. If you buy a bundle, 4th console should be unlocked. For example, I bought the command battlecruiser after a hiatus from the game. Did not have the anniversary ship. Had I felt that console set was really desirable, I'd have skipped the whole mega pack.

But, back to the gushing...I was going to chill on my purchases for a bit....but this mega pack....yeah cryptic....take my money :)

Plus, the 9-pack ships don't have access to the fleet hull material.

These are in the same class as the Flagships, they all have 11 Consoles already.

the romulans design just looks slick.....am not too sure i like the new design of the vesta, especaily the sci version, that mission pod looks out of place.

As I posted in another Thread:

'When they release on Thursday they will be on Sale for the Weekend. Either 10,000 or 9,600 for the Mucho Grande Pack, 5,000 or 4,800 for Faction triples, and 2,500 or 2,400 for an individual Ship. Discount depends on whether they go for the T5 Pack Rates or just apply a 20% Discount for these Ships only.'

Why are they going with the temporal ops abilities again? We already had the Sutherland class with it last time.

What should they do for sci ships.. pilot? command? there are already a lot of intel boff seating sci ships out there more then temporal ops.

    It seems like the:
    - Starfleet T6 has more shields / turn rate / inertia
    - Klingon T6 has more hull but less shields / turn rate / inertia
    - Romulan T6 only has less shields / turn rate / inertia

Shouldnt the Romulan T6 version either have:
    - more shields / turn rate / inertia and be like the Starfleet version
    - more hull but less shields / turn rate / inertia and be like the Klingon version
    - or get slightly more shields / hull to fit in between the Starfleet and Klingon versions?

Edit: Stats are good, Romulan version has Battle Cloak

Really? No Kestral Runabouts for the Romulan variants?

I mean, the Kestral's model already exists in-game. Why not give it a hangar pet variant already?
Yes, I was thinking the same thing. It's great that the KDF is finally getting something to fill the space between fighters and frigates, but Romulans could use something there too. I suppose Fed aligned Romulans can fall back on Runabouts and Fliers, but I doubt that the Gorn fighters will be available to KDF Romulans.

Perfect place to give them one...guess Romulans will go on as the only faction without general a use hangar pet

T6 Nova wioth Pilot and T6 Luna with Command.

TBH, the T6 Nebula was a better candidate to have the Command specialist Boff seating.

I wonder if this influx of KDF science ships will finally allow the price for the Mirror Neghvar to go down.
It was kept high due to being the only KDF ship with focus on science and access to cloak.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

T6 Nebula should have an SWACS variant where all ships and fighters within a certain range (a large range... Say 50km) gain a boost to accuracy and damage resistance.
Space Barbie Extraordinaire. Got a question about Space Barbie? Just ask.

    Things I want in STO:

    1) More character customization options such as more clothing options, letting the toon complexion affect the entire body, not just the head. Also a true RGB color picker applied to all costume and appearance options, which would allow for true appearance customization and homogenous colors instead of "this same exact color looks vastly different on two different pieces."
    2) Bridge customization, not bridge packs. Let us pick a general layout and adjust the color palette, console appearance, and chair types, as well as more ready room layout options.
    3) Customizable ground weapons, i.e. The aesthetic look of phaser dual pistols but they shoot antiproton bolts. For obvious reasons this would only apply to standard ground weapons.
    4) For the love of Q please revamp Plasma Ground Weapons. They look like demented Supersoakers right now.
    5) True Vanity Impulse and Deflector effects similar to Vanity Shields.
    6) A greater payout for hitting T6 Reputations. Currently it takes more time and resources to get from T5 to T6 than it does to get from nothing to T5. Make that grind really pay out at the end.
    7) Mirrorverse Refugee event similar to AoY/Delta/Gamma, complete with new Mirrorverse recruits for all factions.
    8) Independent Faction, because yo ho yo ho a pirate's life for me!

I'd buy the Nebula again if it came in a space-control version.

Though I'd buy the Nebula again if it was it, but wearing a funny hat, so I may be biased.

You know when these are released tomorrow they will actually be cheaper on Sale than the T5 version as you don't need to spend additional on an Upgrade Token.

Other people have pointed out why the Science variants were robbed of a LtCdr level sci ability.

And others have spoken on the Aux Cannons. But let's be honest, the fact that these can equip Dual Cannons virtually guarantees that they can use the Aux Cannons and likely all the consoles, as consoles always work in the same family. The issue is that the Klingon and Romulan ships won't have access to those first generation consoles.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned because people apparently don't care about sector space, do these ships get any kind of Quantum Slipstream boost? Or is it only in the original set? Klingon and Romulan ships too.
More science vessels? Too bad. :/

GREAT if you're a Romulan or especially a Klingon with limited access to science ships.

Naj'sow research vessel from last T6 Sci Crossfaction 3-pack has cloak built-in (not battle cloak, but normal one), the Gorn ships don't have normally cloaks, so i think the new Multi-mission KDF ships will not have cloaks too.

A Dev posted on the first page that they will be coming with Aux cannons of each faction type. aka disruptor for KDF, Plasma for Rom.

Why though.. they are sci ships.. they are all 5 sci console, 3/3 load outs and such.. being pilot or command makes no sense as they are sci ships.
