STO is not starting on DX11 mode on Windows 10 home. Drivers are up to date on the system. Video card is GTX1070.
Further, the game does no longer allow DX9 mode and displays a warning saying it is no longer supported and it switches automatically to DX11.
Launcher works, but the game does nor start.

As for the crash exiting the game, this happens when exiting from fullscreen. Sounds like a coding issue that hasn't been resolved yet. If you crash when exiting every time it will ask to verify files on a restart after a crash every time. Just use window maximized.
As for the game not running in d3d11 mode i'd ask if you have an integrated gpu. If you do then ensure the game is using the correct gpu via the NVidia control panel. If that isn't the issue i'd either rename or delete the gameprefs.pref file located in the Star Trek Online_en\Star Trek Online\Live\localdata folder. A new one will be created when you start the game. This often fixes issues especially if the file was fairly old. The other option is to actually do a verify of the game files.
If nothing else after all that you could also try in an elevated command prompt the following;
sfc /scannow
This will verify windows files. Don't worry doesn't take long. I've had this fix errors before. The other thing to do would be use DDU to uninstall the NVidia driver in safe mode and reinstall the new driver. Don't use GeForce experience or any settings that try to optimize the game. Seriously wish they'd remove their bloat/TRIBBLE software as it breaks so many games. fyi I use the gpu driver, PhysX driver and the control panel and that's it.
I'm sure there's a few other things to try but it's a start and the above would fix 99% of peoples problems.
