The Fed and KDF ships do look rather nice - not sure I'm getting a Movie/TMP vibe from them so much as more TOS series but nice all the same.

Not hugely a fan of the Romulan one looks wise. Eye of the beholder and all that.

Nice stats on all of them however - and a very nice job on the NX in particular

I love the stats on the NX Refit. Now I need to get my hands on one!

The NX is epic. Shame I'll never get to use it, since it's single-character...

Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

I'm hoping the Atlas has a TMP skin/costume that they're keeping as a surprise. Like when we weren't told about being able to use all the base cruiser skins/costumes on the T6 Connie.

I like the D9 like I did with the kelvin bop but locked behind the pay wall for just one character I'll have to pass on this(if the drop rates were better I might change my mind but for now nada.

There's an error with the NX Refit picture as the Columbia was lost before the Refit came to be and therefore never had it. It was called the Columbia CLass because of that.

More engineering ships with poor seating, saves me a ton of money.

That isn't canon. In the STO timeline, Columbia was apparently the first ship to receive the refit.

Ah. You would think they would try and follow some of the novel stuff. Even Star Wars did that in the EU.
That also explains the Borg. I was wondering why they were still around. :)

    NX = want... must have...

Sadly, no lobi... not enough credits for what folks will want for it...

    Quick question:

What is this - Console – Universal – Hull Ionization Module - which is listed as the unique console on the Atlas class Dreadnought?
Is that an error, something from a future ship we weren't meant to see yet?
Because the rest of the blog states is is actually kitted with a Dynamic Power Redistributor Module Universal Console

The Atlas is a thing of beauty. The Thrai is pretty great too. The D9 is a little too on-the-nose as a Negh'var for my taste.

    *sigh*

Guess I better start selling keys.

I finally figured out why I like the Atlas look more than most of the AoY ships, the Atlas is a Pioneer on Steroids, and I really like the look of the Pioneer Class.

They did incorporate some novel stuff in the background lore.

But ignoring the novels is good, it allows them to be unique without having to worry about stepping on toes.

The Vesta is from the Novels, as is the Luna class, right?

    Yes, they both are.

    We're talking about lore though.

Well you could use it, you're just choosing not to. There's a difference.

First thing that stuck out to me as well, when I read it...hull ionization sounds like some superpowered version of the nx-01's 'polarize hull plating', possibly with some fbp aspects in there. Pure speculation, but I wonder if that could be a console off the anniversary ship that's a part of an as-yet unspecified set with other ship consoles (like cbc's/samsar, krenim sci/t6 flagships).

Save that fact that one of the best dps platforms Feds have atm is a ship with commander engineering and a command spec hybrid seat

That's what I meant: I could buy it, but it wouldn't be worth it in my case because I can't use it on multiple characters. So I'm sitting it out.

Unfortunately, I highly doubt they'll ever reverse the decision they made when they settled on doing the NX refit. Keep in mind that we've only recently started getting some ships that we thought would never happen (T6 science ships for KDF and Roms, endgame prime constitution and a Kelvin Connie). While the Connie and the Kelvin Connie are single character unlock, non c-store ships, there's a good reason for them being such.

The Prime Constitution is a special case as it was the 50th anniversary and thus released as a special ship that had Temporal seating, but with the look of the 1960s. The Kelvin Connie was made a lock box ship mainly because it was not part of this universe.

The NX refit is another Temporal ship. It would seem that any ship that wasn't initially released with Agents of Yesterday that gets Temporal seating is destined to be a single character unlock, such as the NX refit. This ship though is another special case as the only time it's been talked about is in the novels and seen in the ships of the line calendar that came out. It's never been seen onscreen so it fits in the realm of being "soft canon" and being based on a ship that has been in canon.

Basically any time there's a special ship released, it's standard protocol that they limit the amount of people that are able to have access to it. Plus, if they make it single character unlocks and not single account, they stand to make more money indirectly from people turning master keys into lobi :)

The fact that you have an NX refit and made it look this good is reason enough for me to change the review on Steam for STO from a negative to a positive. Though it WAS rumored to be seen in S5 of ENT, that season never happened, and after seeing the model on YouTube via IrishTrekkie's video (that video being the one where I found out this ship design would have been canon had there BEEN an S5 of ENT when they launched deeper into the conflict that was the Earth-Romulan War of which they started to set up in the ending episodes of S4), I've so wanted to at the very least get my hands on a model this ship, but flying it in STO? Even better. The stats are actually pretty spot on to what I was wanting on my main too.

The real question is this: Will we get an NX bridge skin too? I'd pay money for an NX bridge pack (that being the one we saw on the Enterprise, that on the Columbia, and if need be [and if I recall, there shouldn't be a need to as there are bridge packs with only two bridges] an updated version of them both, designed to meet the changing times of the 25th century), even if it was also a lobi set. I think that the NX bridge skin is really one of the most logical bridge sets in all of Star Trek as far as efficiency goes. The captain is not only a few steps from each station so he or she can take that post should the assigned officer go down, but also is within visual range of every seat, and every seat within visual range of both him/her and the viewscreen. I can think of no better design a command post of a ship can have. True, the TOS bridge is similar...but the consoles on the sides of the bridge lacked the efficiency that the NX bridge design had in that the consoles faced AWAY from the captain and viewscreen, causing them to have to look over their shoulder to look at the screen or at the commanding officer. The NX design just made sense.

Yes and no. The Vesta is 100% from the Destiny trilogy for sure. however, the Luna-class is not fully from the novels. Only the design is. In Nemesis, Riker stated that he would be taking command of the USS Titan and that it was a Luna-class, but we never saw her as it was not required to drive the direction of the story. The novels saw to that, as that was planned for the sequel that Nemesis not only set up, but the sequel that due to it not happening made Nemesis the confusing movie it was-it was designed to be like a two-parter from the series and would have continued to show us one last mission on Enterprise with Captain Riker commanding Titan, Picard's retirement as captain and accepting the role of ambassador to Vulcan, and Data getting the captain's chair-scenes that never ended up happening, thus leaving us with an incomplete story and a movie that ended up being worse than it really should have been.

I think all 4 ships look good. They are definitely carrying the retro appearance. Good stats too for them all. I am sure the odds will not be generous & the prices astronomical though & I remember my lousy luck with the 30 keys from the LoR pack .

Hmmm, I've not heard that Nemesis was meant to be 2-parter. Wasn't it billed at the time as "A generation's final adventure" or similar?
