Interaction with the STO forum.

I've noticed some of you can be very active on here, do you guys use some sort of phone app or something? I think taptka is a thing, right?

Just wondering how many of you can be very active.

I truly do enjoy interacting with you guys, spend enough time here and you can get to knkow people, their ideas and (if your me) you make voices for them when you read their posts. ...

Anyway, just curious.

My employer doesn't block the site, so I can post at lunch, or while a program is rebuilding, or when I should be working ;) . I fixed two "issues" at work while I was on xmas vacation so it evens out.

I work as an astronomer for a museum... which really means I spend like 95% of my time sitting in a planetarium clicking a button to make sure the show runs (along with regularly giving presentations on what we can see up there tonight all punctuated by the few moments of action when something breaks).

And honestly, if actually watched the same shows over and over and over and over again every single day I would probably go insane and start strangling my co-workers. Thankfully, my employers are all too aware of this and don't mind me surfing the internet and working on personal projects on my laptop while I keep an eye on things.

So I end up spending a lot of time on the STO forums (and the one's over on Reddit, too). Which in turn has helped motivate me once I've read everything new to go and work on outlining some upcoming Foundry missions. For example, right now I'm researching just how many space lizards there really are in Trek, and how one might go about crafting a nice little "who done it?" mission.

I have the misfortune to have a well-paid and extremely interesting job which sadly only requires 99% of my attention. The remaining 1% is where the STO forums step in nicely while I'm at work.

I don’t use the forums from home at all as I don't get paid for it there.

I use my cell phone via the Internet app.

This game doesn't have an actual app, I wish it did. Bungie makes an app for Destiny and Dice makes one for Battlefield, I'd love if this game had one, especially with an item manager feature.

I HATE how I have to actually go into each character, manually walk up to the account back, place items in (sometimes repeating this 6 more times, ie transfering the winter event ear muffs and such to 1 character), then going into another character, walking to the bank, just to take that item out.

What a pain in the a**, especially when there are so many item manager apps for other games. It's obviously not a new concept.

Idk, maybe it's because this game started on pc and the games with item manager apps I've seen are console games. I don't really play pc games, so I'm not sure if item manager phone apps for pc is a common thing or not.

I have my own business so I have some control over my work hours (my clients have at least some influence  ). A little over half of the job involves me sitting in front of my computer, so many times I stop by here as a way of taking a break from the work.
