do you think any of the other designs would make it in game as an escort, or cruiser? I was really diggin' that saucer for my Grey.
I doubt it. We didn't get any other models from the Fed carrier project either.
Actually, we did. A lot of the 29th Century ships are leftover losing designs from the carrier contest, or based on them, at any rate.
What 29th Century ships? The only 29th Century ship that came after the carrier contest is the Paradox.
There is a huge difference between the carrier contest and the Lukari contest. The Lukari contestants are vastly different ships that can be used to create ships for new alien races while the carrier contestants are extremely limited to being designed as a Federation carrier. It was probably too late to introduce them for the Tzenkethi Lockbox since they wanted the Lukari ship to be available before any of the other contestants, but the Summer Event ship and the next Lockbox ships, provided that Cryptic doesn't introduce Tier 6 versions of older Lockboxes, could introduce the other Lukari contestants.

Yeah. Lotsa Science vessels, of late. I could do with an old-fashioned 'Escorts Online' (still sounds like a very cheesy name of an Internet dating service *g*) Escort again.
One stat of the ship is already known, though: it's super-cute.
Probably in the week in which the Anniversary starts. So sometime in Feburary.
Anniversary will launch with Season 12, which begins January 26th.
While the Blog states 26 January, the in-game calendar states 7th anniversary starts on 2 February.
So unless the in-game calendar is wrong... but maybe the giveaways will start from 26 January, and the anniversary then after a week?
Since the Anniversary Event starts on February 2nd, I expect the official announcement of the event will be on January 30th. On the 31st the Lukari ship should be announced, and on February 1st, the stats of the ship should be released.

The 29th Century Starfleet Temporal Ships are the designs I was referring to, not the three 31st Century cross-faction ships. Every single one of the 29th Century Starfleet Temporal Ships is based on unused voting choices leftover from the carrier design contest. I'm surprised no one else has mentioned it (so far that I've seen), I can't be the only person who noticed.
Your subsequent rant is somewhat irrelevant, but your ostensible point is also based on a false premise; all the other choices we had to vote on for the Lukari ship are substantively different enough to recycle them as ships for another race. Case in point, what does a Dorito have to do with a Flying Saucer? Nothing at all, but they were both choices for a ship made by the same race.
*** Pardon me, the Nautilus is the one ship that wasn't a leftover from the carrier contest.
"I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome I am."

Those are 26th Century, not 29th.
29th Century is the home of the Wells/Mobius and their KDF/Rom equivalents.
They also don't look much like the other designs for the carrier. All of the 26th Century ships feature nacelles set wider than the saucer, while only the winner of the carrier contest had that. None of the 26th Century ships has a distinct Engineering hull while 4 of the 7 also-rans from the carrier contest had one. Only one of the 26th Century ships features paired nacelles, while 5 of the 7 also-rans had them. The one that does have paired nacelles has them directly lined up over and under and equal length, and none of the carrier designs had that combination.
I think people didn't notice it because they aren't very similar at all.
Changing topics here, what do ya'll think the Lukari rep will have? Also, have we meet a male Lukari yet? Either way, Cryptic, Lukari boff, NOW.
Good questions. Hoping that the rep weapons won't be some AP or disruptor type again, we already have them in spades. Some new tet or polaron type would be welcomed IF their proc isn't completely worthless.
do you think any of the other designs would make it in game as an escort, or cruiser? I was really diggin' that saucer for my Grey.
Here's why I had a feeling it was going to be a science vessel. Simply, the Lukari haven't been far out from their solar system (or at least thats what it sounded like they were saying to me). Thus they want exploration ships for long trips into deep space, can we think of another ship that was like that? Hmmm..... oh yes, Voyager! That's a science vessel too!
They should add more energy based torpedos like the nausican and anti-proton types already out as well as omni beams for any damage types not covered like ancient anti-proton and the other few types are. The energy based torps actually make me enjoy torps again.

Didn't they tell us was a science ship?

We can expect stats somewhat like for Krenim Science ship last year:
Consoles 11 (5 sci, 3 eng, 3 tac),
Weapons: 3 fore, 3 aft (can equip cannons - even if they are suboptimal on Sci ship),
And maybe, just maybe a fighter hangar (please devs make it so!)
And maybe a hybrid Temporal BOFF seat...
Yeah. Lotsa Science vessels, of late. I could do with an old-fashioned 'Escorts Online' (still sounds like a very cheesy name of an Internet dating service *g*) Escort again.
Seems to me that they take care to put out one of each "career suited" ships during a run of the three ship events. Which IMO is a good thing, especially if you're FTP. And also a pretty safe bet we're going to get an Eng themed ship in Risa this year.

This year’s anniversary event for Star Trek Online offers captains the opportunity to complete in-game missions to earn exciting rewards, including the new Tier 6 Lukari Science Vessel, which the community selected the design for last fall.
I understand the new anniversary ship will be a Lukari science vessel. Any idea on her stats?
It will be a Lukari vessel, but at this time it is not yet known if it is science, cruiser, escort or hybrid.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Actually, the Season 12 announcement blog quite specifically calls it a science ship. Which suits me just fine; I've got a science captain who could use a better looking ship than the Krenim Science Vessel he's currently in.

On Tribble, the date has changed for the Anniversary to January 26th.
This is an MMO, not a Star Trek episode simulator. That would make for a terrible game.
We already know that the Lukari will be a science ship, but we don't know if it will have an Intel, Command, Pilot, or Temporal Lt. Commander slot. Also, there is the possibility of it having a Protomatter console since the Lukari are so proficient in it compared to other races according to the Echoes of Light mission.
You know, after reading it was going to be a sci ship, I was kinda saddened the flying saucer didn't win. After all, what better design is there for conducting... experiments... than a classic flying saucer XP
It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once.

There is the Independence Day saucers that didn't conduct any experiments. Flying Saucers is attributed to almost all UFO sightings while very few alien sightings actually deal with conducting experiments.
It is possible that Flying Saucers is due to a bunch of Alpha Centauri University students letting off steam over the weekend by conducting experiments and making crop circles on the nearby wildlife. There is also the explanation that Robot Chicken came up with. Extremely funny especially with who one of the voice actors is, but not appropriate to post the video on the forums.

Ah... but there are some reports of triangular UFOs as well. Not as common, but they exist.

Winter 15: Rezreth - Dreadnaught
Anniv 16: Krenim Science Vessel - Sci Ship
