Question regarding the Winter Event ship daily

captaingalaxy1captaingalaxy1 Member Posts: 202 Arc User
Hey fellow STO players, I have only just logged back on to STO after an absense for a year. If I begin doing the winter event daily for the ship, will I have enough time to collect all the "Q Autographs" before the end of the event?

Double-check the in-game Calendar, but I'm pretty sure you could (with a couple days to spare) manage to unlock it now.

Now if you're getting a PC/console for Christmas and starting the Winter Event at that time... no joy.

Even if there is not enough time, there is always the option of using Lobi to purchase autographs. This is the only way to get the ship within the first hour of the event. Incredibly stupid, but some people live for getting items first.

I agree that it is normally quite a waste of lobi, except for those who have excess lobi and ec in buckets lying around the floor. However, it can be a boon, fleetmate once opened couple of lockboxes just for the one day they needed on the event (40 lobi) and got, IIRC, a T6 ship and a sought after trait from the boxes.

Don't count on this happening to you though ;)

The event finishes on the 12th. You require 25 runs. You should be able to do this.

Unless you have a boat load of Lobi to buy the autographs. I was going to do that like I did every year but this year I'm not that impressed with the ship. It looks to much like the previous Breen cruiser from the year before last.

Even if you have a boatload of lobi, seems a waste just to get a ship a couple weeks early. Though I always see someone who has to sport the new ship on day 1, so I guess some find it worth it. Personally, I save my lobi for stuff I can't get for free w/ just a bit of grinding.

Didn't do it for first day bragging but to just get that grind over with.

although this years ship is very similar in looks to the other one remember it is a T6 model so its worth having even if only for the admiralty card that will come with it, if you can do the event and get it for "free" then fine but probably not worth spending a fortune in lobi but I cant say any of the event ships are anyway.
also remember it is an account unlock so you only need to get it on one character and you may create characters in the future you would want it for even if you don't really want it for a current character.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

True enough but it's a big yawn ship to me. Wish it looked different then that last cruiser. Albeit it does look better then the deformed Lobster last years was.

You only need 25 days worth OP, and as others have said you can fill the rest with lobi. If you have enough lobi, you can even get the ship right now.

There's always the crowd of 100,000 plus lobi players. They seem like prime candidates for using lobi for event ships.

Actually, you can't get Q Autographs anymore, those were pulled from the game, if I recall what they said at the time. What they use now are called something else.

Those guys with tons of Lobi are the ones opening tons of Promotional R&D Packs or Lockboxes to be able to sell the Ships at overheated prices early on.

It takes 25 days, and they give you 42....leaves 17 to spare. If you started on or before Dec 18th (TODAY!!!), you can do it without stressing as long as you log in daily.
I'm not doing your math for the 20 hr timer for anyone who starts tmrw or later.

Dec 19 may even be enough if you happen to play before server shuts down without using any kind of 20h benefit.
