Hello, Kael, there is a bug affecting every separation pet in the game, do you know if the dev team is aware of this?, hope they fix it in the next patch  it was reported in the bug section, and also in the general discussion tread..

They're looking into it - we'll let you know when we know something.

That's the cloaking device activating. ^_^

Sounds more like the current lighting/skin issue which multiple people are experiencing. Best to post this as a bug report though instead of in general discussion.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Just tested MVAM console on the Hestia and it's doing the same thing. The separated ships launch then immediately do the recall animation and disappear. Probably not a lighting/skin issue.

Anyway, this should probably go in the bugs section.

Just tested it on the Prometheus, and exactly the same thing: They disappear, and (I tested it under combat situation) they are gone, and take no part in the battle, rather than simply being invisible...

Whoever's responsible for this glitch, needs firing... The amount of mistakes which occur after updates and patches, show someone who is clearly incompetent, and shouldn't be doing the job...

Can a bug hunter create a report of this?, those reports have higher ranking than the normal bug report section.. or @borticuscryptic can you pass along a report?, it happens with Galaxies, Prometheus, and i think pretty much every separation pet.

I've been having this issue with my saucer separation/aquarius escort as well. What is the name of the discussion in the bug section so I can post there too?

To be fair, the pets cannot keep up with you anyway, just like any other space pet in STO. As soon as you full impulse between fights, they lag behind and disappear..

That doesn't matter! The point, is that people paid for ships which can do this, none of them are free, and some codemonkey f*cked it up with some unnecessary tinkering session! Don't try and make it sound acceptable 'because reasons', there's nothing acceptable about it at all!

    Example:
Someone buys an album on iTunes...
Apple do one of their software updates, meaning that three of the tracks no longer play, despite still being listed on the track listing...

Is it acceptable because those weren't your favorite tracks?

    No.

That's the situation here: People paid money for something, and now, because some incompetent codemonkey f*cked up, they can't make use of what is their (albeit digital)property... The Prometheus isn't my main ship, it doesn't affect how I play the mission content, but it could well be someone else's main ship, meaning that their experience is now massively diminished, for no other reason than the codemonkeys feel the need to constantly tweak and adjust things, on the halfa55ed notion that 'different = better', and the delusion that their tweaks lead to welcomed changes. How many people have complained about the lighting changes and adjusted their settings back to how it used to be? That shows just how out of touch with their consumers (the people who pay their wages) these devs are, and that they need to sit back and release New Content, not just tinker and mess with what's already been released...

It needs sorting, not dismissed by platitudes like yours, and brushed aside...

Also curious where the bug submission topic is as I'd like to contribute to it after testing in hopes they have a look at it and fix it.

Not what this new reported bug is about. That's a separate issue. Neither is it justification for brushing yet another pet bug under the carpet. I paid money for this, as have a lot of people, and if it wasn't my money, it was with my time farming using someone else's money (zen) they've spent in STO for instant dilithium. Just one example, I bought the T5 MVAE (2,500 zen) just for its console to use on the T6 Hestia so it can separate and make use of its starship trait where separated pets as well as allies focus-firing on a target each get a damage bonus.

I also paid for the T5 Odyssey with Chevron Separation, all 3 T6 Odysseys which can use it, the Galaxy for its Saucer Separation, the T6 Gal-X which can use it, the Venture which can use it and for the set bonus with saucer separation that can apply to all these ships, plus the Hestia trait that definitely applies to them.

If so many ships are affected, I'm curious if this bug also applies to Sheshar owners who no doubt gambled a fortune for it, and to Kara & Haakona warbirds.

Yes, the Sheshar is affected as well. :(

:( My T6 odyssey is my main ship. I bought the T5 science and engineering Odyssey just to get the escort and chevron separations. I use them regularly for support. This is a major issue. I've spend more than £40 and countless hours of grinding getting my ship the way I want it. This needs fixing. People want game breaking bugs fixed before we get flashy new ships added to the game.

    I confirmed the same bug.
    I am disgusted with Cryptic.

Im at work, it seems our CM didnt get my request to be moved to the bug section, I hope he can do, this is a game breaking bug, not a showstoper, but its quite awfull, as it affects many pets, an many c-store, lobi and limited promotional ships

    It is true?
When they do not have the decency to respond in the forum.
Since they launch it in console, have been completely abandoned to pc users.
    One problem after another
First and foremost is the Klingon scarf, which repair these serious problems

    It is a pity

Really, a Klingon scarf is your 'first and foremost' issue with the game!? If truly so, then I'd say Cryptic is doing a very good job!

No, you're killing ME with your hilarious hyperbole! :)

N.B. Having said that, would be nice if they took a moment to actually fix the saucer separation.

While there at it, can they fix my Roms shields which are mk14 ultra rare but if I enter a PVE que mission of any type, they drop from 13k strength to 3k? Thats kinda game breaking to..

You don't pay attention to patch notes do you chipito? Since console launch the amount of bug fixes on PC has increased drastically.

Is not cleaner the person who cleans more, is the one that messes little
If you repair 10% of the game, but you damage 30%
    You are a mess
    that's my opinion

Just wanted to put an update in here... 2 updates and still waiting on a fix...also if you look back this has been a bug before. Least one guy/gal on here gets it. Yes I paid a ton of money for the set of ships to make my dreadnought my main. It was my fave ever sense next gen. Now I am sitting with no good main to fall back on with my feds. Wondering should I buy another ship. In lies another problem then how will I know when its fixed. Anyway if anyone has an in with a GM please pass it on.

That is NOT what is happening. THIS is what is happening:

You are sitting in Sol space for example (can be anywhere you can launch a pet).
You launch your pet, it launches ok.
It normally flies forward a little and then stops moving ready to follow/support you. What it does now is fly off into the distance never to be seen again until you recall it.
    It does NOT follow you
    It does NOT support you

    Hope that is now clear.

Okay, was just hoping that while the devs fix saucer separation, they might fix pet AI, so they don't suck like carrier pets.

Why do people think that stating they paid (a lot of) money somehow makes this issue more important? It's a bg that affects the entire game, the separation pet mechanic is simply broken. It's not just about YOU because you paid money for something.

Also, I love the tantrums being thrown around that this would "kill" STO, considering separation pets hardly have any use even when they work properly. For instance, if one wants to really complain, the Galaxy saucer doesn't have any abilities for five years or so now. It doesn't use engineering team on you, it doesn't heal itself nor anybody else. Even if the separation works it's useless.

True, the separation pet mechanic is broken and maybe its taking more time to get fixed because they need to find the problem and then try to fix it, its annoying, but it will be fixed, so i hope @crypticspartan#0627

To the second point, the Galaxy Saucer, until recently WAS working great, attacking and stuff, thou never repaired me, it fixed itself many times, and use its powers with the foe, same for the Aeroshuttle, the Happax and well every ship with separation console i have.

Yes, i paid for them, but its a bug, its not intentional, so i'll wait untill is fixed, its a big bug, so it will get fixed, but i think i'll get them some time to fix it

So here are few ships with this issue (as well as their T6 variants):

    Galaxy
    Galaxy-X
    Odyssey
    Prometheus
    Bortasqu'
    D'Kyr

Basically, any ship that has a non-hangar pet is experiencing the hiding issue according to my observations. I do hope this gets fixed.
