FYI to All Players regarding an item in the known issues section.
    • There is a dos window which appears when the Star Trek Online client is running.

Closing this Window will also close out the Game Client, You can minimize it so that it is out of the way, but don't actually Exit out of the window.

    Exchange Officers:
Diplomacy/Marauding exchange Bridge Officers are now set to limit 1.
This means that the player can dismiss one and then get a free replacement from Ambassador Sugihara or Marauder Kazzgur, should the player desire a different officer.
Upon reaching commendation rank 4 in Diplomacy or Marauding, the player will be granted a mission to go and get an exchange/renegade officer, which now appears in the mission log.
This does not change the legacy white/common quality exchange officers, only the current purple/very rare quality ones.

Does this mean if we have the old white quality BOff we can't trade up to the new purple one?

Essentially, the very rare/purple and common/white ones do not interact in any way. If you have Dipomacy/Marauding 4, you can have one very rare/purple exchange/renegade BOFF. You can replace that BOFF. If you never claimed one, you can claim one. Whether you have old common/white ones is immaterial and has no effect on them.

Any word on most boffs not being able to sprint? ("Most," because one of my alts has a 0718 who sprints just fine...)

Nothing on the Kit Frames that are still locked out after "Artifacts" and taking up space, nothing on the Kit Modules that still won't slot their abilities in the power tray... But hey, who cares about actual powers and equipment that can't be used when we're getting sweaters for Winter Wonderland, huh?

Bah, humbug, I say! Bah, humbug!

UTC time on the launcher is wrong YET AGAIN. Week in week out the time displayed for UTC is WRONG. 6am - 9am Pacific is 14.00 - 17.00 UTC. NOT 13.00 - 16.00 UTC as displayed on the launcher. Why is this always being got wrong? It is simple enough UTC is 8 hours ahead not 7.

What about us old-timers who purchased extras? My main has three I don't intend to discharge. Are they safe?

Still no mention of the TOS Gorn outfit not being unlocked. Was listed as a "known issue" previously - still not fixed, and no explanation given. Come on, Ambassador, you're our intercessor now, can you please get us at least some COMMENT on the issue?

What about people who have more than one from back when they were tradeable? I know several people (myself included) who grinded to T4 diplo/marauding on alts and traded the boff to their main, and a lot of people who bought them off the exchange or got them through trades.

The number of changes in this Maintenance makes sense for what was happening over the past few days when I shut down the Game Client. There was close to 4 GB of pre-patching going on.

You wouldn't need that pre-patching if this was going to be a normal Maintenance.

Usually you ar4e able to patch around 15 - 20 minutes after servers go down on patch days, but I am getting that the account server can not authenticate. Is this down for patch too?

Think there might be something screwy going on with the patch server, I haven't played in 5 days, I never prepatch, yet I just logged in and got the Engage button without patching.

i wonder how hard would it be for the launcher's maintenance timers to adjust based on system clock.

as in, use utc, compare with system date to calculate offset, then apply the offset to display utc date and show that end result in the window. that way it couldn't get it wrong anymore, and it'd always show the right time for everyone without any need to re-calculate it.
Now clowns, that's another story. They scare the crap out of me.
We fight them too. Entire armies spilling out of Volkswagens.
We do our best to fight them off, but they keep sending them in.

Programatically it is possible to do, in fact they have it set up in the game. The problem is this crew doesn't write the ARC client code so it'd have to go up the chain to the development team for the client. The game itself does time checks which is why the clock in the game works. The trick is most of their announcements are just plain text and don't have a time entry that can directly be evaluated. So they'd have to re-write a good portion of the interface to allow it to work.

Window's clock can be configured to show UTC and pacific time as well.

doesn't matter. this is about the sto launcher and its red box announcements, not windows.

The problem is the launcher didn't match what was said in the post. They said 3.5 hrs but the launcher shows 3 hrs. That has nothing to do with the computer, it has to do with the launcher not knowing math.

Was the issue with some characters not being able to equip kit frames \ activate 23c modules fixed?

Because that was the biggest one....I see no mention of it in the Patch Notes.

We're tentatively extending our maintenance window to 10:30 AM.

Extending maintenance to fix the issues with certain kit frames and modules caused by "Artifacts"?

Was about to comment on that. Guess i have to wait for a bit.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
