Shadowwraith - I see I am not the only Bab 5 fan here!
it's pity no one will do a B5 game, considering there's 5 seasons plus (+crusade and feature length movies) worth of content to use.

Apologies in advance! I am completely new to this game and this forum so I'm unable to start my own thread yet.
You can have a laugh at my expense as I am stuck on the very first tutorial quest. I am supposed to be scanning for anomalies in given areas. But when I'm taking my ship into the circles I'm supposed to scan, nothing happens. I scan for anomalies and get 0 coming up. Yet the quest does not advance. I've been doing this for about 40 mins (between a couple of days) and I'm getting nowhere except close to giving up. Can someone point me in the right direction of where I may be going wrong please?
Nothing to laugh. STO occurs in 3 dimensional space. I'm new to console for a couple of months now and still have a hard time finding things in space. Try Starbase 24. I have to use phaser queues from allied ships to figure out if the Klingons are above or below me. In the green circle area, looking for a small blinking light. There are other blinking lights out there so can be confusing. I'd say it blinks every 5 to 10 seconds. It could be above you or below but it will be in the circle area so you may have to spiral up or down to find. You will know when you do as you will be given the option to select scan at that point.
It's much easier to find these areas when you have things like satellites or junk to scan.
> it's pity no one will do a B5 game, considering there's 5 seasons plus (+crusade and feature length movies) worth of content to use.
That would be great! It was such a great series, very well thought out from start to finish and had brilliant character development. A game based on the series would be fantastic, I'd be up for that!

Thank you, I'll have another try and look for that light! :)
Just picked up the 1st half of the quantum phase set from the sunrise quest (2nd half from the Stormbound quest), i like the look of the beam array however it's one of those annoying 1-per-ship weapons, does anyone know of a blue beam weapon that looks similar to the Quantum beam array other than the 23c phaser (hate the sound of that thing)?
So..Yea they look similar..https://sto.gamepedia.com/File:QuantumBeam.jpg We try to keep stuff like that in the wikis. I do the beam arrays for simple comparison..Tho I haven't done the 23c Phasers..
Just remember "Trust Ivonova,Trust yourself..Anyone else..Shoot 'em."
Hi, Xbone one query here: Can anyone tell me how to activate individual specialization skills (within Intelligence, command, pilot etc...) to active bridge officers? I've unlocked a few in command and pilot, but cannot make them active (they all state "skill not allowed in slot" on the boff skill selection) do I have to buy training manuals for them to be alloted and active?
The boff must have the specialization and it must be available as their crew position. Some ships have pilot or command in the different boff crew position. The specialist must be positioned there.
null Thanks for your response. Sadly none of my ships have these specialization seats available, hopefully I will be able to use specializations when I can get a fleet starship.

I don't seem to be receiving event rewards from successful Admiralty assignments. For example, if the standard reward is 100 dilithium ore and the event reward is 500, I only seem to be getting 100. I make sure to exceed the stat requirement and that the green bar is 100%. Do I need a critical success to get the additional event reward? Am I doing something wrong? Have I hit a bug?
For some reason the "begin assignment" option is greyed out on every duty officer mission. I have completed 21 duty officer missions so far and have 0 in progress at this time. I have all the prerequisites for the missions I am trying to run. It says in the overview tab that I have 0 open slots, not sure what that means.
I completed the "Facility 4028" mission prior to the doff system being implemented. The doff reward are not in my roster and I was wondering if those chars will be able to get them at any point.
Is there anywhere you can go to read about how to play this game on the PS4? I've found PC game guides but nothing for the PS4 so far. The trial and error method is frustrating and this seems like this would be a fun game to learn, if there was only someplace to learn how to play it. Learning on the fly through the pseudo tutorial was not helpful. I hate missing out on stuff I'm evidently just supposed to know how to do... like collect anomalies. Missed a bunch of them in the early missions because I didn't know what they were, how to collect them, what they are for or how to use them. Luckily I've played other Star Trek games so I understand the mechanics, just don't know where to find and how to use the controls. So much content and so little instruction. Soooooooo Frustrated!

Maybe you could be that person..Willing to write out how tings work on the ps4...I dont have a PS4 and if you think that info could be helpful maybe we can add it to the wiki to help other players..Some of that information is here in this tread tho.

you could try looking for Xbox one guides (just remember to switch the controls for the ps4 equivalents), since they both share the same content.

Struggling myself also. Every YouTube video I've seen let's you switch targets and start destroying the comet. But for me, maybe you too, after I kill one of the big Klingon ships I can't lock into anything. I have to use Evasive Maneuvers to away from attacking ships, just to abort mission and try again.. On ps4, and this is gamebreaking for me.. PLEASE HELP US
I'm on the PS4 and place the aimer over the comet or comet pieces and press down on a thumb stick to lock on.
I think it is the right one to press. At work and it's an automatical thing for me to do. Just be light on the stick and not move it or you end up switching targets.
I take out the cruisers first while getting torpedo shots off at the comet when I can. Once all disabled/ destroyed, focus on comet till next round of ships. Rise/repeat.
I spent many hours last night reading through the forums trying to glean any bit of knowledge I could about how to play the game. Did find a few things, but most of the help is for the PC stuff. I wish they would allocate a quarter of the resources they are spending on trying to get me to give them my money on a simple instruction manual so that I would know what I'm doing, If I was actually enjoying playing the game instead of trying to figure it all out on my own, I might actually consider spending money like I do on Neverwinter.
Why would there be a reputation to complete? Would future toons have access to this reputation?
I would think you just access the reputation store for any character to retrieve, once one character unlocks the event ship for your account. On the PS4, there is whole slew of ships from past events listed. Just can't retrieve them since there is no opportunity to unlock them with a character.

Known bug listed in the update notes that came out. Check the Nov 17th update notes that came out in news.

Torpedoes are best for damaging comet quickly.
