"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them." -Thomas Marrone
Imagine how cool "Rock n Roll" would look flying her?
Vote Echo
Indeed. It is by far the best look. Too bad most people seem to think otherwise. I guess they prefer familiar shapes.
Echo is a great design. But it looks like a Son'a ship too much, I guess it'd be familiar to you if you're watched Insurrection as many times as I have.

I thought so too, and for a culture just taking on warp technology it made sense to me their first ships would be just as useful for atmospheric flight / ground landing. Anyway, life is change, change requires rethinking things, rethinking things is good.
next year there will be a mission you need to do over and over again for 2 weeks plus to get the required drop... you'll need to do it every day. hopefully the quest/mission will be a short one (15 mins or so) and not one that will take over an hour with fully unskippable cut scenes.

IIRC (and they won't deviate from the pattern) from previous years, there will be a feature episode tied to the anniversary event itself -- playing that mission for the first time will get you 400 of the 1000 items you need to get the anniversary ship. You'll get the remaining 600 tokens by playing a 5-10 minute mission for our old friend Q (Junior). Once done, you can turn the 1000 tokens in for the new ship with one character (the rest of your toons can get it through account-reward claim).

Assuming it's like "A Step Between Stars", "Dust to Dust" and "Time and Tide", we'll have to run it one time to get 400 anniversary vouchers. The latter two only required us to run the Omega particle minigame at 3 chosen locations to get the credit. This was at least better than the run to nab that damn mini Q for the vouchers in 2014! x.x

That's right... you only have to do the 1st FE for 400. Then you do the Omega in 3 locations... I prefer chasing Q myself. Super easy and fast.
I suppose now people are going to wonder what type of ship the Anniversary Ship will be... unless it has been mentioned somewhere and I overlooked it.
Last anniversary was the Kremin Science Vessel. I don't think it will be an escort so either science vessel or cruiser. A science oriented cruiser seems to be fitting. It'll be tanky and also be able to do exploration.
That said I think cryptic should reward the alpha vote winners with a special modification to the game;
Those people that voted for Alpha should be required to grind for the alpha Starship before the game will allow them to do anything else. Every 20 hours the game should lock until the grinding is done for the ship to ensure those people that voted for alpha get Alpha.
This will help Cryptic with their beloved metrics and ensure quality voting in future polls.
I hope it's going to be a science vessel as these are the most interesting ones. Worst case would be your default cruiser with ltc tac and sci.

My beloved flying saucer! How could it be so?!?
*makes the "I'm watching you" hand gesture...*
As for how the voting wen't, this is why we can't have nice things.

I'm still not forgiving you for the Jupiter, though. >:C
You seem to be confused. Echo lost.

Will brainstorm to give it something unique though. ^^
