Are Red Alerts gone again?

dubshack79dubshack79 Member Posts: 13 Arc User
I realized one of my toons hadn't earned Checkmate yet, so I set up a Yorktown build and wait in sector space... been waiting most of the day, haven't seen a single alert. Are these just down temporarily? If so, when will they be back up?

The Tholian Red Alert daily mission is also not listed in the Available tab anymore.

I haven't seen any at all today after the patch.
  • norcaler2norcaler2 Member Posts: 114 Arc User
I can confirm that too. Was looking to use the alerts to speed up leveling ships on a new level 50 toon, but nothing popped up.

I've seen the occasional Borg Red Alert in the Alpha Quadrant. But Tholian Red Alerts in the Beta Quadrant are definitely gone. So is the daily mission for it.

I didn't see it mentioned in the patch notes. I hope they're not trying to "improve" it. I seem to recall the old button said "join" red alert, and the new one on the few that have popped in alpha quad say "join queue". If they make this a queued event like the Na'kuhl red alert, i'm going to be kinda pissed. One of the few events where you can just pop in and blow some stuff up. If they make it a queue thing, it's just going to die. They need more pop-up-and-join-instantly events. Too much waiting around in this game as it is.

Since the Tuesday Patch I click to go to a Borg Red Alert, go to the Cube, click on the enter Red Alert and nothing happens.. Same way today after today's patch. Haven't seen a Tholian or Temporal Marauders since Monday before Artifacts.

Seems like we lose Red Alerts every time there is a major update.

  • Red alerts not working after latest patch they no longer appear even if you do find one you cant interact with it anymore or cant join selecting join queue does nothing.

While playing the game I sat for at least 2 hours flying around in sector space without a single red alert I did manage to stumble across one in the alpha quad but only in the sector block that it starts from that at least 10 other ships or more had surrounded they could not get in either after hitting join queue which did nothing at all would not even say if they were able to join the queue or not.

Still no Red Alerts except in Alpha Quad, and those don't start up at all.

Didn't help if that's what they meant by that cryptic wording in the Patch Notes.

So, alerts not showing up... at all, still. Been like this since the patch IIRC.

From what is reported, here and elsewhere, Borg Red Alerts in the Alpha Quadrant are showing up but are non-responsive. Beta and Delta Quadrant get no alerts at all.

Really hope this is not an attempt to convert all Red Alerts to an STF queue that you can only join from sector space, like the Na'kuhl one that has no XP boosts.

I can confirm the non-existance of Red Alerts. I've been playing for 3 days, 10 hours at a time, and I've not seen 1. Not a single one. In any sector.

The Borg Red Alert has reappeared, but has previous posts state. It can not be started.
  • ltminnsltminns Member Posts: 12,572 Arc User
Borg Red Alerts have been around since Artifacts. They are rare but unresponsive. Had that the day that Artifacts released.

If Red Alerts are gone, how do we get related marks?

Saw Sub-commander Mivak, who gives you the Daily Mission, once while traveling through one of the Sectors. She had nothing to give. Sort of the same as the NPCs in the Ground Zone areas on New Romulus.

Well as of now they seem to be back as PVE Queues with choice of Marks award (somewhat). Five people in a Team. Did a Borg and a Tholian. They do not indicate that they are XP Boost Zones. They are the same makeup and requirements to complete.

The Tholian gave me a Choice of Fleet, Romulan or Nakura. I selected Fleet and got 5 (always) 10 (Queue Award) and 55 (Daily). Got two 480 Dilitium Awards

The Borg gave me Omega - 10 (Queue) and 55 (Daily) Omega. Then a select from all the Marks, I took Delta and got 5 Fleet (seems like the always) 1 Delta (Queue Award) and 55 Delta (Daily) and a Normal Queue R&D Package. Each of the two Awards also gave 480 Dilitium.

There is the 30 minute cool down.

There has been absolutely NO WORD from Cryptic about this.

Ok, the Borg and Tholian RAs are back and now setup like the Na'Kul, which I haven't seen yet...Anyone?

Yup, RAs are queues now. While they don't come with a terrible one-minute "briefing" and they remain pretty much "instant action" (if the queue pops, that is), Cryptic's queue frenzy is puzzling as they have to realize themselves that their queue system is terrible and "less popular" queues effectively die and vanish from the game sooner or later. We need more free-form events, not more restrictions and timegates.

Queues pop often. It seems that many times both the Borg AND Tholian show up at the same time.

    No Na'kuhl to be seen.

I did both another time each. Borg gave 10 Omega (Daily taken earlier) as the first Award and the second was a Mark Selection Package. I took Iconian this time that gave 5 Fleet, 1 Iconian, and 55 Iconian (Daily). So it would seem that the primary award for the Selection Mark Box is ONE of the selected Mark.

The Tholian that used to Award Nakura and Romulan when you had the Daily only gives one or the other or Fleet. Sub-commander Mivak does not have that Daily to give you for the Tholian Red Alert. You can only ask her about herself.
