I've set up a fleet on Xbox, same as on pc, the game is enjoyable and im happy enough with it, I dropped £50 to get started. I now have a full roster of regular players simply baying for fleet holdings and getting quite impatient too. I cant help but feel that perhaps they should have left out the fleet system on release and released the system all at once when it was ready.
"If this will be our end, then I will have them make SUCH an end as to be worthy of rememberance! Out of torpedos you say?! Find me the ferengi!".
Console player here and though I may not have full blown doom and gloom going on, it is getting harder and harder to justify logging in, playing, spending etc and my personal issues are centered around one piece, bugs.
Cryptic has always been poor with its CService of neverwinter is any indicator, however they fixed their bugs fairly quickly and didn't stay silent on "game breaking bugs"
To list a few, romulan captains that hit 50 AFTER the update 3 weeks ago, have remained unable to spend their skill points, space traits or specialization points. This is a game breaking bug for 13% of your console population, and I would also argue that this bug has skewed people away from romulans during creation which only leads downhill...
Turn rate, factionless bug that effects everyone to varying degrees. Has at least been acknowledged as a bug but nothing done about it, but don't worry we (cryptic) can still update the cash shop.
I'm sure there's more to list but that's the ones irking me personally the most.
Now let's get to content and a lack of release schedule... cool we got a LOT of content relative to the PC release, problem is the content (fleet holdings) which takes the longest to level and gates all the "top" or interesting gear behind it. I have yet to see a confirmed post saying when or if it will be released, ambiguity is not your friend.
Thanks for listening, feel better at least writing it. I will close with I want to spend money and support the game because I enjoy it, but I refuse to support a company that doesn't support its customers. Please give me a reason to give you more money....
I have played on PC a couple years and I can tell you that the Console version is NOT as good as it should be. They should have worked on it ALOT before releasing the game. Here is a list of just a few of the problems that I have found:
- Some missions objectives will disappear forcing you to abort and skip the mission (though most have been fixed on a previous patch, there are still problems).
-Some missions from the opposing faction appear available to you, and if you accept them (even accidentally) you will not be able to complete nor drop the missions.
- Not all planets are accessible for visit or patrol like they are in PC such as Nukara Prime (Due to their reputation faction not being released yet, but the other planets I have no idea why).
- Some Planets disappear from the Sector Map completely and/or when you do get into their systems, you will sometimes be unable to beam down until you log out or change instance.
- Some walls and floors disappear leading to a player getting stuck.
- The tailor is bugged not allowing you to change outfit slot or type.
- Sometimes if you purchase a ship, it will not appear as purchased nor redeamable (fixed for some and not for others).
- Sometimes you will get stuck INSIDE of a star inside of sector space (I love that honestly).
This thread doesn't really make sense to me, but I read that some of you "don't care". If you don't care then why are you here harassing people?
Gotta figure there is what...around 50k or so active accounts...spread them between two consoles...watching cryptic drop the ball constantly...why would it be anything more than a lost cause?
Can't have a honest conversation because of a white knight with power
Just because I'm really irked at their dropping the ball on this... different scale but I would liken STO console release to pokemonGO on mobile.... such a HUGE opportunity and it is being constantly squandered.
I should also mention that for players that spent money, still are within their rights to cancel transactions if the "promised" items aren't delivered by starting the chargeback process (60 day window to start the claim)... I myself haven't taken this route yet because there still is time and they can get off their backsides on fix this stuff or start communicating...
That and a chargeback will for sure block our account, which sucks because the game is fun when it works properly. The ball is in your court cryptic, and please don't count the sales as final if you don't fix your broken stuff, it all can still walk out the door...

I would make the request now, Cryptic fumbles the ball more than a drunk quarterback.

This game is FAR more popular on console than anyone else has estimated.
Well if you look at the graphic in total:
1.1 Million Captains
YET only:
2.7 Million Boffs
Thus, it appears while a number of people tried that Console versions; not that many stuck with the game as that less them 3 Boffs per Captain on average.
Good player retention would have had that Boff number at 2 to 3 times what the infographic shows. (IE 5.4 - 8.1 million.)
They can spin it however they want but given this is a combined total for both Ps$ and XBone and the market penetration of these Consoles, I wouldn't call those result all that great.

You have a good point. I have a few friends whom, like my self, also play on PC so we knew what to do and where to go on all the missions that were released on console so far. My friends invited me to their team to show me how much trouble they were having. I didn't believe him at first but we sat there for hours and TRIED to finish several missions that should only have taken maybe an hour at most but the objectives were either gone, you couldn't interact with them, or the planet themselves were GONE. The ended up quiting on the console version. Even after one or two of the missions they were having problems with were fixed, they didn't want to come back due to the games shear amount of bugs. What is woarse is that the patch that was suppose to fix some of the story missions created MORE bugs in other areas. They still have not fixed these and I doubt they will fix all of them.
I also don't recommend getting any costumes from the C-store because of the tailor bug. You will be unable to actualy use the content you purchased.

Plus those numbers really don't show how many of them are actually *active* it just shows that a small amount actually made it past the first few levels.
