Can't change screen rez

When I load the game it defaults to 800x600 rez. I have it set in fullscreen mode in the launcher, but it still loads into a window in the top left corner of my screen. I've tried loading in safe mode, but nothing changes. I've tried doing the auto fullscreen in settings but it just makes it a square without detail and some pixels. I'll go into options and manually set the rez I want and it freezes completely without an error window. The music will keep playing but none of the buttons are responsive. I have a BRAND NEW gaming computer with everything up to date (as in no new drivers are needed and my wifi can easily handle the game). This didn't happen before the last patch, so I'm thinking whatever was in the new one did it. Is there any way to fix it, or am I unable to play?

Try using "Maximised Window" instead of Fullscreen? (It also reduces the chance of Alt+Tab-ing out - or a background task deciding to jump in your face with an alert - triggering a CTD)

I have got a similar problem. before this October 25th 4G+ update i enjoyed the fullscreen picture. now it looks like 800x600, resolution in graphic settings can't be changed due to it's grayed out (as it was from moment of the installing this game), turning out to max graphic setting does nothing, but i can still make it worse by lowering the graphic quality. More over, now if I change the graphic setting the client crashes on next loading.

WTF is this last update?? a stupid Halloween joke??
