.... Still can't beat that stupid Borg Diamond though...
I finally got a routine down on XBox that wins, slow but sure.
1. Take your time moving through the zone and don't leave your fleet.
2. When you encounter the diamond it will eventually move. The path it takes passes through the structure and causes most of your fleet to hang up and fall behind.
3. At this point play defensively but stay engaged so the diamond does not heal.
4. The diamond will eventually go back through the structure and your fleet will re-engage. At this point it becomes beatable. You just have to survive to this point. Keep damaging and try not to keep aggro. You will eventually win.
Well, I screwed up that quote and post. Was quoting kageryu's comment about not being able to defeat the diamond on XBox but made it look like he posted a solution.
Anyway, I died 9 times the first battle. Beat it three more times without a death. Just take your time and watch some TV while slowly moving around the zone.
Regarding boff skills. Is it worthwhile giving the same skill to different officers? for example if I have 2 tactical officers slotted and they both have BFAW 1, is it worthwhile having both use it or does it share a cooldown? Also, same with should you equip each level of a skill (if applicable) or just the highest level.

So..its situational... Two of the same ability reduced the amount of time you have to wait till its available again..THis can also be done with a variety of other cooldown methods..Typically if I have FAW3 but only have seating for a FAW2 I will use those 2.Even thow Faw 2 his 1 fewer target and has less of a damage boost.
Now..Sometimes...I equip 2 low level skills,Say Torpedo spread 1(For Maximum Qphase effectiveness on that torp). I might do this because my current boff seating doesn't allow for higher tac skills or Im using Kemocite and Pattern Beta in the LT slot with no cmd Tac available...

Hi, I'm new to the game (well I tried it once but it didn't stick) and right now I'm enjoying it. I have some questions. How do I enter pvp zones? I need to do so for a tutorial and I'm confused as to what to do. Can someone explain what will happen once I enter please? Is pvp queueing unavailable?
On another topic what is the best way to team up with another player? It's getting a bit lonely grinding by myself.

I think the R&D manuals for upgrading is from a requisition officer. I don't remember if it is from ground or shipyard requisitions. Training manuals for boff abilities is from another guy at Earth spacedock near the Admiral's office. If you're not Fed they would be somewhere at the main faction hub.

Ker'rat is a space PVP arena. But its separated into ranks (I believe).. So a low tiered 40 wont fight a 60 on the same map.
WHat will happen once you enter...Depends on how well you know your abilities and the abilities being used on you...BUt most like the first 100 or so times your going to die spectacularly and quickly..
PVP Queuing is..a TRIBBLE shoot..at least in PC..Somedays it pops all day long ..others..it wont pop once..
Best way to team up: ask a friend (Sometimes asking in zone will get someone willing to help for a mission or 2..) in chat. Then right click there name and select "invite to Team." Then go to your mission thingy and share mission (if available)...Then proceed to mission location.
Ancient Omni-Directional Antiproton Beam Array cannot be upgraded.
The wiki states here that beam weapons tech upgrades are needed to upgrade the weapon, however they do not appear when selecting the tech upgrade box, despite having several including blue and superior beam weapon upgrades.
The wiki doesn't state the fact that you need to manually select the weapon from the inventory and select upgrade from the drop-down menu, the weapon will not appear in the list of upgradable items when doing it the normal way i.e through the upgrade screen itself.

definitely looks like a bug since we can get the weapon into the item slot but can't select the tech upgrade to use.
Perhaps it's because we don't have R&D yet (which most omni weapons are tied to) the weapon won't be upgradable until then.

i doubt the 10% increase would be noticable since i was also using 2x 30% antiproton tactical consoles as well, also it's actually a 3pc set but the last part you can only get from the Obelisk carrier through the lobi store -_-

Thatsa what I meant. (2 pieces from the mission)..
The problem is, without the fleet I can only seem to do a massive 1 or 2% damage, which the diamond heals instantly. If I bust out all the heavy abilities I can maybe up this to 5%... but that still heals instantly a few seconds later. One time, with the fleet, got it all the way down to 35%... then the Diamond started using 1 hit kill attacks (watched my ship go from 85% hull and near full shields to dead in a single hit)... then by the time I get back in the fight from the respawn point the diamond was back up to 80% and moving away from the fleet way too fast. Granted, this was before I tied in 4 consecutive Plasma Relays, and picked up 1 Epic lvl 15 and upgraded two others to Very Rare lvl 13s... but in other fights while I have seen an improvement in damage, I do not feel it will be enough to engage the diamond still. That whole mission is broken.
Sadly, I only have 1 TV, so if I am playing Xbox, I can't watch anything. There are times I wish this weren't the case.
With Torpedo Spread, I feel it is definitely worth it to double up. Especially if you have more than one torpedo weapon - then you can lay down a veritable wall of torpedoes. For example, I have a Romulan prototype mega-plasma Torpedo on the front of my ship, and a regular Plasma torpedo on the rear. With 2 tac officers both with Torpedo Spread III (and I was going to swap one out when I could get to pick up a training manual but decided not to). I did not even know the Spread would work with the prototype, but it does, and it is beautiful watching the ship lay down a wall of those slow moving deadly projectiles (it usually does 3x3 for 9 when it triggers the spread) then do a quick 180 and fire a spread of the smaller and faster ones from the aft.
With beam weapon abilities there seems to be more of a shared cool down, but it is shorter than normal. On many engineering abilities I am not seeing a cool down with double up, and it seems one can be triggered right after the other.
So doubling up seems more effective with some abilities than others.
Does anyone know how to disable the IWS Sithesh in the mission Taris. I've got the ship with the 4 nacelle's, can't remember the name of it, but I get hammered everytime I try and fight it, got it down to 48% but died then about the time I got back after respawn it was back up near 100%....doing my head in, do I need better weapons,ship..

For bonus marks, I have noticed it seems the only way to know if you still have the bonus is if you have a mission which states the mark rewards. Look at what it tells you and then after receiving the marks look at how many you actually receive. It's a bit frustrating not having a more descriptive character screen. Like the one we had at launch would be better at least.

Aft weapons
Twin phaser beam array Mk IV
Disruptor beam array Mk V
Plasma turret Mk VI
Shield deflector- Shield array Mk IV
Deflector array Mk IV
Combat Hyper-Impulse Engines Mk VI
Field stabilizing Warp Core Mk VI
Not sure if all that helps..
My Suggestion... and it is only one school of thought, there are others I am sure, when it comes to ship weaponry decide with 1primary type and 1 secondary type and keep it. That is, either Phasers, Plasma Beams, Disruptors, Polaron, etc... While Cannons, and/or Beams can be mixed within that type. Then, get boosts for that type of weapon (if Phasers, find Phaser Relays, if Disruptors, find Disruptor Induction Modules, etc...). In this way, it is easier to get amplifiers and boosts that improve total offensive ability. Some modules that boost are very specific (such as just boosting Cannon damage) and others are more general (such as Boosting All disruptor, or All Plasma weapons). While I can see the allure of mixed weapons to get a variety of effects (and did experiment with it briefly) I find it is harder to tune it's performance for optimum levels.
I do not know how much tuning your weapons will help against the particular fight you are having. I know I had some scenario fights where it didn't seem to matter how good my weapons were and had to go through multiple respawns because of what I call cheap attacks. I do not recall the specific mission you are asking about, but have been in the situation you describe (need to whittle away an enemy, get them low and they kill me, then by the time I return from respawn they are fully healed).
I would say to insure a good loadout of healing abilities, distractionary abilities, as well as offensive abilities on your bridge officers. If you have "Miracle Worker" for an engineering officer, it can be a lifesaver when timed right. Any of the fleet support powers can also be useful if you can quickly fall back out of weapon range once they trigger. I tend to keep "Miracle Worker", "Hazard Emitters", and "Power to Shields" on manual quick trigger so I can time them instead of having the auto-execute waste them on minor damage and dying during cooldown. I tend to set things like "Fleet Support" and any/all of the Torpedo Spread powers to auto-execute. To escape range quickly to heal I suggest using powers like Evasive Maneuvers. You may just have to do a number of hit and run attacks on this opponent to slowly knock him down.
I do not know if any of this will be useful to anyone...I am still fairly new to the game myself (only been playing since September) - so technically I am still a newb despite my character level.

No they havent..Its apart of the RnD stuff (i.e not a rando drop) ;P Which I do believe is coming soon

I'm playing on the Xbox One, so not sure how to do all that...ill look and see, there is a option of mixing different items and then it creates a new one, no idea what item needs to go with what tho...
