Mirror Invasion - stupid Jammer

Didn't see it, but was told that the static that screws with my targeting during the Mirror Invasion event is an anti-matter burst. Anyone verify this?

What I did notice was that it caused me to blast the heck out of one of the Friendlies (another player). Luckily, they were is a ship that could sponge it up. If I'd been doing the normal mode, I think I would have accidently destroyed a weak player's ship. Would have felt bad about it. But still...

Oops.

Antimatter Spread from a Galaxy class.
Sci Team can clear it instantly.

Everything NPCs can throw at you is instantly cleared with either one of the teams or hazard emitters. And it all has to be simply lvl 1. The antimatter spread can even be auto-cleared by the intel tree or a myriad of items (redundant sensors I think).

It's really a shame how easy this game is. And that Cryptic doesn't realize that HP sponges don't make it more challenging but diverse tactics would. Imagine a antimatter spread would require the team to have a kitted out sci that could counter the effect or *gasp* it would be wise to stop shooting for a second otherwise.

Well... the mentality of most people is "It can't hurt you if it is already dead", so they don't really slot anything that doesn't somehow augment damage output. Who needs a shield heal if your attacker is already dead?

I never leave home without all three team abilities myself. Means I may not do quite as much damage, but I'm able to adapt to most debuffs.

Also... Terrans are one of the few enemy groups that actually use other abilities like Antimatter Spread.

Nothing annoying about it. It is what it is. This game caters to people who prefer pew-pew-pew. When something occurs which requires an answer other than a quick trigger finger, they are easily flustered.

Main problem with it is when a terran galaxy uses saucer separation the saucer can use it too, even if the cruiser is still waiting for the cooldown to end.

Heck I still use it in my Galaxy X....esp in runs like this one. Fly into a huge swarm of Mirror ships that are ebbing at station from AFK's not helping, pop antimatter spread, let them shoot at each other, mop up the leftovers. Quite satisfactory. Also handy if you end up at the rift with the dreadnought at the end. Destroy the frigates, pop antimatter spread, close rift. Even if the Standi is right on top of you, she can't use science team so you are good for the necessary few seconds to close the rift and move on to the next one.

    I wasn't complaining.
I just got caught by surprise as I've not shot another player by accident before.

On purpose in the warzones? heck yeah! pew-pew-pew!

If any player ship can soak it up...obviously you ain't doing enough damage

lol! he was using one of the giant Romulan ships - slow, but with lots of hp. Lower level peeps are around the same hp or less than the Terran Escorts in the event. I can blow those up with one hit. I hit the Friendly with 4 volleys plus torps.... so... hehehe. was BIG oops.
