Star Trek's 50th

Well, Star Trek's 50th is only 4 days away (at the time of this post). Do you think we'll get a new mission or event from the developers to celebrate that very important date to all of us?

Personally, if they did something that enabled the player to visit all eras of Trek in a single mission, temporal enemies or no, that would be fun. I know there is a mission that has us bouncing around the timeline. But, one with TOS, TNG, DS9, VGR, ENT, and/or Kelvin Timeline, would be fun.

    Most likely, we will see the T1 TOS Connie being given away to all players to celebrate the 50th Anniversary (as a consolation for not getting the T6 TOS Connie).

    Free T6 NX, Constitution (pilot & series), KonsTitution (09 & BEY), Constitution refit, Yorktown, Excelsior, Ambassador (prototype and YE), Galaxy (series and X), Sovereign (FC and NEM), Oddssey, and Universe classes.

    All with brand new models and an exclusive registerory of NCC 1701 X.

    JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

    While I like your idea OP I am not expecting much if anything at all. Releasing the T6 connie in the promo gamble box has turned me off from caring about what Crytpic is going to release in the future. I will continue to enjoy what I already have in game. They will release a dev blog on the 50th anniversary and that is all that I expect to see.

    Rumor has it that They are going live with the console versions sometime in the next week or so...

    That may be Their big Thing.

    You just got a 15% bonus on Zen purchases. Wasn't that enough?! What else do you expect? Another 10% price reduction on those 2 million dilithium costumes? Don't be so greedy! :p

    I've said it before, and I'll say it again.

    All I expect is a dev blog saying "Happy 50th Star Trek!"

    I know it sounds pessimistic, but the way I see it if I don't expect anything I won't be disappointed if Cryptic does something uncool, or doesn't do anything at all. And if Cryptic does anything even remotely player-friendly, it will be a pleasant surprise.

    Got my bases covered. :)

    The Console version is coming out Tuesday according to the people working the booth at ST Mission NY

    STO is a game. Something I do for entertainment. Cryptic is part of Perfect World International. A game company which is in this business for profit. I really do not expect anything from either of them, regardless of the significance of the date.

    I'll jump in and say we get a YouTube video of all the voice actors (including Star Trek TV talent) thanking us and wishing us another 50yrs of Trek. And then we will cry from it's awesomeness.

    I'll be disappointed if i'm not disappointed with whatever token gesture we get.

    However i'll freely admit to being surprised if we get anything more fancy as they do (very, very rarely) pull one out of the bag and catch us all off guard.

    I have to agree with this. They don't give anything away for free anymore. I can't wait to see the rage from players on the 8th.

    I think you will be disappointed anyways....

    To be completely honest I'm expecting that too. Lol.

    I guess I'm starting to get pessimistic about my pessimistic views... Hmm.

    This would be cool but I dont see it happening... if we're lucky we'll get a blog post like a couple people said cause they're still too busy TROLOLOLing to the bank thanks to the t6 TOS R&D box horse dung
