PvP has its place in the game, undependant of the number of players.
If somebody can not agree he may stay in his ISA and CCA. And other 4-5 queues that are left there. Compared with what it could be, PvE is dead too.

split up the abilities into PvE and PvP.

Hasn't Borticus addressed this popular suggestion in a podcast in the past? Or am I totally making that up on my own? I could have sworn he or someone on the dev team had gone into some details about how difficult and unlikely that is to happen because of time and resources?

It's definitely a popular suggestion though.

But most abilities already have their durations or effectiveness (like flanking) diminished in PvP? So I don't really understand this, it seems they can make these changes every time something new is released so it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

I'm probably wrong then. It's very very possible I'm not remembering Borticus words correctly. Or even if it was Borticus. Sorry for spreading any confusion.

It's definitely a popular suggestion and would if they did it, certainly address the core issue of this thread.

Agree.. would be the best solution..
Rapid decay 3 -75 allres (-15 vs players)
    For example would be awesome

Same for my escort.. i am one of the las energy escorts with dhcs in PvP and i was still pretty effective.. now cause of entropic stuff they just click me to death while i pass them..
Sounds like you need to counter it with a T'liss that can fire said clicky stuff while staying cloaked ;)
That is a good way to get blown up, too.

Snooper builds to detect cloaked vessels are not new. Admittedly, the EPG stuff doesn'T care about whether your shield sare up or down anyway, so it might not be much of a loss, but every ship with Enhanced Battle Cloak also has a low hull.
Hull strength is currently irrelevant anyway. Same with resists as has been discussed. If you do a MILLION spike damage in a second, which a lot of players/builds do, it doesn't matter how much hull or resists you have, you will die.

Immunities and Placates/disables keep you alive, which my snooper build uses to maintain something like a 50/1 K/D ratio. Granted I haven't used that build since AoY because I've been busy with PVE, combining a snooper with Temporal skills is just OP as hell right now.

And for reference, I'm the one the OP PVP'ed with.

    It's true. 100% lol.
When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.

Regarding resistance to exotic damage: I just noticed something.

I have this special Doff available on two characters, the Na'kuhl one that gives a few percent of outgoing damage as own hull repair whenever you activate either a sci or a tac ability.

The tac one has the tactical variant and I almost never have to worry about hull repair anymore. I think I've about 7 or 8 tac abilities on this character so it will almost always trigger once when activating everything.

The same is true for my exotic damage Sci. I have noted, though, that although I have as many sci BOFF abilities as I have tac ones on my tac, the hull repair is almost nothing, especially when compared to the other character.

I think the average DPS of the tac is 30k, the sci deals somewhere between 50 and 60k. So surely the Sci should get more hull repair out of this Doff?

The only explanation I can think of (besides the fact that it's random and it may just be an exceptional case) is that damage over time effects do not trigger the healing, per the discription of the Doff. Apperently a significant part of my Sci's damage is DOT-damage as it would be the only thing that can explain the huge difference in effectiveness of these two doffs.

So, resistance against DOT-effects should, in theory, greatly help against most exotic builds, shouldn't it? Perhaps it's worth it to focus on that then.

why not just use all t1 ships with no doffs and no ship traits , seems like that would put lots of pvp on a level playing field.

Too boring. You need a suite of powers to have interesting options.

Tier 3 can be pretty nice, still requires some hard choices in what you pick for your ship and that means teamwork and team builds become very important - without the game becoming a gank/immunity fest.

But there is no "Tier 3 ship only" queue, so it's purely theoretical.

Healing isnt the problem.. u have nothing to heal when youre onehitted by entropic stuff

There are many situations where you either have nothing to heal or just can't heal. Getting disabled then killed, having your power levels drained to 0 and being able to do absolutely nothing while your ship is picked apart, being focused on by multiple enemies, or just plain getting ganked by someone decloaking on your rear arc and vaping you before you can really react.

Again, it's not EPG builds that are the problem. It's the shoddy way the Temporal abilities were introduced and the (IMO) rather poor decision to introduce another damage type to space combat without also introducing adequate ways to mitigate it.

Anyways.. more immunities would be TRIBBLE.. adding resistances making no sense cause the debuffs are too strong anyways.. so nerfing is the only solution
