You have some nerve putting these High Tier TOS ships in a promo box!

Cryptic/PWE/CBS/Paramount or whoever you have some real nerve putting these T6 TOS ships in a promo box especially the TOS Constitution around the time of the Trek 50th anniversary and after having told us you would never be allowed or able or wanting to make something like that available in game. So now what you did is have a big a cash grab or something with very low odds of winning the ships and even if we want one other players that have won them will sell them for expensive prices like oh say 900 million energy credits. What the heck did you do that for? You have any idea how angry that makes me? I'm actually one of the ones who wanted something like that and I'm also one of the players who got a gold plated D'Kora. You were always shutting down threads talking about this issue and others like it and always told us it would never happen and then you add the Kelvin Lockbox which has the Tier 6 Kelvin Constitution which I myself own and then you announce and launch this promo that and you also did the hugely expensive Wrath of Khan and MACO costumes as per character unlocks on the dilithium store. Seriously what are you people doing? You need to raise the odds for the promo box to give out the T6 ships boxes because seriously I've opened quite a few and it's driving me insane that I haven't gotten one yet. I mean could you raise the damn odds already? What the hell were you thinking?

    Cryptic/PWE/CBS/Paramount or whoever

Oversimplifying this a little bit, but for clarity this is who those people are:

Cryptic = Video Game developer who created and maintain this game, Star Trek Online (as well as Champions Online and Neverwinter Online).

Perfect World Entertainment = Parent company who owns Cryptic as well as other studios that make video games in Asia.

CBS = Central Brodcasting Systems, a TV network and media conglomerate that owns the rights to Star Trek television stuff.

Paramount = Film studio that owns the rights to Star Trek movie stuff.

 Just want to keep the players straight in this discussion. Kind of like a playbill before the opening curtain. Because there's a lot of different interests involved in this kind of stuff. It can get confusing. And each one were involved in a different way with how this all happened.

I know right? It's sometimes confusing as which companies make what games in this age.

I get that you're mad and I also get that you may take my comment the wrong way, but do you realise you were "fine" with it until a point where you noticed you wouldn't get the ship?
We - all of us - who don't agree with this method of doing things can not go for it even if it's just a box.

Well a small prayer eventhough it's likely moot, I'm hoping this cash grab is for early ownership and they come back and say "OK here it is in the zen store* like 6 months later.

Did I hit a nerve there? I never received a gold plated D'kora and I never will - and I won't cry about it even though you got one by pure chance in a lottery. By your logic, you should discharge your fancy gold ship because it's unfair that most players will never even have a chance to get one and you can't grant one to them. At least with this system, there's a chance for anyone to get a T6 Connie.

Want to know the biggest tragedy in all this? If you'd sold those R&D packs for 15 mill each, you'd have been much closer to affording a T6 Connie with energy credits, especially since it'll be cheaper than 750 mill within a week or two. In fact, that's how I got my very own. Aint she a beauty?

I will just concentrate on the Kelvin Timeline one after it gets added to the Infinity Lockbox. That will occur in the transition between the next Lockbox and the one after that.

Oh, you can dismiss the Nagus all you want. It is a C-Store Account Unlock (Promotions Tab).

What the hell were they thinking? Probably something along the lines of "we have finally got permission from the Powers That Be to put an endgame Constitution-class into the game; the players have been asking for this since, like, forever; if it is something the players want, it will be something the players are prepared to pay for." Seems like a sound business decision to me... and if Cryptic doesn't make sound business decisions, they will go out of business.

Mean part is at least we have an infinity lock box but with promo stuff? Some kind of infinity promo pack perhaps with regular reruns four times a year or so. That would help and be realistic.

All those promos ships are forever put of reach unless Cryptic does something like you suggest. Also those Starship Traits are stuck there as well (Delta Prime, Point Defense, and Scramble Fighters) and will never reduce in Exchange price.

At least those Ultra Rare in Lockboxes can be gotten through the Infinity.

So, you experienced they reason I thought was going to be happening to me, and thus do not spend a single dime on them boxes.
Hmmm.... Guess I'm the smarter one?

    As for increasing luck chance?
I fear, that's not going to happen...

I'm sorry but considering the amount of times a discussion concerning the possibility of getting a t5 or better constitution class ship as come since I've been playing. Gives an indication of how much players wanted this ship. So is it a surprise Cryptic decided to put some where that would have the potential to generate the most profit for them? Personally I think it's was inevitable that's where it would end up. Whether I like it or not its done and I don't see it being undone.
Oh, it's not broken? We can soon fix that!

There's only 4 promo runs a year already. Perhaps just one would do the trick.

I don't like it either, the way they're doing this promo. I really think it's horrible. But, let's face it, it doesn't say 'Not for Profit' next to PWE.

I would be curious to hear from Cryptic as to why they didn't use this opportunity to give people who unpacked a 23rd Century Promo Ship Pack a Top/Stovepipe Hat and monocle. This way we could get more D-7s flying around, commanded by top-hatted Gorn.

OP, if you got a gold-plated D'Kora, you can afford to pony up for a T6 Connie. Nobody likes a crybaby.
