No Sound at all in STO

invixusinvixus Member Posts: 3 Arc User
win 10 home 64bit
AMD FX 6 core 3.5 ghz
16g ram
SB Audigy.

All audio in Star Trek online is absent since (at least) the last update (august).
All other audio functions in other programs and games function properly.
Played with the audio settings of course to no effect.
Reinstalled client to no effect. Still no sound. Pew pew sounds are mandatory! :dizzy:

There could be an issue in the game with the SB Audigy.

Try removing your sound card and install the sound drivers for your motherboard's integrate sound chip to see if that resolves the problem for the moment.

I've had this PC with Audigy for a year (granted on win 8.1) with no problems. My first thought was a compatibility issue with win10/STO updates but it would be more widespread I think if that were the case. I submitted a ticket thingy and will wait and see what cryptic has to say, then I'll try your suggestion. Thanks! :)

update: sound now works when "digital audio interface" is selected in the audio options menu, so apparantly I did...something. Digital interface was always non functional before. Maybe I missed it when playing with it the other day? Anyway, thanks for your time! :)

I think it's just an issue with STO. I recall seeing a complaint regarding STO and a SB sound card after a recent patch.

Hi, I have some sound issues, too. My weapons (ground and space) don't make any noises, but I can still listen others players weapon's noises. (sorry english is not my native language).

You will have MUCH better luck staring your own post using the info for your specific problem. If someone has had your problem before and figured out a solution, it is extremely unlikely they will even read a post for a totally different problem and see yours. Also, the OP already stated they found and fixed the problem. Most people that do read the post will stop reading at that point and again, never see your problem.

    LTS and loving it.
