Crafting & Recalibration..

I not sure about re-calibration of kits on STO and how it could be implemented etc.

but on 'the Division' you pick up bits and pices, but then can re-calibrate the kits/mods etc.

this RNG of Sto sucks... but given the calibrate options...

this is a great way to do a dili sink..!

instead of a blasted lotto system.

any more ideas?

    I'm not sure exactly what your saying. Kits are already modular. What do you mean by the lotto system? Between the lock box kits and the fleet Embassy,Spire and Researchlab kits, almost every passive and slotting combo already exist. The newer kit system is one of the best changes STO has done over the years. The old way of premade kits was frustrating since you had to take what it had and find one close to what skills you wanted.

    The new kits and modules are better than the previous version, but there is still room for improvement. For example kits and modules can not be upgraded to Mk 14 epic. Also the ability to craft the modules that drop as loot would have been a nice idea. Obviousky keep the ones from lock boxes seperate. The rng of the R&D system is a pain in the butt and in my opinion is poorly designed. Every other game ive played you find the item you want and get given a list of things that are required for that item. So off you go gathering or leveling to you get evrything that is needed. Go to the crafting place or person and craff the item you want. Fully aware of the stats and mods it'll have. This rng TRIBBLE is just that.

    And from a recent pod cast I think it was Gecko said they do want to revisit the R&D system at some point. Also the option to break down unwanted items into components or other drafting mats is something that should have been added to the new system right from the very beginning.
    Oh, it's not broken? We can soon fix that!

    I really hate the current system, modules like a VR Ambush Mk XIII are horribly overpriced for what they are, simply because they are only randomly obtainable from queues that virtually nobody plays anymore.

    I got all of mine from running the assimilated mission from Borg story arc. But as you said the random drop issue is just horrible.
    Oh, it's not broken? We can soon fix that!

    I just wish we could get Very Rare mk XIII versions of kit skills from lockboxes. Being stuck on Mk XII is sad.

    Didn't they downgrade Assimilation's rewards awhile back?
    Or did that get reverted when they re-arranged the Episode Arcs again?

    Yes I think it is time to allow us to upgrade atleast the kits and it would be another dil sink that helps the exchange.

    They don't provide full coverage by a long shot.

    They did, only Mk XI modules are available.

    A few Delta Arc Missions award Mk XIII Rare and Very Rare Kits and Modules. The Fleet Research Lab has Mk XIII UR Kits and Modules.
