Lohlunat Festival - Where is the last day?

lekendrilekendri Member Posts: 10 Arc User
I'm posting on behalf of my son who is unable to post due to being too new.

Upon logging in today to get the final 40 Lohlunat Prize Vouchers to claim the Vorgon Xyfius Heavy Escort, the summer resort contains nothing but other players standing round, probably wondering the same thing.

In the post https://arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/10001583-star-trek-online%3A-summer-event-2016 it states
The Lohlunat Festival runs from June 9 to July 21. We'll see you there!

I'm not sure how that translates to the rest of the world but here that would mean that the festival is on until 23:59 on 21st July, unless another time is stated.

What gives?

    Yesterday, was the last day.
It got shut off this morning.

    That is not new, BTW.
It has always been that way with all Events.
The cut-off time is always when the new patch hits on Thursday morning.

Thanks for the answer, although "it has always been this way" doesn't really explain why they misadvertise.
A store having a sale with those dates would be presecuted for not honoring the advisertised sale dates. But hey, you all seem to have just accepted false advertising cos it's always been like that.

Says it ends on the 21st and it did end on the 21st.How is not pinpointing the exact time on that day false advertising? From what I can remember the day starts at 12:00 AM.so technically they could have ended it then and still not falsely advertised. It is starting to amaze me how many people in this world want to blame others for their own lack of understanding fully what is stated.

Fully stated would be an exact time. Not having people logging on on the day it ends to find it's already ended.

The ingame calendar always shows the date & time of when ingame events start and end.

yes, and the ingame calendar clearly showed it still present on 21st July. Which is my point.
I live in the UK, so clocks are somewhere around 6-8 hours ahead. Unfortunately servers were down for the update when I logged in shortly after my 20h cooldown was over, although there was none of the usual server will be down bar at any point during the previous day, and at the point where I logged in at 1730 UTC+1, everything had stopped. But the calendar still showed the summer festival still there on 21st.

The event still ran for 7 hours on the 21st.Also you had 41 days to get 1000 vouchers, that should have only taken you 25 days. They gave us plenty of time for it so complaining about the final day not really being the final day gives little weight to your argument.

    It'll be over quicker.
Anyway, thanks for taking the time away from ESD trolling.

It ended at 1pm EST/10 am PST on the 21st for me, which is right when the in-game calendar said it would end.

Events pretty much always end at 10AM Pacific Time (whether that's PDT or PST), this is always shown on the in game calendar. There is the odd time where they finish an hour earlier or later, but the in game calendar always has the exact time it'll end.

The in game calendar displays all times in local time. I too live in the UK and I was actually on Risa between 17:30 and 17:59 local time just after maintenance ended so I could turn in the last of my tropical birds. For those of us in the UK the in game calendar stated the event would end on the 21st at 6PM, which is when it ended.

It's interesting that you actually know the difference between PDT and PST. Not many Americans I encounter would know.

So you were there the exact time it ended? I always wondered what happens. Does the bird lady just disappear into thin air?

Haha, yeah it's surprising how many people don't understand timezone changes during summer/winter.

They do just disappear! It was part of the reason I stayed after I'd finished actually, I'd never seen it happen before. They literally just faded out in front of my eyes.
