Except that all of us Lifetime players get 8000 Di processed a day, even when we are not logged in.
Sometime it is more. Sometime going from Starfleet academy gets me an extra 8000, sometimes in happens on DS9 ... This bug was reported a long time ago I think but because it doesn't happen every time it is a hard bug to find and fix....
Cryptic ... remember last year when you nerfed Dilithium weekends, and we all had a sit in at the starbase?
So why are you nerfing it again? ...
From today's patch notes ... Increased assignment cooldown on "Turn In Contraband" assignments from 4 hours to 20 hours.
Were we making too much Dilithium again for your liking? At least it was bringing people into the game. Believe it or not a 50% upgrade for playing queues is not going to do it.
Yawn. As a Fed, I'm lucky to get that contraband assigment once a week.
I'd welcome an increase to the refinement cap with open arms, I just hope it would come with a dil exchange max rate increase as well, cause a market sitting at 500 consistently would get boring.

The market was over-saturated with freefloating-dilithium...... The stuff was practically worthless. This and the upgrade weekend will do a lot to give it some more value.

@evilmark444 There will never be an increase in the dil exchange max rate. Borticus mentioned this and why so.
No matter how much you want to see it happen because it'll be better and worth your money, Cryptic doesn't want it to happen. They have always believed that Lower rates are better for exchange sellers and buyers alike.

Well, it's better for Cryptic anyway. If the demand for dilithium is high, players are more likely to buy Zen to trade for dil and it also encourages players to play the game more to earn dilithium. High dil value is win-win for them. As long as it doesn't hit the lower cap, anyway.
For the players, as long as it doesn't hit the caps, 1 Zen will always get you 1 Zen worth of dilithium. Or, 1 Zen worth of someone else's grinding time and refining quota. That's the genius of the dilex over the fixed price currency sales often seen in other games. It's always the right price as the community at large sees it.
But hitting the cap is certainly the worst option for everyone. The choices always were to increase the value of dilithium to prevent hitting the cap, or raise the cap. Cryptic chose the former. Can't say I disagree with that.
Cryptic could have not been complete arses and upped the payout a bit to compensate for the longer time. How about 4k? Still a huge cut in income for those players that farm it 24/7, but actually an increase for busy people like me who do it once a day (if I'm lucky).

If you do it once a day then why are you complaining? You get exactly the same 2K/day as you got last month.

Yeah...I would have liked to see more CXP, at the least, for hogging a slot for 20 hours. But then, they may have didn't check in game...just on the Wiki.

If that should ever happen, then I suppose the number of STO playing Arc Quests would skyrocket since that would be the only source of free Zen. Though I am not sure how long it takes to get Zen since I never bothered with Arc Quests,
Depending on which quests you get, I think to earn 500 zen on Arc quests is about a month, same as a lifer monthly stipend.
The biggest point-getter takes 7 days to complete, awarding 500 exp points. For every 600 exp points you get 500 arc points. Earn 5000 arc points and you can trade it for 500 zen
There can be up to three Arc quests going at once.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything.

How it works: if you don't log into a character for at least 24 hours, you will have 8k dil refined for every 24 hours you didn't log in, up to a week's worth, when you finally do log in. When your dil auto refines when you finally log in, you can still manually refine 8k dil for that day. I've never had a problem with it. If your dil doesn't auto refine, you probably logged in less than 24 hours ago on that character. So it's a per character thing. There have been times I didn't log into my alts for a while but did actually play the game, and the auto refine kicked in for the ones that had dil to refine when I did finally log into them.
Yes, I've noticed this with mine since I became a LTS almost a week ago. I don't play all my alts, and the ones I didn't log into for over 24 hours had dil to refine, plus I could refine more.
Now a LTS and loving it.

Dilithium has always been really easy to get, but as long as the refine limit stays at 8,000 this won't make much of a difference at all.
I agree...although the nerfs to the Voth BZ was uncalled for.
Even if we all make 1 million unrefined Dil a session, we can only refine the 8k a day.
I'm still baffled by Dil nerfs.

True... but why should that stop me from presenting awesome fixes!
Carrot & stick, guy. Cryptic could have been a bit more diplomatic than "NERFBAT FTW!!!!! " and been like "To moderate dil generation by some players we have increased the cooldown to 20hrs, but increased the payout to balance the lessened opportunity some players may encounter."

That's exactly what i was thinking too.
Instead of just cutting dilithium income for people who don't have the time to play all day (if you happen to have several character), they should have given us at least some breadcrumb.
Heck my motivation to play STO has been on the rock bottom anyways, even before the dissappointing AoY 23rd century nonfaction dud.
I'm seriously reassessing if i should continue playing this game at all, since basically everything the developers do is contrary to what i like about STO?
(and seriously there isn't very much left anyways)

If you don't have time to play all day, this nerf doesn't affect you, because you have to play all day if you want to turn in contraband every 4 hours. You have to make the contraband first, and then you have to log in at least every 4 hours to do the turn-in.
