Am I going mad?

Read the question before you say yes!

I could have sworn the TNG movie Dress uniform was available in the tailer? But I can't find it.

That's the Diplomatic uniform. It's unlocked by getting to Tier 4 in Diplomacy.

    As for your question.

I dunno. It's not my place to judge someone else's sanity, especially since I'm not 100% certain about my own... :p

God damn it, my sanity won't be there if I have to keep reading up on things. So, got a guide on how to do diplomacy? Because my idea of diplomacy is usually at the end of a phaser

In fact, I need a guide on all things Duty Officers because I tend to just keep clicking buttons until the thing goes off my screen without really knowing what the hell I'm doing. Would have been nice if Diplomacy Missions were actually, you know, missions. I don't remember Picard or Kirk or even Sisko using their subordinates in diplomatic storylines. As I remember, Picard was considered a consummate diplomat which is why the writers chose him to go down that route after retiring.

Diplomacy missions are generally DOFF missions about settling disputes on mining rights, buying prototype turrets, escorting envoys, stuff like that. You can sometimes find a line of diplomatic missions from your First Officer if you click the third button down on the side, then click First Officer. You can find diplomatic missions on space stations and a few in sector space.

I'm sure others have some good advice on diplomacy missions. I think there's one on K-7, too.

Oh, and my sanity has been in question for a long time ;)
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything. :D

I'm definitely losing my marbles. The third button down on the side is my small ship (shuttle). I vaguely remember a section for departmental missions but I can't seem to find it. Now it seems to be a reputation menu but I don't know what that is either.

The duty officer system can be accessed by the little button under the minimap next to the Dilithium Store button.

Best place I have found for Diplomacy Doff missions is to sit over Sol on the sector map, you can get easily 6+ two-person missions a day, and about once a day you can get that 'entertain diplomat' one that needs five people (1x bartender, 1x chef, 1x entertainer, 1x security officer, 1x advisor / diplomat at least I think that's the required ones).

Also, the Diplomacy missions are found under the 'first officer' tab in the Department Head section of the Doff menu.

Here's list of Diplomatic Doff Assignments. You can click on each to see where on the map(s) it can be found. A little bit out of date and the doff borders on the map is still effed to hell so some of these may never show up unless you're really lucky, or know exactly where to look. But it is the most current and complete guide.

    Pffff. Too easy.

Potato-head does the same thing for the price of a Delta Rising mission. No, what is awesome is you can have a Gorn!

Thanks, that's a start but I am still clueless on the whole duty officer assignment/missions thingymebob which is why I'm asking if there is a guide on how to use them, what benefits I get from using them, and what I need in order to use them. Same applies to the reputation. My sum total of knowledge in this game is how to blow things up. I'm interested in knowing more.

Dude, do a Google search. You know, the same one I would have to do in order to hand you your guide on a silver platter.

Reddit has loads of guides, walkthroughs, etc.

You have thousands of people on your ship and need to keep them busy. They have gotten bored singing the macarena and need something to do. If you click the button with 3 heads on it you will have a screen. This screen is a magical tool that lets you do things like admiralty, research and development, and duty officers.

Duty Officers: Send your officers on missions to garner fame, glory, and a little bit of deuterium as well as xp. As they level up you unlock new officers and possibly some other stuff.

Research: Research different technologies so you can craft stuff.

Admiralty: All those ships you've collected while leveling up and playing the game can now be put to use on missions to gather materials and deuterium. When you finish all 10 special missions on each side (Romulan, Klingon, Federation) you get an extra special scooby snack.

How to play: Click the 3 faces button, click on the tab, and choose a mission. If you have officers they will be automagically assigned. You can change the assignment and it will tell you at the top right what your chances of doing well at the mission are. Click the Begin button at the bottom right and let your officers out to play. When they are done the mission will show up under completed. Collect the spoils and send them on another mission. They love to serve and don't need to eat so don't worry about feeding them.

As for strategery it tells you how much xp for the class (IE diplomatic, science, engineering, etc) you will get as well what other spoils you will receive from sending them out to play. Keep them busy and you can level up as well. Send them out and keep them busy, they deserve something to do rather than stare at the walls going slowly insane.........

There is a great guide to how to use the DOff System. The ingame pop-ups tell you all you need to know, as long as you don't just hit the X button to make them go away before you read them.

I thought T4 Diplomacy awarded the Diplomat uniform, not the TMP uniform..? or am I going crazy?

(Don't answer that second question -- I already know the answer to that one.)
