I usually get swept away and go for pretty much every new ship released and maybe it's despising the reboots, but are these Kelvin ships going to be worth going for, do you reckon?
Star Trek has never been rebooted. The words you're looking for are Kelvin Timeline or Alternate Reality. And yes they will serve their purpose.
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

For me, these ships will be worth it simply in appearance. I tried building T1 and T2 Connies that could compete at end game, but it's hard making that viable when we have 6 tiers of ships. Now that these new Kelvin ships are T6, it will be a long time before they become so far outdated that I cannot use them. I'm a huge fan of TOS and JJTrek, so I'm willing to shell out to upgrade my weapons and consoles to the max to get as much use as possible from them.
but are these Kelvin ships going to be worth going for, do you reckon?
Once they end up in an infinity lockbox a couple of releases down the line, then they will absolutely be worth it. The infinity lock box is going to alter the valuation of exclusive items in a much more affordable way for people. So if you can wait it out, then yeah, the ships will be worth it.
Yes because they're ships that a lot of people have wanted the look of for ages, myself included.
No because they won't be that different from current ships. Only the console/trait will set them apart.
They're also hugely expensive and character bound.
Ye, and verily the Kelvin ships were (unsurprisingly to all but the Kelvinist acolytes) were revealed as lockbox ships. And thus a thousand hearts swooned and broke, as the hope of c-store JJ ships vanished and went up its AR posterior. well, hate (nah, that's being disingenuous) to say I told you so, but...

Hugely expensive for Feddies.
KDF/Rom only have one ship to get since they didn't care to give us lobi ship at all this time. Which kinda sucks. But on the other hand we can buy the Vengeance console+trait on the cheap, so...
See now the stupid restrictions asterisk even the feds up the tailpipe.
short asnwer: no
Long answer: if you have more than one toon on a side, you have to spand 1.) probably more Money than buying Zen ship and 2.) only get the ship for one toon. Not to mention 3.) if you dismiss the ship you cannot reclaim it (drydock helps but oerhwise you may have to spend extra Zen to get more ships Slots)

KDF: 2 tacs, 2 engs, 3 scis
KDF Roms: 3 tacs, 1 eng, 1 scis

all have mastered Intel tree (and some more specs Points)

You see the set bonus for the console set? Phaser. Not Disruptor. Not Plasma. Not All Energy Weapons Damage. Phaser
If Vengeance falls into my lap, cool. The only one I'm remotely interested in is the Romulan ship's trait.
Huh. When it was revealed there's no Narada-lookalike in the pack my interest shifted to almost every reward-result other than the ships. Those phasers will be sweet .
As far as I'm concerned, anything that's not an account unlock isn't worth more than one dollar.
Your inventory slots and Doff caps must be very modest .
Well, inventory isn't much of an issue since you can toss stuff in the replicator from pretty much anywhere. And I never found the doff system interesting so all my characters just have the base doff cap. Before you go into all the "rewards" you can get from doff missions, WoW's last expansion had a very similar system that I tried to get into because it could reward raid gear. After about two weeks of that, I got so burnt out from doing something I did not enjoy that I logged out one day, and didn't log back in for over a year.
I follow. You certainly can keep your inventory tight - especially if you're ignoring the Doff system as the largest part of my permanently reserved inventory space is hauling around commodities to do Doff assignments . And I certainly won't try to sell you on Doffing. I happen to like the themes that drive it - nice to know my crew spends a lot of time helping out around the galaxy in between blowing stuff up . It's pretty much a closed loop though - the best Doff rewards are mostly better Doffs to run the mission next time. That some Dil and XP fall out is just a byproduct .
Just in general I find buying some bank slots to hold all my spare ship cosmetic gear items and having an extra +100 Doff slots on every character to be worth the couple of bucks it takes to unlock them. I still wait for services sales to get them though .

Your point being?
His point being that Klingons and Romulans are somewhat screwed.
Infinite possibilities have implications that could not be completely understood if you turned this entire universe into a giant supercomputer.

Ah, because Klingons and Romulans can't equip phaser weapons...oh wait, they can.
Ah, because Klingons and Romulans can't equip phaser weapons...oh wait, they can.
It's more the fact that these consoles can be put on any ship. So you can run them on your Gal-X or Defiant or Scimitar or whatever. So why didn't they go with +All Damage? Especially since two of the ships are not Federation.
The KDF certaintly is not screwed. A Pilot BOP with five universal BO slots including Pilot and Temporal specs? Cry havoc and let slip the BOPs of war!

Yes - many players will eat it up. Thus make the game $ and keep it goin.
No - I don't care for it.
