After seeing that the Constitution Class T6 is going to be in a lockbox, i was disappointed. Its like you trying to force us players to give so much money. Alot of players are angry including me. So i had this idea to add the ship in a mission like: Temporal ambassador. Where we get the Ambassador class. Instead, there will be two versions. A T6 and a T3. The aT3 connie will be available from a mission.
Are you crazy?! how long have you been playing STO? do you have any idea how long people have been asking for a T5 and then a T6 Connie? they may have been asking for the Connie from ToS which we have in game but only as T1. They are giving us a T6 Connie finally although it is for the JJ movie.
After all these years of asking they finally give those players something close to what they have been asking for and you come along and say ohh no no no i dont want to pay for it so make it a T3 or T4 to balance it out.

Cryptic works very hard to provide desirable content, despite the constant bemoaning of the playerbase.
This game isn't free, and Cryptic does an admirable job of keeping it that way through through the lockbox system.
Star Trek is a warren of competing licencing agreements. Kudos to Cryptic for working out a deal to get the JJ-prise. That couldn't have been easy (or cheap).

The whole reason we don't have a prime universe T6 Consititution stems from the fact that CBS won't let us have a ship that old.
In canon, the Enterprise-A was set to be decommissioned at the end of the final TOS era movie. That signaled the end of the Constitution class in 2293. The Excelsior replaced the Constitution class. It's because the class was decommissioned that we can't get and endgame T6 Constitution class and CBS would like to stick to that canon.

Which would be reasonable except there are all these alien ships flying around that it's just an excuse now.

Which changes nothing because the alien ships that are flying around are ones CBS allowed in the game but only as Lockbox ships because they don't want everyone flying them. The excuse is CBS said no. That's the end of it. If you want to change it buy controlling stock in CBS and change it.

May want to take off that part about old. We have plenty of "old" ships around now and we'll soon have a ship much older than the Connie at t6. I don't even know if CBS is opposed to it anymore as much as I think they're just waiting for the right moment to put it out. That's the only thing that makes sense at this point.

I would say that it has more to do with all the 23rd Century ships that we are getting next week that makes the whole Tier 6 TOS Constitution is too old no longer makes sense. We will just have to wait and see if people can put the Tier 1 TOS Constitution skin on the Tier 6 Kelvin Universe Heavy Command Cruiser since they did it for the 23rd Century ships and their 26th Century counterparts. We might have bigger Tier 6 TOS Constitutions than normal, but they still will be what some people have been asking for years.
Of course, if Tier 6 TOS Constitutions are available in this manner, then it brings up the saying "Be careful what you wish for because you just might get it."
Oh my gosh, you mean Cryptic might actually want to make some money? The stuff they pay the devs and keep the lights on with? I'm shocked, I tell you, shocked!

I know. You would think that the people that worked on Star Trek would have no need for money.

I understand how you feel, when I read the announcement I was super excited, but then I saw that this is in a lock box, and then seeing that they'll also have the vengeance, and weapons and uniforms for lobi crystals, it made me feel kind of bad, but it makes sense, they have a discount for zen which I took advantage of and now a 15% discount on keys, they know they'll be making money from this so they'll profit as much as possible, at least they gave discounts, but I know that the fortunate players who can spend money on zen and lock box keys will most likely have the chance for the t6 connie and vengeance
The T6 Constitution should be a LTS reward, IMO. Then, it's a question of "How badly do you really want it?" Lifetime subscribers get the "ultimate prize," as it probably should be.
