so don't 'play the lottery'...let some other poor fools do that and then buy it off the exchange
even if it ends up an ultra rare prize like the vonph or acheros, the sheer number of people opening a hypothetical kelvin box will mean there should be enough of a supply that it'll be relatively affordable...and if not then, you can always wait until it gets added to the infinity box
Yeah, if I do get one, it ceratainly won't be right away.
My theory is that they'll do what they did with the Annorax and put it in a Duty Officer pack with a super low drop rate. That, mixed with the high level of demand should keep the price considerably high. More then likely, the ship will always be at a rate that's much higher then I'm willing to pay. Compared to the C-Store standard of a $30 account wide unlock, Lobi Ships just aren't worth it to me.
Of course, that's just me. A lot of people find it worth it.. I just personally don't like the Lockbox/Lobi system.
so don't 'play the lottery'...let some other poor fools do that and then buy it off the exchange
Yeah, so about that, with these new infinity lockboxes, will they allow you to trade these ships now that you have a choice in what kind of ships to choose? I'm just wondering if there's been a change in that way.
You know, as I think more and more about it, I just can't see how they could put the KT ships, (connie and vengeance) in a lock box, what ships would be offered for the klingons or Romulans?
They couldn't treat the Vengeance like they did the Annorax, for the same reason. They gonna let klingons and rommies fly a vengeance class? Don't think so.
Unless there's a bunch of stuff I'm not awares of, (and I'm sure there is), I just don't see how they could make it work.
Cryptic knows we've been chompin at the bits for a T6 Connie. I just don't see them being so cruel as to drop it in a loto box. I seriously hope they don't anyways.
the ships offered for the kdf and romulans would be the D4 and narada (or as it's called in STO's internal code as dredged up by the sages, the t'laru class)
A normie goes "Oh, what's this?"
An otaku goes "UwU, what's this?"
A furry goes "OwO, what's this?"
A werewolf goes "Awoo, what's this?"
"It's nothing personal, I just don't feel like I've gotten to know a person until I've sniffed their crotch." "We said 'no' to Mr. Curiosity. We're not home. Curiosity is not welcome, it is not to be invited in. Curiosity...is bad. It gets you in trouble, it gets you killed, and more importantly...it makes you poor!"

My theory.. One lock box, prize depends on faction of the character that wins it.
Romulan - Narada Mining Ship, Klingon - D4 Pilot Raider, Federation - T6 AR Constitution, AOY - Vengeance.
I'll tell you this right now, the Vengeance will not be in the Lobi Store. The Lobi store is typically the 'consolation prize.' It's there to see that you get something for your efforts through Lobi.
Never before has the best and most desirable ship been a Lobi ship while the 'lesser' desired ships were the Grand Prizes.

Honestly its like someone chopped the neck off a D7, smoothed it out, and made the back end the "front" of a ship.

Whatever it's supposed to be, it's hideous. I'm sure somebody will like it, but I've got zero-point-zero interest in it now. My only lingering morbid curiosity is the explanation WHY we're getting that thing. What dank corner of the KT have I overlooked that spawned that?

I dunno but Im waiting for a better pic before I pass judgement on it... Im not feeling too optimistic tho
I have a new theory to show I can look sad and desperate too () - Maybe its a substitute for the Enterprise-J when Romulans run the Battle of Procyon V que. It's big enough...
Well the German lockbox blog is up. And all three ships are gonna be in a lockbox. Nothing about the lobi store ship but I think we all know what's comming.
And there it is people.. definitive proof that I don't know what the hell I'm talking about.
This is actually quite good, having it available in the Lobi store will keep the price reasonable on the exchange. People can't charge a billion EC for a ship people can just get with Lobi, so the Vengeance might be within reach after all.
I think I'll actually pick up a few keys, what the hell. $10 won't kill me right?
Edit: In case anyone missed it, Vengeance is a Lobi Ship: Click me!
1. I know people want this thing and because it's going to be in the Lobi Store, more people can get it that way and the cost won't be crazy on the exchange (give it a bit of time) as if it was a regular lockbox or vonph-rare ship. However, this is a Lobi Store purchase so 1 character per buy, unlike faction-unlock for a C-Store purchase.
2. Cryptic didn't even bother for a KDF & Romulan Lobi Store equivalent ship. This big season and the lockbox it's coming out with has very little to offer for Non-Feds.

I noticed that as well.
I'm going to be 100% honest here when I say that I believe this will be a trend that we will see continue. I don't like it, but I believe that they're eventually going to just officially stop supporting KDF and Romulan factions all together. It's clear that the Fed Faction generates the cash, it's just a matter of time before they officially decide to focus their energy on the source of the money.
Again, I don't like it or agree with it, but I have seen STO going this direction for some time. Like it or not (and I don't) STO is a Federation-Centric game in every possible way.

Romulans and Klingons do not make Cryptic money so making things for Klingon and Romulan players is a waste of time unless it's bundled in with Federation stuff. Poor Cryptic, how many times do they have to say that on interviews?

They'll have to keep saying that when they have a multi-faction game.

OFC they don't make Cryptic cash... its a self-fulfilling loop, you give them minimal/no stuff and 1/2 the stuff you do give is TRIBBLE and guess what?! IT DONT SELL! *insert sounds of shock and dismay*
No KDF/RR will never be as huge as the fedrats but there is plenty of money still in those two and people willing to give it to Cryptic, but Cryptic has to break out of their own logic loop.

I agree, I was very surprised to see the AR Constitution as the 'Grand Prize' ship and the Vengeance being a Lobi ship.
My guess is they're going to make a bundle off this box, but I think the Vengeance was a better option for a 'grand prize.'
Oh well, cool by me.. the Vengeance will be the cheaper of the two ships.
