if the vengance or the JJprise is put in the c-store im buying them period
as little as I play Feds.... yeah... if they're c-store Im gettin at least one
Those will be lockbox ships. One per faction ... The Rom ship a carrier ... D-4 the KDF .... and Connie and big V ... between the other two.
Question is ... will one be TOS and the other FED? Or will one go Lobi?
The Narada, Jellyfish, and maybe the USS Kelvin are not Kelvin Universe ships, but STO Universe ships. There is even a mention of the Narada and Jellyfish in the Path to 2409 lore. Therefore, it makes sense for the Romulan Republic to have a non-assimilated variation of the Narada in the C-Store. Since the Narada is a Tal Shiar Adapted Mining Vessel, then it belongs in the lockbox, but not for the same reason as the Kelvin Universe ships. The Kelvin Universe ships belong in the lockbox since they are from another universe not something that the playable factions would have reason to fly.
I'm pretty sure the rule will be upheld that the first ship of the class is the name of the class, despite Khan's preening about his baby.
Anyway, "class" could mean two different things. It could mean the same as Galaxy-class or Miranda-class, OR it could mean "weight class" (battleship class, escort class). Is it confirmed that he meant the former?

It's not but ST has never used weight classes.
Besides, what to say the USS Dreadnought isn't still at Jupiter Starbase?

Honestly if Paramount/CBS want to roll that way I'm totally down with it. The rest of the KT-version of Section 31can just pack up in the USS Dreadnought and set off to the remote borderlands and establish S31 as something more akin to shadowy but well-meaning parasite within the Federation while Star Fleet proper cleans up its act and lays off with the "retaliate first" mentality. Having a 'black helicopter' survive the events of Into Darkness just sets them up even better to be a recurring foil in any follow-on stories. As an organization determined to save the Federation from itself while NOT repeating the epic mistakes of Admiral Marcus.

Well, they don'thave to. In the AR, S31 is not a shadow organization anymore. They have shipyards that have regular traffic, their "secret dreadnought" is openly displayed by their officials and with all the resources available it's not plausible to assume there's anything inofficial going on. The ARs Federation openly supports S31. But the AR also has "Klingon Warbirds" - I just can't take that universe seriously

TBH, we've only seen one other Briton in the ST universe (Chief O'Brien)..maybe the British/Starfleet have a different way of referring to unofficial-and-therefore-non-existent ships, i.e. by weight-class? You saw how badly a single Constitution-class ship got beat up by the Vengeance, without getting a single shot in.
Dreadnought-class could more than likely be referencing the weight/size-class over the actual class name.

most likely
AR Connie, AR BoP, AR Rom Ship = Lock box T6 Ship Prize
Vengeance = Lock box T6 Ultra Rare
OR
All of them Lock Box T6 Ship Prize Choice (they may even be all T6 Ultra Rare)
since the Temporal Ships are all C-Store
Hmm, you know... I doubt they will let a fed ship be piloted by a kdf player since Vengence is a fed ship after all.
Alot of ppl forget that there will be a 4th "faction", thus I suspect most likely its goona happen like the temporal ships, depending on wich toon opens it: TOS toons will get a T6 Connie Command cruiser, Fed toons will get Vengence Intel dread cruiser, Rom toons will get a Narada intel full carrier warbird and KDF toons will get a pilot BoP with pilot maneuvers. And as lobi store ship a T6 AR Ferengi marauder. But thats just a wild guess of course.

Ack! I completely forgot about those first 3..although, it was late..so I'll accept I made a mistake and be done with it.
I don't believe the Kelvin Timeline ships will be in a lockbox because they are faction based ships and not all one general species or group like all other lockboxes. These are for three distinct factions. Lockboxes are for all factions not just one. I can't see a Federation character flying a Klingon Kelvin Timeline ship of a Klingon flying a Kelvin Timeline Constitution class ship. Nor can I see a non-Romulan flying a Romulan Kelvin Timeline ship.
I do think they will have an announcement either right before the expansion goes live which I believe to be more likely or around when the movie comes out.

Sorry, but much like the Annorax, the Dreadnought class is a dual-specialisation (temporal/Intel in the dreadnought's case) ship with an OP trait and, apparently, a VERY nice BOFF/console layout. Those are characteristics that are always reserved for 'grand prize' ships.
Yep, right you are.
There is a 0% chance that the Vengeance will be in the C-Store. This ship will be their ultimate 'cash cow,' people will be spending hundreds on keys.
They might put it in an RnD pack like they did with the Annorax, but no way it will be in the C-Store.
We do not what the seats and specializations will be unless PWE/Cryptic announces them. Now granted rumors may be true and if they are does not mean they they would never do that to a C-Store ship.
Now if it does end up being lock box they will end up pissing off a large portion of their community, which would not be the first time either and lose a chance of getting money from people like myself who will not gamble to get a ship. I also see that there are a big group who will not get it because they do not like anything to do with this timeline. This in turn might have a big impact on sales of having two groups who will not put money into these ships because of the the timeline and being lock boxes. Only time will tell.

wishing for the two KT ships is all good and fine, but honestly i wouldn't mind seeing a gamut of ships sharing the same design ethos to fill the niches for sci/tac/eng, and a few variants inbetween. as well as the aforementioned Vengeance n' Connie.
Veng is probably lobi store, it's fed only. The grand prize needs to be cross faction... other 3 ships will be the regular prizes for each faction. sucks thou... pure money grab here for doing gamble boxes, they should be outlawed. using loophole by saying your using keys and that your not using money so all items in box are "equal" value... haha

It's also from an Alternate Universe, so, it's obvious these Kelvin Universe ships are ships that CBS doesn't want everyone running around in which is part of the reason lock boxes exist in the first place.

Just to clarify my position.. I'm not saying I agree, just what I expect.
I am with you and most others, I would greatly prefer that the ships were made available through the C-Store. I would buy the Vengeance without giving it a second thought, but like you.. I won't 'play the lottery' to try and win it.
The problem is, that rather we want to believe it or not.. we're in the minority. The Lock Box system has been in place for years, for one reason.. it works. People keep buying key after key after key until they win the ship, people spend hundreds of dollars and often even more, just trying to pull that 'jackpot' ship.
Cryptic is marketing to that crowd over the 'sure bet' of the $30 they would get from you and I. The Vengeance is just 'too good' to put in the C-Store, they're going to make people spend out the nose for it.. and it will work. Do I like this? No.. I don't, but I get it. I get that they need to make money and this will do it for them.
I just try and look at the bright side. I won't get a Vengeance, but all the people trying will fund the game and make sure I get to keep playing. It's not a complete win, but you take what you can get. Like you, I'm not going to keep dumping money into an RnG system hoping to 'get lucky.'
so don't 'play the lottery'...let some other poor fools do that and then buy it off the exchange
even if it ends up an ultra rare prize like the vonph or acheros, the sheer number of people opening a hypothetical kelvin box will mean there should be enough of a supply that it'll be relatively affordable...and if not then, you can always wait until it gets added to the infinity box

The funny thing is if they put it in the Lobi Store it's not random. Even if it's the first 1,000 Lobi ship, that's just currency conversion speak for $200 (assuming you're silly and buy that currency in chunks too small to get any of the bulk bonuses). Plus it's 20% off today if you buy your keys now, and another ~15% off because of the Zeni sale.
An that's completely ignoring any value you might get out of opening 200 lockboxes in addition to the Lobi you're actually after. 'Cause, once you have a Vengeance, why not load it with new KT-themed weaponry? Which will probably be just as OP designed-to-sell as the ships it's bundled with...
