”The Battle of Caleb IV” is the next mission for the 23rd century story, and will draw the captain into events discussed in the Deep Space Nine episode “Once More Unto the Breach.”

Now, you must remember that in
those days, the cloaking device
was a new piece of technology...
there were only a handful of
engineers in the Imperial Fleet
who knew how to operate them. So
before we left Chronos, I spent
three days in the engine room...

Too bad I can't get on Tribble anymore. I keep getting the version mismatch error and nothing I've done corrects it. Downloaded 3-4 different sized patches for Tribble over the weekend and none of them worked. I've currently given up completely on testing this stuff out, but once it's live...
Losing faith in humanity, one person at a time.
I literally just read this book. and I really dont see what you are getting at. Klingons attacking something is not a new concept. also, there's no "Ware" in TOS, and its an actual attack, not a bunch of pirates and ne'er do wells followed up by a bunch of infighting. which is as spoiler free as i can comment on the book. but yes, i doubt these two events have anything whatsoever to do with each other
yes whats up?? also hoping we get more missions to justify the purchase of the temporal agent pack. ( but that's just me a lone voice crying in the wilderness)
However with Caleb IV being the next one released, it's entirely possible they're reworking it all, because so far the whole pacing of the missions is too fast. There is no flow or relaxed pace or length, it's just boom, boom, boom go now.
- Prevent the future raiders from killing the two dahar masters?
- Make sure that the Klingons keep access to cloak technology?
- Some old fashioned hacking and slashing?
- Simply showcase some 23rd century ships prior to their release in the C-store?
The future raiders wish to meddle in the development of the alpha/beta quadrant species to ensure a favorable timeline for their dead star and home world. Killing two famous dahar masters would certainly do just that.
Off course we know how efficient the Nah'kul operatives are against "primitives" and it is likely they will fail. Then again, do we know which species the "albino" was?
Very curious about this episode.
As for the question of the Albino...even though it's off topic (sorry, can't resist)
According to some sources - including the actor who played the role - the Albino may have been Klingon.
From non-canon sources, which include the novel Forged In Fire, he was a Klingon born of a noble house, who was throw away as a baby because of his deformity, but was rescued and raised by some criminals, in the hopes of using him against his House some day. Instead he killed them off and took over their criminal gang. It's a good read, and one of the few Captain Sulu books out there, but it also serves as a prequel to the DS9 episode, and features Curzon Dax, Kor, Koloth and Kang. If you like Klingon stories - and don't mind the whole Augment storyline from Enterprise, since that ties into this as well - then you'll like this book.
hehe....
I have to wonder if their culture is still around...

Forever a STO Veteran-Minion
Yeah I thought the same thing even though they state its too late at the point where they are first releasing the info to take any of our interests into development. At the very least the Klingon and Romulan Empires had an alliance during this era to an extent so they could have atleast made a lowbie tier D7 and then a T6 temporal D7 for wanting to play Klingon or Romulan style for this.
As well all those TOS from tv to movie Klingon costumes and weapons like the disruptor pistol would make this worth it to me.
Anyways hope they listen this time.
What are you talking about the dialog was wonderful.

Also, who didn't want to wear this fancy hat after seeing it on ST?
Okay not every ep was perfect. Every series has clunker eps.
@jarenricar sorry... I hadn't finished the novel yet when I posted that. Matter of fact, I just finished it last night and you are correct. My comment was based on a chapter or two from the novel where...
Just sounded familiar to me is all...
Thanks!

Well I just watched that episode recently, while it IS a great episode, but can it really translate to gameplay?
I think the criteria for STO missions that honor the series is that they have to have more than a great story, they have to have a mix of space and ground battle as well as a range of angles that branch of stories can work in/out of. I really like how they worked the Guardian of Forever in to the original first ten missions, in the 25th century. STO has done SUCH a great job at finding amazingly creative ways to honor the shows. The original time travel missions were fantastic, right down to sling shotting around a star in a Klingon ship- a clear nod at Star Trek: The Voyage Home.
For now i expect the remainder of the CE event and then the white sandy beaches of Risa until the expansion is released next fall (Probably late July).
there is a workaround i have been using go into your STO folder wherever it is installed and delete the Playtest file completely this will cause the patcher to download the most up to date version however tradeoff is you will likely have a 12GB file patch since the entire patch file was deleted. other than that wait for the patches to die down in an hour or two and then patch
or rather, we'd be able to access it if, as of the time of this post, it were actually ON tribble, which it isn't
