Alliance Exploration Initiative - Starbase Magellan Resources

drogyn1701drogyn1701 Member Posts: 3,606 Media Corps
Here are the resources you need if you want to build Starbase Magellan for your AEI mission:

Map Spreadsheets:

Exterior

Interior

Shared Folder for Starbase Magellan crew character creator sliders

Crew Descriptions:
Command Crew

Station Commander: Captain Anton Mercer - Starfleet

Prominent captain in Starfleet before and after he was assimilated. Assimilated for only hours before being rescued by his crew, Anton Mercer still retained all of his individuality even though he was integrated into the Collective. This has given him a unique look at the Borg and their knowledge. He now looks forward to doing what Starfleet is meant to do, now that the Iconian threat is over, and that is to explore.

Nominated by @antman9173

Chief Medical Officer: Haasra - Dyson Joint Command

"Would you like Haasra to take a look at that injury? Worry not broken humanoid for Haasra is the very best Doctor in your immediate vicinity! Haasra knows much about anatomy and physiology. Haasra also knows much about dentistry, horticulture, civil engineering, animal handling, Orion law, First Federation cuisine, and impulse drive repair. Haasra is free spirit like that. And Haasra promises, no more mysterious fires. The computers and Haasra have come to an understanding."

nominated by @duncanidaho11

Chief of Station Operations: Commander Degan - Starfleet

Degan had dedicated his life to the Starfleet Corps of Engineers, but his experience during the war changed many things. After receiving treatment on Earth for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Degan transferred to Starfleet’s engineering branch, most recently serving as an instructor at Starfleet Academy. With new, and hopefully peaceful, opportunities opening up for service on the frontier, Degan is eager to try and put the past behind him.

nominated by @drogyn1701

Communications Officer: Lieutenant Tukv - Starfleet

Tukv's preposterously wide and sesquipedalian vocabulary in eight languages can make him hard to understand, but it is only the byproduct of his excellent xenolinguistic skills. One only needs to remind him to use "simplistic dialogue" on occasion.

Nominated by @starfarertheta

Chief of Security: Commander Ch'that - Klingon Defense Force

Formerly of the I.K.S. Relorum, Ch'that sided with Kohmar in the short rebellion that precipitated the fall of his house. Despite avoiding charges of dishonor Ch'that could never reconcile her actions against so many of her fellow warriors. She now seeks to apply her talents in a more constructive venture, preferably with the Empire far behind her.

Nominated by @duncanidaho11

Strategic Operations Officer: Jol'ran Nar T'soni - Romulan Republic

Jol'ran Was actually born two years before the supernova hit Romulus and was off world with his family when the planet was destroyed. Ever since then he has been working to make sure the Romulan people survive, which lead him to Virinat. After joining the Republic, he rose in rank quickly for his incredible tactical knowledge and the ability to swiftly and efficiently hand situations that arose. He is not the most enthusiastic about the AEI so closely following the Iconian War, but does not deny the potential for new Romulan Prospects.

Nominated by @antman9173

Exploration Specialists

Astrophysicist: Commander Jenna Romaine (Cryptic) - Starfleet

Commander Jenna Romaine is a Starfleet officer formerly assigned to Memory Alpha, where she provided information on Data Samples and their use in crafting. Romaine is an expert in astrophysics, with a specialty in stellar mechanics. She is a descendant of Mira Romaine, a scientist who once served on the U.S.S. Enterprise under Captain Kirk.

A Cryptic NPC

Anthropologist: Lieutenant Commander Pseudo - Federation

Lieutenant Commander Pseudo is an Aenar, who has recently joined the Alliance Exploration Initiative, in hopes of returning to anthropology in a peaceful setting. During the Iconian War, he participated in a think tank at Starfleet Command with the sole purpose of working together to determine what the motives of the Iconians were. This group provided much of the insight that lead to the first battle in the Iconian System, where a third of the fleet was lost. This lays heavy on his mind. Many find it surprising that a blind man can succeed well in Starfleet, but as he puts it, who best to study the minds of species, than someone who can actually read them.

Nominated by @primar13

Planetary Ecologist: Dr. Mor Haltaki - Romulan Republic

Dr. Haltaki strikes fear in the hearts of graduate students across the sector! He once made an Andorian cry for incorrectly applying a semi-variogram when there was in fact no spatial auto-correlation! That said, Dr. Haltaki may be on a tiny… probation after an incident which was almost certainly a setup! But worry not, Dr. Haltaki will wipe the smiles of the disciplinary board's faces after his penance with the Alliance Exploration Initiative becomes a boon to Science!

Nominated by @duncanidaho11

First Contact Specialist: Ambassador Dehnis - Federation

Many make the mistake of dismissing the Ambassador for her species' stunted linguistic skills, but don't let her simple speech patterns fool you. What she lacks in expanded vocabulary, she makes up for with deep sincerity and a passionate commitment to peace. Responsible for the negotiations that ultimately opened the way for Pakleds to serve in Starfleet. She has since risen in ranks of the Federation Diplomatic Corps. She has successfully negotiated with more than a dozen species, including the Undine. She is known for forging bonds on an emotional level where more eloquent diplomats haven't been unsuccessful. Despite her limited vocabulary, she is quite intelligent and an incredibly insightful. She won't reach out to you with factual arguments but reach you on your deepest emotional level.

For the exterior map you have the interior base map and backdrop, not the space backdrop settings.

Also there are several Class Y planets available, and they all have numbers, but yours is listed without a number. Which one do we use?

I have a few starship costumes for AEI authors to use in their missions. They're based on the designated Foundry mission-playing ships for each of my toons. They're probably most useful for docking at the starbase, but you can also use them in the story proper if you'd like. (All I ask is that you don't destroy them, since again they are based on my playable ships.) I've also included their captain names for dialogue purposes; I'll send their NPC costumes by request.

    U.S.S. Hamilton (Capt. Serida Auslin)
    • Ship class: Fed Ambassador Class Cruiser
    • Style: Ambassador (all parts)
    • Material: Type 5 (all parts)
    • Windows: Fleet
    • War paint: Ambassador (all parts); colors K23, V24
    • Special note: In-game the Hamilton uses polaron beams; reskin a Benthan cruiser if using in combat

    U.S.S. Renaissance (Capt. Jomiah Drayton)
    • Ship class: Fed Nova Class Vessel
    • Style: Nova (hull, saucer), Rhode Island (pylons, nacelles)
    • Material: Type 1 (all parts)
    • Windows: Type 1
    • War paint: Lacerta (all parts); colors K23, V24
    • Special note: In-game the Renaissance uses polaron beams; reskin a Benthan frigate if using in combat

    U.S.S. Trailblazer (Capt. Marcus Roderick)
    • Ship class: Fed Vesta Class
    • Style: Aventine (saucer, stanchions), Rademaker (hull, nacelles)
    • Material: Type 1 (all parts)
    • Windows: Type 4
    • War paint: Aquila (all parts); colors K23, V24

    I.K.S. J'harak (Gen. Cha'vaQ)
    • Ship class: KDF QulDun Bird of Prey
    • Style: QulDun (all parts)
    • Material: Type 3 (all parts)
    • War paint: Orion (all parts); colors A5, V24
    • Special note: In-game the J'harak is a T6 Kor, but that class is still not available in the Foundry ship costume editor

    R.R.W. Vicilius (Cmdr. H'rav)
    • Ship class: Romulan Dhelan Class Warbird
    • Style: Dhelan Type 2 (wings), Dhelan (all other parts)
    • Material: Romulan Veteran (all parts)
    • Windows: Type 1
    • War paint: Romulan Veteran 04 (all parts); colors F5, V24

I'll also throw in a referenced AEI ship. Only stipulation for use: do not blow up.

U.S.S. Discovery (Captain Bailey, [SSF series])
    • Ship class: Nebula (stock NPC contact)
Bipedal mammal and senior Foundry author.
Notable missions: Apex [AEI], Gemini [SSF], Trident [AEI], Evolution's Smile [SSF], Transcendence

Now I've found a few problems with the interior map settings, specifically the placement of a few consoles in Ops.

At row 86 of the spreadsheet, the Romulan console should be at Y = 0. (When placed as specified, it doesn't show up because it's below the floor).

I also think the Klingon console at row 82 is placed wrong but I'm not sure where it's meant to go. (It also should be placed at Y = 0 to make it visible, but that puts it directly in front of one of the baked-in Fed consoles which can still be seen behind it. Therefore I think its X and Z coordinates are wrong too.)

I'll throw one more resource into the pool, character sliders for additional characters of mine nominated for SBM crew positions and a few more from my existing AEI missions.

    https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BwyGn-YYxuDHMzU0Q3VBRGlwcjQ

These are even less required to use than the main AEI assets (what comes after zero? ), but if anyone's really wanting to build even more between mission continuity here's a few things to help out. :)

I doublechecked and yest this should be 0.

Yeah, I didn't realize when I placed it that there was a console here already. Here are the new coordinates:
    x=19.799; y=0; z=24.369; rotation=90

As to the chairs you mentioned, just adjust them as needed. Unlike consoles, they're not fixed objects.

One more minor interior map issue: The sittable chairs in the ready room should both be moved back to X = 27.000. As originally placed, they don't leave enough room between themselves and the desk to allow the player to actually sit in them.

Edit: What are the ranks for Tukv, Ch'that and Jol'ran? Their descriptions don't say. I'm using Jol'ran in my mission and need to know what rank to address him by. (In his case the costume settings don't help either, as they do not include any rank insignia.) For now I'm calling him Subcommander Jol'ran.

For those who want to place ships around the starbase, Y = -6.5 is the Y coordinate at which they're level with the docking bay doors and appendages jutting out from the four "arms" of the starbase.

    Two things...
    1. Just now looking at it and for some reason Anton is missing eyebrows. Lol please put the medium eyebrows on him if/when you use him in your mission. Thank you
    2. Mercer's Ship is the U.S.S. Valkyrie with a straight Yorktown skin and Jol'ran's is the R.W.W. War Phoneix a D'deridex Warbird type 2 hull

Could you be a bit more general about the colors? The labels don't translate well to the foundry (aren't present and the selection has a different layout, and I do want to get this right.) :p

    Couple AEI character slider notes...

Turkv should also have eyebrows (Theta reports raised 01 of the same hair color) and Haasra may have them depending on his mood (lately been using standard, color very nearly the same as, but just a little darker than, the skin tone.)

What's the limit on character costumes again? I know I've hit it in the past. I'd like to include all of these characters, but I've got a city to populate, too :)

Thanks everyone for the condensed list of resources. Now that I actually have time, I can finally start building - and this thread will be a huge time saver. :)

Oh, and for the backdrop in space, is 'Purple Space 02' the same as 'Purple Clouds 02'? I can't seem to find a 'space' listing.

All of the ESD Mannequin Stands, ESD Recessed Floor Lights, and Table - Generic Ship 04 making up the transporter pad should be moved down by .3 Y to actually touch the Building Block Platform Disc, not noticeably float above it.
