Just as the title says. I've noticed that since the update, I can't bypass most cutscenes anymore like I used to. This is especially bothersome with the latest featured episode. Towards the end when I take out the Nah'kul time portal, it goes to a cutscene which I can't bypass. In the meantime, my ship is STILL being fired on and I can't do anything about it. So when the cutscene ends, I find my ship has been destroyed.

Second, cutscenes that can't be skipped are programmed that way as they transition you to the next phase of the mission.
Not according to the damage toggle it isn't. Plus I had the same thing happen during the mission "Surface Tension" while I'm in space combat with the Undine. A cutscene appears of ships warping in (while I'm in combat). When the cutscene ends, my ship is now severely damaged, if not destroyed. No large exploding objects around this time...
Really the game should protect the player's ship or remove the enemies from the playfield during the cutscene *and* allow you to skip the same if you desire.
That's what I'm asking for. I just replayed Temporal Front with my newest character. This time I went all the way around to the backside of the time portal, away from ALL other enemy vessels. I took out the portal, and this time I did NOT blow up, because there weren't any enemy vessels firing at me. In fact, I took NO damage from the portal explosion.
During cutscenes, enemy ships will still be attacking you and you are powerless to do anything unless you can 'escape' the cutscene.
However, the cutscenes tend to develop the story so I'd like to see cutscenes played out properly for the first run of a mission on the account, but skippable on all further runs. I'm not sure that's so easy to implement though...
Oh I agree. At the end of it all, I wouldn't mind sitting through the cutscene if the battle was "paused" in the meantime. I'm guessing that pausing the action during a scene might be easier for the developers, as opposed to being able to skip it on future runs.
Knowing this was going to happen, the best place to destroy the portal is behind it. Well away from the other action. When the portal is destroyed and the cutscene is over, then you can head in and finish the mission without a scratch on your ship
That's how I'll be doing it from now on Circle around to the backside and blow it to bits
It is especially bad in the current episode because of some of the high-damage attacks the enemy has. They are normally not hard to avoid (well marked cones) or mitigate (targetable torpedoes) but not when you are trapped in a cut-scene. During my first run my ship was actually in the scene and I watched first the shields collapse and then the hull burst into green flame before the big fireball. All I could do was just shrug and respawn when I finally got back. Kind of takes away from the dramatic moment they were trying to achieve.
In a similar vein, quit having auto-pop-up hails while still in red alert.
Plus, doing that Mission with 17 toons times 3 to get the ground set for my BOffs takes 3 times as Long because of not being able to skip cut Scenes.

Before even engineer cruisers with high resistance using eng Team, brace for Impact, evasive maneuvers and so on had died. Now a tac Pilot escort survived. It's DEFINITELY the other ships not following the cut Scene.
