Things look pretty simple to me:
From universal anniversary commendations we now got yearly specific ones.
Why is this a scam ?
Because players used to have some stock of anniversary commendations from previous years just in case they can't fully participate in the specific period of next year. Well, now those are not usable for their main purpose and we stocked them for nothing (and no, being tradeable of junk like skill points doesn't do).
This is the first year that I couldn't be in for the event and now I find myself in the impossibility of getting the event ship since from what I understand the event is near the end.

It's like saying starting tomorrow you can only buy toilet paper with the cash dollar.
Without rehashing the entire original spiels over and over...
I don't remember the tokens earned in 2013 or 2014 ever being advertised as applying to 2015, 2016, etc.
Secondly, this was the third overall event of the three "get a free ship for grinding" events that wouldn't allow older tokens or carryover from year to year. You should have been... at least aware... of the situation going in...
Thirdly, wasn't the forums aflame a week or two before the event started with yet another round of "omg, buyback store"?
With at least these points (and the "windows" of advertising), one would have thought that "appropriate schedule clearing" would be... undertaken... if the ship(s) are truly desired...
Finally, isn't the lobi option still available? Or are they still closing it down within a month of the event's end...?
To rob a line: [quote: Mariemaia Kushrenada] Forum Posting is much like an endless waltz. The three beats of war, peace and revolution continue on forever. However, opinions will change upon the reading of my post.[/quote]
And i wonder why where they against it in the first place.
leaves me confused and angry why they hate the community
so much when it comes to events.
The buyback store is going away, though. It's not permanent. In the future you can't do that anymore, superflous tokens will probably just vanish or remain vanity items in your inventory.
No, they didn't. Get over it.

Cryptic did off players the ability to exchange tokens for crafting material or specialization points for a limited period of time.
No, they did not. Here is a link to the ToS.

The important clauses you need to read are as follows:
didn't read the bottom part???
The link I provided leads to PWE's ToS that is published on Steam. All game downloadable from Steam also have links to the publishers ToS.
If you click the link you will see the following at the very top of the page:
Well when you lose 3 days because Q keeps sending you to a bugged Wolf 359 system it gets really annoying. The first anniversary event was much better. You only had to run the mission once to get the ship. Why should have to "work" for a gift?:)
This is a special kind of stupid, let me make sure I dumb it down for you OP, what you wrote is stupid, not what Cryptic changed. Which they changed over a year ago.
