Can't play because of lag and launcher problems after last patch - this is stupid

I swear, ever sense the last patch, I can't play this game anymore. I tell the support telling them that it takes 45 minutes t o even get the launcher to work and they tell me to do stuff and make changes inside the launcher and the game that just either makes the game slower or doesn't do a darn thing to make things better.

I swear it's not my computer, I have done everything from removing the video card and replaceing it to uninstalling the game and re-installing it.

If and when I ever do get in the game, I can't move or do anything for if I try, the game lags out soo much that I am back where I was when I first started because the server can't keep up with what I am doing in the game.

Nothing like getting a permanent account and not being able to use it......

Well, I guess I won't playt he game till they have another patch and even then I am not sure.

As I said, this is stupid.

Okay, this sounds very familiar. This was me back in January. What type of computer and what OS do you have? Also, check your internet speed.

It'd help if you posted your computer specs - if you don't share those, it's harder to give you any advice/help.

I changed my proxy servers to the EU and even though the problem still persists on the launcher, in-game lag and such have lessoned to the point that I can play now.

I am having issues similar to this. But I am using a laptop. I can't even do ANY PVE queues, red alerts or likely even deep space encounters. I have tried tweaking my internet connection settings to see if it was me. But it isn't. All my internet bound stuff (Skype, Google Chrome, Steam, Arc etc.) work fine except for Star Trek Online. I can roam around on the social zones fine.
My ISP is CenturyLink. I pay for 1.5mbps download and just under 1mbps upload.

My laptop model is a Lenovo P500 (Non Touch). Most if not all my drivers are 100% up to date. If any of this is relevant please look into this as soon as you can. My wireless card is an Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230 also with up to date drivers.

I'm having a very similar issue. I went so far as to change my DNS settings and nothing seems to be helping. I can say it's the only game I'm having trouble with, so I don't think my connection is the issue. The lag is so bad in the afternoons and evenings I cant even play.

I also am using Centurylink on a 40mb DSL. I tracert the patchserver and get well under 100 ms response on all servers, and can ping the server with 80ms consistent time. It's just been recently that this has been happening. I've been working fine up until the 11.5 patch information started coming up. (Basically the last few weeks have been so severe I can't stay connected.) I get cant patch very quickly, the login server consistently times out, and if I can make it into a queue, I get a penalty for not participating because I'm rubber banding so hard.

Well peeps I think you have answered your own question here.

You have noticed that the lag corresponds to a particular time frame. That rules out your hardware but I think it leads us in the right direction.

Some of you guys are running 40mb/s broadband. Even on a bad day you should be getting 10% of that, eg 4mb/s. Easy enough to play the game. Furthermore drudgy has done ping and trace route tests that indicate network speed is not a problem. I am shocked that either of these got through. So we can rule out your broadband.

That leaves us with two major possibilities. It is either the bandwidth at Cryptic's end or they have a server load balancing issue. The latter would be my guess.

So I've done some tests to see if it was limited to just queues and red alerts. And I've found that it also appears to be affecting episodes where there is a lot of combat. I'm running my graphics near absolute minimum or at minimum. I could try swapping proxy servers and see if the issue still persists. Ok I just ran a CCA with the EU Proxy and it seems to have fixed my problems, mostly. I think I'll run the game using that until things get looked into or fixed.

Looking at the live stream from last night. Even they are getting booted off.

That says it is load balancing. I would assume that they have reserved servers for different parts of the world.

Sounds like the same thing to me, however I now can't even get in to play the game, as it just hanged in Loading mode now!!! I am at a loss at how to fixe that problem.

    MSI Gaming G Series
    Windows 10 Home
    Version 1511
    OS Build 10586.164
Processor Intel (R) Core (TM) i7-4860HQ CPU @2.40Hz
    2.40GHZ
    Installed RAM 16.0GB
    64-bit operating system, x64 - based processor

    Broadband Speed - cable Ethernet

    Ping 7ms
    36 .13 mps
    Upload speed 1.09mps

Graphics Cards, Geforce Nivida 800 series, it doesn't support 3D though which is a tad annoying

So I am truly at a loss, as I have done the Run as Administrator and also Ticked the Force Verification too!!

And if I down load it via Cyrptic as soon as I hit battle stage in anything whoosh!!! so really confused at the moment!!!

    Appreciate any help on this...

My wife tried this just to see if she can get her patch bar to move, wont budge on either STO or Neverwinter, ISP and inhouse wifi are not the issue here, as "my" PC in the next room soars like an eagle right through into the game and doing anything in it.

The 11.5 April 12 patch put her out of both games entirely, took me some talking to even get her back into STO after about 3 yrs. This is the very thing that chased her away before.

Over 6 yrs both of us combined have dropped between $1500-$2000 on this game, i want her game fixed.

If she leaves again, she takes her money with her too, smooth move on the company's part.

Both the wife's and my PC's are veritable Ferraris when applied to running STO, to the point where posting specs for them is redundant. And yet on the same inhouse internet connections i have no issues and she does.

It also is not because we are both on the inhouse connection at the same time, because she can do "anything" else on the internet she wants while i am also connected.

The only difference between the two worth mentioning is my graphics are Nvidia processed and hers are AMD, before 11.5 she had no issues, now she cant get anything to patch.

She has updated everything, troubleshooted everything, tried all settings, checked ports, checked security software (we use the exact same brand and versions/settings), tried all proxy's and submitted a support ticket that has attracted the usual dead silence for five days now.

If it's a corrupt file, script whatever, i am at a loss to understand how she can fix it when she cant even force verify.

She has no desire to reinstall.

I am well aware that the TOS states she isn't guarranteed access to anything, especially due to the fact she doesn't pay a sub. The Intel Escort she dropped $30 for about a month ago isn't available to her either.

Nothing changed on her PC in any way shape or form from 11 April-13 April 2016 "but" the 11.5 patch.

This isn't about client side anything, this is all Cryptic.

It seems that Cryptic reached internet cap on their ISP. For me in (GMT -3) everyday 9PM rubberband starts and gets worst through the night. For point of refference 9PM here is dil refining time.
